ATKV Goudini Spa offers a range of experiences, with its rooms receiving mixed reviews on their design and cleanliness. Guests appreciate the well-maintained pools and facilities; however, some note the lack of essentials and maintenance issues. The resort's value for money has been questioned, with calls for renovations and improved amenities. Visitors find themselves divided over the atmosphere, fluctuating between vibrant entertainment and enforced quiet. Service encounters vary, with commendations for staff professionalism amid criticisms of poor communication. Cleanliness is generally praised, although certain areas could benefit from more thorough attention.

When i went to reception to pay on Thursday the lady that assisted me didnt even give me the password to the wifi wasnt friendly at all.
Me and 2 of my sons suffer from asthma it got very bad on our holiday and the resort didnt have any medical supplies to help us either .

Our stay was only for 1 night but it was fairly enjoyable until I realised that we did not pack in beach towels. When requesting whether we could borrow or purchase towels the supervisor advised that they do not have towels to supply us and apparently this is not included with your rondawel stay. As we arrived on a Sunday and the shop on site was closed, we had to wait for the following day to go to the dorp to buy towels. We decided to leave the very next morning. Can I suggest that the reception area or supervisor on duty have access to assist guests with beach towels in future at a nominal fee ofcourse. This will be appreciated.

We enjoyed our stay and the resort was not packed due to Covid protocol. It's a beautiful setting and even though there was a drissle we enjoyed the outdoor pool and water slide. There was a DJ this time who kept the kids occupied, The Rondavel 19 fit our budget, and was close to the pool. Just make sure whether bath towels and dishcloths are provided for you before you come. Lights are dim and in winter Rondavel is on the cold side, so a heater would also do to heat the room. Matress in main bedroom is firm.

I am as a member of the ATKV very disappointed with my stay at the resort. On arrival at 15:30, the reception was closed, I received the key at the gate (no problem) and indicated that I will be leaving early, no problem was indicated (if I had paid my dues).

On arrival at Unit 7 the floor was wet due to the fridge being left open, we had to clean this mess as the reception was closed. The unit was, well how can I put it (compared to Eskom it was in a more sorry state) the blinds had seen better days, all the furniture was chipped, the braai area looked like it had been used as an Eskom furnace. It would appear as like Eskom no maintenance is done.

Staff was around racing in their golf carts. Loud music, noise etc was made until after 23:00, and no one seemed to care.

When I left the next morning, I was stopped at the gate and told to get an exit permit from the office. I asked for the Resort Manager at the office but it would appear as if he is working his own hours, many excuses were made for him by the staff.

Thee following night I stayed over at Forever Resorts Gariep, arrived at 17:30 was greeted at a friendly reception, had a well maintained accommodation (at a cheaper price), no noise and could leave early without having to find a resort manager.

Now I am contemplating if I should not rather cancel my membership at ATKV and rather use other facilities that are better maintained, and more welcoming to those that are paying their salaries indirectly?

We were most disappointed and only on complaining and paying extra did we manage to get satisfactory accommodations. A unit opposite our original booking had burnt down the week prior and we were not informed or moved, it stank, it was over priced and absolutely no towels or even cleaning detergents provided at almost R2000 a night, not on and not acceptable ATKV. We will never return

Our family of six spent 5 days at Goudini Spa and it was fabulous. We stayed in the Slanhoek Villas and even though it was expensive, it was worth it as it was quiet, had great views and the aircon in the room was a bonus.
Another HUGE BENEFIT of staying at Goudini are the load shedding generators that ran the entire resort.
Many pools, all different temperatures. Kids loved it. Lots of benches around but would be great if there were more pool loungers around instead of only 2. Parents also want to relax while the kids are swimming.

Where the resort fell short is that the restaurant is only open till 5pm. We are not pensioners. We eat dinner at 7pm so would be great if the restaurant was open from 8am till 8pm instead of 9am to 5pm.
The shop also has short hours and closes at 5pm.
The games room was a disappointment as there weren't any arcade games or play stations. The Table Tennis and pool tables did not have pool cues, balls or bats. When I enquired at reception they told me that I was meant to go to the indoor pool and find the person on duty to assist with equipment. Would have been great if there was some form of signage up to inform people. And d not waste your money on the machines (claw ones especially) as they are all rigged.

I tried to extend our stay by one night, which would have been a Friday night, and was told that to get Friday night, I have to pay for Saturday night too. WTF! I think they should offer better rates for longer stays.

But overall my family had a great time and we will be back for sure.

Booked an upgraded Rondavel for a peaceful get away for 3 nights.
When we got to the Rondavel on the 30 Aug 2021, the place was not properly cleaned. Fridge was still dirty, crumbs were on the kitchen counter, the place smelled like they had used a dirty mop to wipe the floors, the shower had hair in it, one of the towels in the bathroom were dirty and one of the blankets in the main bedroom still had tabacco on it.

This immediately gave us an uncomfortable feeling and we then cleaned the place as reception had already closed. We barely slept that night because we did not even know if we were sleeping in clean sheets.

The next morning, we stopped at reception to advise them of this and requested that they at least give us some clean blankets as we had already cleaned the place. The receptionist said that she is unable to do anything about it and advised the cleaning supervisor. We were told that they would call us before coming to the rondavel and confirmed that they had both mine and my spouses number on record.

Up until today, we have not received a call from the cleaning supervisor and did not receive clean blankets and were there until Thursday 02 Sept 2021.

My concern is that they have a strict check out policy of 10am to allow enough time for the cleaners to clean the places because of covid protocols, however we walked into a place we had to clean again. How are they then cleaning and adhering to covid regulations and sanitizing the area before new guests come in if the place was still dirty and the blankets and towels left there were clearly used and not washed.

This is the first and last time I will be visiting ATKV Goudini SPA and would not recommend them to any friends and family members. What a waste of money to go to a holiday getaway, only to go and clean the place when reaching there and having a terrible sleep for 3 nights because of being unsure that the place you're sleeping in and spending your time is ACTUALLY CLEAN.

Cleaner's were still cleaning while we were moving into the chalet (making beds, putting in fresh towels) asked me to take bags off my bed so that they can change bedding. Cleaners walked in without permission. The balcony was absolutely filthy with bird poo. Which they didnt clean throughout duration of our stay. Poor maintenance. Wardrobe doors creaks loudly. Toilet tissuer holders broken. Two leaking taps (kitchen & bathroom).

I visited with my 3 children ranging in age 19-13 years.
The staff and facilities were great. The constant cleaning services around the public spaces was visible and reassuring, without being intrusive.
The quality of the bedding and beds in the accommodation was a pleasant experience for the price and the unit was immaculate.
