Eensgevonden is set on a wine farm and consists of three stand alone cottages which are separated by dense vegetation creating privacy amongst the cottages, though also interlinked with paths to give accessibility to all three units for a large family group, such as ours. Sally and Douglas were very accommodating and made us feel at home from when we made the booking right through until leaving after our stay, Thank you.

The cottages easily accommodated our group of six adults and three children, and provided a relaxing stay for three nights.

With the Summer temperatures getting into the mid 30's (celsius) the 500m walk to a natural swimming hole was well received and appreciated.

The cottages themselves are well kept, tidy and provide what you need for self catering in regards to cutlery and cookware. The main town of Worcester is approximately 15 minutes drive and provides access to all the regular shops/supermarkets you would expect.

The surrounding trees provide a glimpse at the abundant birdlife in the area and provides for a nice natural alternative to tv. On point to note is (though not a negative in my opinion) is the wifi is boosted from the main residence which does drop off in signal in the second and third cottages. If you can't live without, it would pay to book the first cottage closest to the main home, otherwise ignore the outside world and enjoy the natural surroundings.

We spent 2 nights in one of the cottages at Eensgevonden and loved it very much. Our cottage had everything that we needed and was very clean. You can do nice walks on the farm and have some nice views over the vineyards of Rawsonville. The natural rock pool was refreshing on a hot day. Sally and Doug, the owners, are really lovely people to talk too. Sally and Doug, thank you very much for your interesting talks and we'll definitely be back!

Was like taking a step back to my childhood. So relaxing, beautiful working farm and paradise for my toddler. The mountain pool was enchanting and we go to see duikers, rock rabbit, spiders and incredible views. Amazing hosts who allowed my little one to feed the ducks treated us like family.

We booked late, in December/January peak holiday season, and we stuck golf. Cottages snuggled up against the mountainside. Clean , spacious and lacking in nothing to make our stay peaceful and relaxing.

My hubby is an avid MTBer, and I love hiking and trail running. We couldn't have been more spoiled for choice.

Douglas and Sally were ever so welcoming and I even got treated to a knowledge-imparting tour through the vineyards with Douglas. Our mission? Gather samples of chenin and chardonnay grapes for sugar level testing. Douglas tasted a grape and declared it at a level of 16.....the desired level for harvesting.... 22. They tasted just perfect to me!

But....honestly, the rock mountain pool a short hike from the cottages is what makes this little slice of paradise such a treat. We cooled off countless times in the clean, crisp water....what sublime chillaxing both after early morning exercise, midday as temperatures peaked and a late afternoon sunset drink. Truly a slice of paradise.

With our hosts recommending both eateries and wineries, we will confess to spending waaay to much on wines to enjoy and bring back memories at home.

We will most certainly be back. Thanks!

We stayed at Eendgevonden with our 2 small kids for about 6 nights over Christmas 2016 and had a wonderful wonderful time after all the busy pre-festive season stress. We enjoyed the peace and quietness, we loved the rock pool, we discovered the close by wine farms - we could not believe our luck. Thank you to the lovely hosts!

Eensgevonden nestles at the foot of the mountain about ten minutes east of Rawsonville, one and a half hours from Cape Town. I loved this place and have been back twice! Doug and Sally are exceptionally welcoming and charming hosts. The three cottages are about 300m from the main house but each is completely private and tranquil, with its own enclosed garden and braai area. The cottages are simple but tastefully furnished with everything you need. There's a small but deep mountain pool ten minutes walk behind the cottages for cooling off. It's a country retreat so don't forget to take some mosquito repellent in case you might need it.
A very important factor for me was that it's dog friendly. In fact Eensgevonden has been the only place that my pooch has ever felt 100% happy away from home. He wanders off on his own sniffing and exploring and is completely safe and at ease. The resident dogs are not a problem at all.
The added bonus is that Eensgevonden is on the doorstep of the truly spectacular Slanghoek Valley, just past Goudini Spa. There are several restaurants within 25 minutes drive.
It's the perfect getaway if you need a quiet few days away from the city. I'm looking forward to going back.

We spent 3 nights at the farm- really awesome setting. The cottages are well equipped. The views are fantastic- the shrubs around our veranda could have done with a trim to maximize the view. If you are there in the heat of summer, be prepared for the temperatures of the region- 42 degrees the day we left- there is no air conditioner in the cottage.

A wonderful tranquil location, from which one can explore the stunning local scenery. Our hosts were charming and very helpful. The cottage, which was simple, but very well equipped, was just what we wanted away from the hustle and bustle of Cape Town, and we were so glad that we chose this particular location instead of the more famous Stellenbosch and Franschoek accommodation. I would have loved a bit more of a view from our veranda to admire their stunning vineyards! - but apart from that, a lovely, relaxing stay, and one which I would highly recommend..

Eensgevonden is a very special place we loved at first sight! The farm is close to little mountains and you are surrounded by nature everywhere you go or watch. We stayed there with our 2 ½ year old daughter and we all loved the place. Our daughter was allowed to feed the ducks for example, dog Taffy came around, cats to pad, a rock pool to swim, ....
But it is not just the place that’s special, it’s also the people who own and run it who are special and who make it a little paradise. We felt so warmly welcomed. Everywhere their love to their land is obvious. Sally and Douglas you are special! We loved the little chats “at the fence”J.
If you stay there you have to order “breakfast in a basket”, it is delicious! Homemade bread, muffins, coffee, milk, fruit, jam, marmelade, … We ordered it for two and ate with two and a half and had always leftovers for the afternoon.
Absolutely worth staying there!
