Basic hotel. No kettle but there is a toastie maker. You have to pay for air con and safe and to use sunbeds. But we went on the beach infront of cheers bar. If you brought a drink etc it was free. We ate at cheers everyday too. This place is right smack bang on the beach, so room balcony over looking the beach is fabulous. It is also very clean. If I came back to zante. I would definetly 100% stay at villa grimani again
Rather than a hotel, this is the typical Greek establishments offering rooms with bathroom and a kitchenette. It is located on the very beach of Laganas, on the western end of the large bay. Its best feature is no doubt the location, which is unbeatable if your objective is to spend time on the beach. Plus, it is only a few sandy steps from shops, restaurants, etc. The rooms are basic, with beds that are not very comfortable, as is often the case in Greece. The kitchenette offers essential cooking utensils but zero supplies of staples (no salt, oil, etc). There was not even a soap bar in the bathroom. There is a small drip coffee maker which is handy. The rooms are air conditioned and have a balcony, which is very nice to use for breakfast and dinner, or just to enjoy the view of the sea. It is great to fall asleep at night hearing only the noise of the waves lapping the shore. Hotel guests can use the umbrella and chairs on the beach for 6 euros a day. The beach in this area is very narrow, and only one row of umbrellas exists. The owner/manager, Zoe, was nice and very helpful. I had to leave my room by noon but my flight was in the evening, and she was able to let me use another room to take a shower before going to the airport. As for the rest, I found Laganas to be quite expensive. The 8km, 8 min. ride from the aiport by taxi is 17 euros. Lunch or dinner in a beachfront restaurant was between 20 and 30 euros (and unfortunately the meals were often memorable for all the wrong reasons). What was not expensive and great value for money was the round-the-island cruise I took once for the day, which takes you around the island of Zakynthos to see the sights and to swim in breath-taking beaches and waters. It was only 20 euros. All in all, it was a good holiday and I would definitely do it again.…
