After visiting Ubud, Sidemen, and Gili Air, we ended our honeymoon here and it was the perfect spot for us!

--Every staff member is a rockstar and SO beyond kind. Special shoutout to Kartika for making our room so special for our honeymoon and to her and Yuni for helping us out throughout our stay :) And thanks to Angga for scheduling us for a surfing lesson!
--The views are jaw-droppingly beautiful (even from only the 3rd floor of the hotel) and the rooms are clean, comfortable, and generously sized. I know some reviewers have commented on the hotel feeling dated, but I personally didn't notice. Everything felt modern and in good condition in our room and from what we saw in the hotel (I don't stay in hotels of this caliber very often though, so that could play a role in my perceptions).
--The 360 restaurant is good and the breakfast buffet is INSANE (in a really good way). SO many different options of sweet, savory, Indonesian, western, and everything in between. Ask for some local fruit at breakfast; they can cut it up for you.
--It's definitely walkable to town--there are some additional restaurants and cute shops a 10-minute walk from the hotel. It's a better walk for daytime, though. It's also walkable to Padang-Padang beach, but it'd be a little bit longer a walk and we ended up just getting a ride from the hotel.

Thanks Anantara for ending our honeymoon on such a high note!

Where shall I start? The extraordinary, super attentive staff, the Australian GM who greeted me on arrival or the ocean view suite with breathtaking views on the waves and surfers. There is a large Jacuzzi on the balcony and a shower with both rain shower and two hand-held shower heads. My room had twin beds and a huuuuge couch which would sleep another two. Every afternoon they tidy up your room and serve complimentary refreshments and a fruit platter. My friend arrived the next day and received a new fruit platter

The hotel itself was located straight on Impossible beach. You only have access to the beach by a lift operated by the hotel staff. The extremely friendly people will inform you whether the tide is low or high. You can walk to Padang2 beach and wade a bit to Bingin beach.

The breakfast was taken in a restaurant called Asia Pan. Another marvelous view on the Uluwatu coast and a well-prepared breakfast. This breakfast has two parts: A la carte with several types of prepared eggs, pancakes and banana fritters(pisang goreng). From the buffet you can get soto ayam or Indonesian chicken soup, bubur ayam or chicken porridge with coconut milk, fried rice and noodles.

Needless to mention is the extremely well thought out Covid and hygiene protocol. The menu could only be scanned by a mobile phone, capsules for the Nespresso machine and milk delivered to your room in small serves. People could only enter the lift with maximum 4 people and in the whole hotel there are friendly reminders to ask you to keep distance. I will definitely come back after Covid is over

Uluwatu and Canggu area is just a few spots in Bali that are still packed and vibrant during covid time, full with surfers visitors and "local bule" kind of visitors

We moved from Canggu to Uluwatu and stayed at Anantara, we were impressed

This is and old hotel, but you can tell it meant for a luxury hotel, we stayed in the Ocean View Suite on the top floor, with huge bedroom, with very big L shaped sofa, big balcony overlooking the ocean and outdoor jacuzi, big bathroom and the rooms is equipped with bose sound system

The bfast is still ok with quite many selection on order basis

We recommend to chose the high floor it is more private, the lower floor might offer you with better access to swimming pool and some has a private pool, but the are less private, people walking by in the public area can see through your room, and you dont need those private pool since the public pool is much better, bigger, and more photogenic anyway

Eventhough the hotel is beach front, but you can not expect the beach so much, especially with young children, Uluwatu are meant for surfers, with strong current and big waves, the hotel beach are narrow and limited open subject to the waves situation, they only allow you to go down to the beach when the waves are calm, and the water is on low tide to ensure safety

Be mindful the hotel is on a cliff, so there are a lot of steps up and down, not really for old people and weak, access to the beach require a lift to go down the hill..

The surrounding of the hotel is dark jungle , typical in Uluwatu area, so walking out or in at night is not the best option

Outside the hotel complex, on the main road are nice cafes and resto, they serves a very nice foods especially for healthy food and vegan ..

Nice experience staying here, considering to come back

Excellent stay at this resort with great view of the ocean and people surfing. We stayed in an oceanfront suite, which is spacious enough for a family of 4.

Staff members are super friendly, especially Arta in Botol Biru.

The hotel offers direct access to the beach by elevator from the pool area.

Staff are wearing masks, hand sanitizer is being offered and temperature checks on arrival. Spa follows a health protocol as well, it felt safe and had a good treatment.

Supposed to leave Bali after staying in Alila Ubud but we decided to stay two more nights after coming across Anantara Uluwatu on Chope application. They are doing a big promo, 1,800,000 for their standard room and 2,350,000 for their pool room. Booked one night each as the pool room is fully booked on 18 June 2021. (150,000rp more for weekend) Turn on to be a very big mistake. The lay out of the pool suite is so bad. The shower and the toilet is in one space. After taking shower the water may flow to the toilet space next to it. The private pool is one of the smallest private pool that ive seen. Unlike my previous 3 stays (Ritz Carlton Bali, Andaz Bali, Alila Ubud) there is no any surprise in this hotel. Maybe its because the hotel is more occupied than the previous 3. There is no tv channel here. The first night i had one of the best fried duck in their restaurant. (360 Restaurant) A five star experience. The second day though is a disaster. After finishing our lunch, they are not letting me charge the bill to my room. Maybe its because i switched room? The standard room is way way better than the pool room. The ocean view is astonishing. I booked their romantic concept dinner, “Dining by Design”
They decorated the dinner space very nicely and it would be one of my memorable experience. Unfortunately, disaster struck. There is a dead bug in my wife’s soup. When we made the complain, the waiter argued that it may just flew in as we were having dinner outdoor. If it just flew in it would still be struggling, not dead. I thought the manager or chef will come not to explain. None did.
This is will be my first time and last time staying in Anantara brand.
This is also the only hotel that is not allowing food order from outside the restaurant due to covid. Interestingly also the only hotel that run out of hand sanitizer in the elevator and ive to ask them to refill.

