They seem to have very bad reviews in earlier years but seems like they had revamped everything recently? i stayed here for a night for only 2000yen for 2 pax (with no campaign) and didnt expect much due to the cheap price but everything was great. Rooms were clean, the bathroom a little small but clean and with all the necessary amenities. Check-in was on the 10th floor, quick and efficient- pay and get your room cards using a machine. Check-out, just deposit your key/card in the box inside the elevator. No hassle! Located in a small and quiet street but yet just few minutes walk from the yatai/shopping area.

We came to Hakata to visit a friend and see some of the great traditional Kamata Festival. We stayed at the Marine Hotel two nights as it was near our friends place and very central to a lot of the festival activities. The hotel has been there many years so nothing flash. Room size was ok with comfortable beds but one of the smallest bathrooms we have ever had, it was clean and water pressure good. It was nice that our room was done each morning and we got clean towels each day . Breakfast was Japanese style, it was brought to the table on a tray some of it nice some not to my liking. The staff were very polite and in the foyer there was free tea and coffee and cold water at all times. There was free wifi so that was good. To sum up it suited our needs for a couple of nights,

This is a business hotel that is run down and ready for demolition. Everything in the room is stained from something. I am not usually concerned about the dirty floors in hotels, but this is the first time I couldn't bear putting my feat down on the carpet, even in socks. It just looked like it was hundreds of years old. The bed also could be better used for kindling than for sleeping. The old spring mattress feels like you are sleeping directly on the springs. They are all protruding and making noise when you get on the bed. So, I was glad that I was tired enough to actually sleep for a few hours. The location is also very poor. It is not really near the main train stations and requires at least a 15 minute walk to get there. This is a last resort kind of hotel. If you have another choice, take it.
