Just 3 or 4 km from central Cape Town is the lovely Star Apartment. Clean, comfortable and convenient, this is a place that I'm definitely going back to. The space that the apartment provides, definitely trumps a hotel room. All appliances are provided and surroundings are safe.

Star Apartments is very well located - the Cape Town CBD is very close and it is located in a very quiet, safe part of Cape Town. The Mandela Gold apartment was very comfortable, clean and has a awesome view of the habour and some of the close suburbs. Ayesha and Hashim were very accomodating and they run a very professional operation. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a hassle free stay.

Firstly Booking.com needs to improve their rating checks.This is a 3 star property at best, if not less. 1. The view from the unit was nothing like the advertisement probably because we got a back unit, although the night lights were lovely. 2. The alarm system instructions were badly written, so the alarm went off one day. 3. The prepaid electricity was insufficient to charge more than one item at a time so we couldn't charge our mobile phones and leaving us with no hot water for showers on our last day. 4. The manhole timber surround fell, almost hitting one of our group on the head. It took several hours with two ill-equipped men to nail it back, with a ladder left in the hallway for several hours.The men used a hacksaw to cut timber, a spanner to knock in a few nails,

Dear Guest Thank you for taking the time to give us this review. We can only fix the problems when guests give us feedback whether its negative or positive. Let me respond to each complaint that you have outlined above. 1.We do not believe in deceptive marketing. Our website and booking.com clearly states the view that you will get. Harbour or Mountain. You chose the Mountain view apartment that costs considerably less. 2.We have had many guests using the alarm system which is a very easy system. This is the first complaint we have had in 10years. 3.If the prepaid electricity was insufficient you would have had no power at all. It might have been your charger that was faulty. Out of your stay of 6 nights on the last day you brought it to our attention that you did not get hot water for that day. We called our plumber who said it was an electrical fault. On the same day the electrician was called out he found the isolater was faulty. This was replaced the next day on the day you checked out. I sincerely apologise for this as you had no hot shower on the last day of your stay. 4.A side beading of the trap door did get dislodge during your stay which occured because of the high wind conditions we experienced during the period that you were here. I apologise for this and for the maintenance team who worked unprofessionally in repairing this. I will address it with them. 5. The towel rail is not meant to hang onto when one is getting up from the toilet , it might have become loose when one of our previous guests held onto it. We have now made it very secure. (but still not to be used as a hang rail) 6. Temporary measures were used to secure the tiles during your stay so to cause you less inconvenience. This was repaired properly after you left. 7. The stickers have been removed from the new shower. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. 8. The cleaning staff have been notified to not disturb guests who would like to sleep in. 9. telephone number of the one staff has been amended. Sorry about this. I came out personally when i was notified of your complaints. I did apologise and addressed all the complaints. I admit I did not offer any compensation. We have ample parking for all our guests and I am glad you used the extra parking provided for your large vehicles. It is only when we get feedback like this that we can better our services. This is constructive criticim.Thank you once again.
