Dave and Judy welcome you to Avoca River Cabins. Avoca, meaning "the meeting of the water," is situated in the beautiful Sundays River Valley. This citrus farm has self-catering Riverside chalets, a Tree House and Mud Huts in tranquil surroundings. We are 20 minutes from the main entrance to the Addo Elephant National Park. Take a plunge into the river, do some fishing, or paddle on a canoe. Ideal for nature lovers and birdwatchers! Children welcome!
We had the most amazing two nights here, from the information email that details what to bring to the hospitality on site, we stayed in the peaceful 6 sleeper and the kids had a lovely time in the ample playground and pool, definitely going into our annual to visit list. Thank you Avoca!

Our reception was very welcoming and pleasant. The staff were very helpful and couldn’t do enough. The cabin was furnished with everything you would need. The view from the cabins was truly amazing and peaceful. The only slight issue I had was that some of the wooden steps to the cabin needs attention. I would definitely recommend for future stays.

We enjoyed our overnight stay at Avoca, coming directly from Addo national park. We were enthusiastically welcomed by Riaan, who explained everything very well to us. The beautiful setting overlooking the Sundays River with lovely garden & numerous birds was idyllic & so peaceful. We chose to have dinner in Avoca dining room & enjoyed a very tasty home-cooked meal. Really delicious! Tracy was very friendly & we spoke about my Eastern Cape roots & how good it was to be back. Linda's friendly service & delicious food was appreciated by us all. We had a good night's rest & loved our sunny deck with more birdsong, to enjoy a leisurely breakfast. We were reluctant to leave this peaceful farm environment, bit our homeward journey back to the Cape beckoned. We will definitely return next time we visit the Addo area. Thank you so much! Jill & Jim & our Irish friend, Lyn. …

We loved our time at Avoca. It is beautiful & scenic on the farm & cabins are right along the river. Definitely a place to unwind & relax. Will definitely be coming back again. Hospitality was great & hosts & staff very friendly. For parents with kids attending the camps at Riversong farm, this is a great & close place to stay as it is the farm next door. We stayed here while our daughter attended her camp.

This stay lacked nothing. The host was friendly, the surroundings were beautiful (perfectly green grass and many flowers), relaxing massages, and the cabin was spotless and nicely decorated. There are orange and lemon orchards where you can pick as many as you can reach. Reasonably priced and well worth it. Distance from Addo Elephant Park is a small drive but definitely doable.

Avoca appeared to be a lovely place as presented on the internet. We were unpleasantly surprised on entering our chalet. It was probably not a good sign that Heinrich immediately wanted us to pay the outstanding amount for our 2 night’s accommodation on arrival before even viewing the chalet. The chalet must have been lovely years ago but now it looks tired and neglected. The fridge stank like something had decomposed in it. The chalet had a overall smell of cat urine. There was only 1 dinner plate. The built in stove plates didn’t work and a dirty free standing one was provided. There was no solar light or even candles for times of load-shedding. We had a nice braai area but there were discarded boxes and ash dumped on a slope to the side of it. The night after leaving there we stayed at a clean well appointed hotel including breakfast at a cheaper rate. I felt like we had been ripped off. On leaving I gave the Avoca information brochure to Heinrich to be destroyed hopefully. It was dog-eared, drink and food-stained and pages stuck together with food remains. How sad to read about the history and dreams of the family who built Avoca in an unsanitary dirty brochure. …

This cabin is DEFINITELY not for 4 adults. The upstair room's beds are so bad and you can hardly stand upright. Luckily 2 of the adults were young, so they could get upstairs and sleep there, but if we were 4 elderly adults, the upstairs room would not be fit. The fridge are in a terrible state, there was a dirty cloth lying in one of the chairs. The outside surroundings are beautiful, but the acconmodation not so good.

We found the Avoca River Cabins so tranquil and relaxing and well equipped. The surrounding gardens are magnificent and we saw dassies and blue vervet monkeys on our walks up to breakfast in the mornings. There were Egyptian geese on the river banks and a pair of resident mongoose feeding on the immaculate lawns. The staff were super friendly and the food was great. We would definitely return but for longer !

We were two families that traveled to Addo and stayed at Avoca, what a beautiful place from the Host Riaan to the stunning scenic accommodation. The kids loved the activities and the adults loved the fact the kids were occupied lol. Will surely go back there.
