What a wholesome friendly gem. The owner as well as every single staff member gladly treated us as family, we had a lovely meal for dinner and the best breakfast served on our own little picturesque patio. Our comfortable well appointed room had a lovely river view and
the birdsong can be heard long into the night and the stars we saw at night are the only thing brighter than my smile when we had to say goodbye.
We will be back, our stay was too short and will be a fond memory for a long time.
Thank you for treating us with open arms!!

Business stay, combined with pleasure. The service is exceptional. Hilsa, Stefan, Liezel and the whole team walks the extra mile with a constant smile and positive attitudes all the way.
The rooms are comfortable, white linen, electric blankets, homemade rusks and filter coffee in my room .... strong WIFI connection, comfortable desks to work at in the evening.
The surrounding is just what you need after a hardworking day and the food is absolutely devine!

We have stayed twice on our way to/from Namibia and found the place to be delightful and personal. Our room was spacious, excellent king size bed, clean and quiet. The super served simple and tasty. Good wi-fi and cable tv.

We could not fault the value for money offered and feel that the place is an oasis in a sea of tomatoes and vines.

The location and food aspects of this stay were great - the room leaves much to be desired at over R2,500.00 per night (including food). The room was advertised at 20 square meters but in reality it was no more than 16 square metres with no hanging space at all. Food and service were the highlight of this trip, however! Vacuuming under the bed and behind the fridge and table have not taken place in months.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the most fabulous host, Stefan. He went above and beyond, keeping brilliant communication going and nothing was too much effort for Melkboomsdrift. We loved absolutely everything about this place and would return in a heartbeat!
The swimming pool, restaurant (breakfast and dinner), rooms and facilities are beautiful and tastefully decorated.
We booked rooms 3-5, and every single one of them was impeccable and comfortable. Room 4 was a favourite, having self catering amenities, which came in handy when making use of one of the lovely communal braais on the property.
Malcolm (waiter and barman) is so friendly and welcoming!

I travelled with my daughter and her nanny, was provided with all extra services I needed including a family room ,taking food to our room for nanny and baba.Total bill for all extras was very affordable. I still had a meeting on the day of our check out and the property gave me late checkout so my daughter and nanny were safe in the house.
The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen very convenient. Our stay was very comfortable.

We had a glorious stay thank you very much! Sending out WhatsApp messages to confirm dinner reservations and providing the menu for the evenings are an excellent idea. Stefan and Liezl are excellent hosts , not only for the guesthouse, but also for the tourism industry (such as providing digital maps of the area), and advising on different types of routes for the best flower watching of the season as well as the conditions of the roads of that particular area. The overall service of the dining room staff and cleaning staff was also of a high standard our - overall stay was a lovely experience indeed!

We stayed at Melkboomsdrift and found it to be a good spot for an overnight stay. The accommodation is clean and comfortable and the owners and staff are very friendly. We booked a 2 course dinner at R 200 per person and found the food to be mediocre. There was no first course or dessert offered and after having to ask for dessert, my husband was brought some ice cream with chocolate sauce. Definitely not worth R 200 per person for a 1 course meal.