visited Anantara during pandemic times & grateful to be able getting special price for their 3BR Villas with Garden View. Downside was just that it’s near one of the bug temple there & so you’ll expect few monkeys lingering on your private pool (but worry not as you can get the staffs to help you with that)

the whole villa was so comfy that you can even fall asleep on their living room that are separated from bedroom. Main bedroom was perfect, very spacious included with a Jacuzzi Tub and they providing you with bubble bath soap as well. You can also get floating breakfast (with add charge) if you want.

Tips: do check prices from their staff directly, sometimes their doing a random sale

We stayed at Anantara Uluwatu for 3 nights in July and liked it so much that we came back in August for another 3 nights. The location is dramatic on the cliffs of Uluwatu with views that go on forever. An elevator takes guests down to the beach at low tide.

The suite rooms are large and very comfortable, and the bathtub on the balcony is perfect with a glass of wine and the sound of the waves. The breakfast is varied with Indonesian and western dishes, and all are very good.

Best, though, may be the staff. We had a couple of logistical issues, and the staff solved them quickly and did everything they could to make our stay perfect. We really hope to be back at Anantara in September.

I wish we had spent more than 4 nights at the Anantara. The cliff top location is so picturesque with beautiful views of the surf at Impossible beach and stunning sunsets. Our spacious Oceanview suite was huge and very comfortable.
Breakfast was a buffet with a great variety to suit all tastes, and also a menu to order healthy options such as pumpkin bread with smashed avocado and rocket, or an egg white omelette . I loved the deep purple-pink dragon fruit smoothie and strong Bali coffee to wake me.
I soon took to relaxing by the peaceful pools, where attentive staff would unfurl umbrellas , bring over towels and iced cucumber water, followed later by fresh fruit sticks. Happy hour was from 1-4 and Aperol spritz was the perfect way to go with a pizza or salad for lunch.
There are many steps to take getting back from the pool, so you need to be fit. It is also a 10-15 minute walk up to the main road and this is where I feel the hotel could offer a shuttle.
We took the shuttle which departs daily at 4.30, to Uluwatu Temple, and watched the sunset Ketchak dance.
I loved staying at the Anantara. Also a big thank you to Mr Fiktri and all the lovely staff members for looking after us so well.

We are so glad we finally were able to stay at this nice hotel. One of our family members is on wheelchair and after we made booking, we were told straight away by Reservation that this hotel is not suitable for us and that we should just cancel. Thankfully, ibu Putri helped us finding out alternative room arrangements with lobby access which allowed us to finally stay and enjoy what the hotel has to offer. Furthermore, ibu Putri went above and beyond her call of duty to coordinate with the relevant departments in ensuring that we have a comfortable stay throughout. She truly is a gem.
Apart from her tremendous assistance, we were also wowed by the amazing ocean view from the rooms, the restaurant and the pool. We can spend hours at the pool just looking at the calming ocean waves in the distance.
Overall, we are very happy with our stay and will definitely stay again, hopefully soon.

We booked the ocean view room which is on the same floor with the lobby. The resort is quite crowded, probably almost full capacity by the end of our stay there since the parking spots were fully occupied.

The room is spacious and is fairly clean. However it looked like it needs better maintenance since there are stains on the sofa, pillows and bedspread and the sidebeds are chipped.
Bed is on the harder side, but overall quite comfortable.

The staff took time to explain thoroughly about the room and facilities during our check in and it's good to be informed prior that the Jacuzzi's water is slightly yellow compared to the shower's.

Breakfast is good. You'll need to order ala carte during the pandemic but overall the taste is ok, service is great.

The room view though is dissapointing. Instead of ocean view, what we got was a roof covering the ocean behind it. The staff explaines that the roof was installed for the privacy of the rooms on the lower floor. But then why they advertise it as "ocean view" if we can't see the ocean?
We asked for another room, but he mentioned that all rooms are booked and anyway all "ocean view" rooms are the same except the 1st room but that room is without jacuzzi. So you need to choose between real ocean view or jacuzzi in your room.

The bathroom is also spacious but smelly. The smell lingered until we checked out (stayed there for 3 nights). Amenities are standard.

Sounds from neighbouring room can be heard, and one time someone played with the adjacent door knob so it's a bit annoying.
And going to the main pool and the beach are a pain due to stairs. We mainly just use the room's pool because of this.

Privacy is also something that can/need to be improved. Even swimming in the room's pool, people upstairs can just watch us and neighbouring rooms also can have a little peek to our pool area.

We took a walk to the main view public area but we actually can see the pool of the main villa (or the penthouse) from that spot. So better be careful with your privacy when taking a swim.

The ocean front suites are in the condo area and have uninterrupted views of the ocean. The ocean view suites are located a little further back in the main building and have mostly full ocean views especially the 3rd , 4th and 5 th floors.

HI Micaela There is a (long) ramp to the reception. All the rooms in the main building are accessible via a lift as are the main restaurants. The villas are down the stairs towards the ocean. The pool is unfortunately down the stairs in front of the villas which is a bit of a hike.
