Property's Favourite Review
Had a wonderful and relaxing time at Rosedale Farm. Keith and Nondumiso were great hosts. Welcoming, friendly and very helpful. We stayed there with our 4 year old daughter and baby son. Our daughter loved it and was really chilled for both our children. It has a natural pool, braai area and loads of area to chill. The hosts are extremely knowledgeable of the area. Breakfast is great, also close to Addo park. We would highly recommend this place.

We loved our stay here, not only for the peace snd quiet and the aromatic orange blosssoms, but also because Keith (owner) was so willing to share his time and knowledge with us on organic fruit farming, which was truly insightful. We also loved the natural swimming pool and enjoyed a delicious breakfast complete with organic orange juice, organic eggs and home baked bread, besides the usual trimmings. Thank you Rosedale for your hospitality.

We had a lovely stay at Rosedale it was our first night in South Africa and they were very welcoming, giving us plenty of tips about the local area. The rooms are large and comfortable and overlook a communal garden. They prepared us a nice breakfast using produce from the farm and recommended a good restaurant just down the road for dinner. It is very close to the entrance of addo national elephant park which was amazing. We did a self drive around the park and saw a large number of animals, including getting very close to a couple of elephants who crossed the road in front of us - fantastic. It was one of the highlights of our whole trip!

Rosedale B & B
Rosedale is made up of eight rooms set in beautiful gardens which are very well maintained. Our room was pleasant if basic and air conditioning would have been nice. Every night there is a camp fire in the boma and people gather to chat about their day.
Given the price you pay, it is good value for money and the breakfast is adequate if not extensive.

The breakfast was great and served by a delightful lady.
Unfortunately the venue is old, tierd &insect bites were the order of the day..
the barbecue area was untidy with old plastic chairs that needed a wash like the rest of the garden furniture.the barbecue rosters were dirty. The communal kitchen just as untidy & the cabinets need cleaning.A broken water dispenser lay one side in the entertainment area. The woman in our family group were appaled at the dirty state of the toilets at the Braai area.
this could have been an outstanding place to stay if management took the time to ensure the accommodation was a grade 8.5.
We were not even greeted by the owner at breakfast who sat in his office next to the dining area.If his business meant something to him then he should have had the courtesy to greet his guests & enquire after their comfort.

It is unfortunate that you did not enjoy your stay overall, and for that I apologise. However, there are a few issues that need clarification. We are glad that you enjoyed the breakfast and the staff. We spent the Covid lockdown completely renovating the bathrooms. Regarding insect bites - this is mid summer and we have had a lot of rain. There are a lot of mosquitos around, and most travellers know this and bring repellents with them. The plastic chairs at the braai area are weathered - but they are not dirty. i personally wipe them down in the evenings, and am 100% sure of this. I bought 2 new barbecue grids in December because the old ones were definitely looking the worse for wear. The guests could have chosen to use the new ones. The communal kitchen and toilets should have been cleaner. Apologies for that. The water dispenser had just broken and I was looking at it to see if I could repair it. But it should not have been kept there. We now have a new dispenser. Finally, apologies from me as I did not look after you as well as I should have. Unfortunately I had recently had a Covid infection, and my energy levels were very low .

This is a very nice place. The service is excellent and very friendly. The room itself needs some refurbishment, but everything is very clean.
The farm is close to the Addo in between citrus fields, but the location does offer no so much. Great is the natural pool.

Keith and Nondumiso were so welcoming during our very short stay. It’s perfectly located aside Addo Elephant Park. The freshly squeezed mandarin juice served with breakfast was the best I’ve ever tasted!

I wish we could've stayed longer. The hosts were so kind and welcoming. Breakfast was huge! Self-catering facilities seemed excellent though we ended up eating dinner out for other reasons. So peaceful, too.

Friendly, informative hosts, beautiful location, very close to Addo Elephant Park. We stayed in a wonderful thatched cottage and enjoyed tasty breakfasts with a good choice of dishes. Even homemade honey and orange juice. Delicious.
As well as the delightful accommodation and the Friendly dog we also enjoyed sitting around the log fire and learning about the challenges of organic citrus.
We would certainly come again.

We were allowed to stay here from November 9 to November 12, 2023.
What a wonderful place to stay. Beautiful garden, great stay, and there was a communal kitchen where you could cook yourself a delicious meal and then eat it around the campfire.
Breakfast was taken care of down to the last detail, and if you wanted something early you were given something tasty.
The hostess Nondumiso and host Keith made you feel very welcome.
We were able to stay at 10 locations last November, this one is definitely among the top 3, so it is highly recommended.
Nondumiso and Keith and all the people who work there, THANK YOU SO MUCH.
On behalf of Marie Therese, Joop, Anita and Jan Willem.
