As usual in Japan, rooms are very small, opening luggage is little bit difficult. 8 minutes walk from Hakata station. Hotel located next to river and not so much traffic in front of it, so to rest it is suitable. With a short walk you can reach to many restaurants and coffee shops at Hakata station.

We were staying for 3 nights and got very good service. Rooms were very clean and had everything we need to spend a good stay. The location is excellent. We just walked from Hakata station only for 10 minutes. Good thing is the way to the hotel is paased by bus station. So you got one more option to travel around.

My wife, daughter and I stayed at AREA ONE in April 2015, a 2000 Yen taxi from Fukuoka airport took about 15 mins, the staff are friendly and very helpful. Our room was typically small for western standards but normal for Japanese, the breakfast was excellent, the food was tasty ,varied and Japanese, when in japan eat Japanese. The train and bus station are a 7 minute walk away, as is a convenience store, just turn right out of the hotel then left over the bridge. There is a computer in the lobby to use, the staff were very helpful in getting the English language accessed for my daughter to keep in touch with friends. We stayed one night and enjoyed our stay.

Hotel was small but comfortable. Great if you're on a budget. Only 5 minutes from Hakata station and shopping areas. Buffet breakfast was great and well worth it. Staff are helpful and friendly. There two bikes that you can use for free which are a lot of fun. Only real issue (and I'm just being fussy here) was the door. Maybe it was just our room but the door was hard to close as the chain lock would always get jammed in the way. Only one key given per room. Also there was no automatic locking as the rooms still used a physical key so you just had to be onto it.
