About
Description
The more remote North Rim offers up its beauty and solitude to those willing to make a little longer trek to cooler temperatures and greener vegetation of the Grand Canyon's less visited rim. Time means little More here in this Nirvana for nature lovers…abundant forest beauty and wrap-around scenic splendor as sheer walls hold in the Colorado River a mile below. The only developed lodging within the National Park’s North Rim boundaries this historic treasure has cabins and lodging tucked into the trees and dotting the canyon edge. The historic dining room with wall to ceiling windows gives diners the unique opportunity to take in the Canyon's views and tasteful regional and sustainable delights for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Reservations are recommended. For guests seeking a unique remembrance of their visit to this special place, there is a gift store and convenience store located at the North Rim. Authentic Native American handcrafts, jewelry and merchandise that is U.S.A. made by local and regional artists provide an array of gift items for guests to the Grand Canyon. Smell the pines, listen to the fluttering leaves of quaking aspen, and keep an eye out for a California condor, the largest bird in North America. The North Rim of the Grand Canyon is only open from mid May to mid October. Less

I get it. It’s the wild wilderness of northern AZ. This place is like the Overlook Hotel from The Shining (giant log construction and mason work and it’s closed 7 months out of the year with caretakers working and not playing). But the place needs...More

We stayed here in September as part of a West Coast road trip. The North rim was one of my highlights of the entire trip, the view from the main lodge is just outstanding and better yet, not too busy (unlike the South side) Do...More

We stayed at the lodge on north rim for 1 night prior to our rim to rim hike. We were in a cabin, and it was quaint and comfortable and provided everything we would expect... No problems with the cabin... We wanted to do something...More

I only saw the cabins from the outside but they somehow seemed nice than the ones where we had stayed before on the South Rim. Everything about this area is incredibly beautiful. It is much more remote and less crowded than other parts of the...More

Rented 2 cottages for a rim to rim hike, and we've never stayed or visited the north rim. This is more amazing than the south rim; less populated, more rustic not touristy, lot of trail to choose from if you're not a hard core hiker....More

Very few of the cabins have a view. We were in a 1 bedroom with queen and single so I don’t know about the twos. The cabins are small but comfortable.
