We went here as a detour while driving from Francis town to Gaborone. Once we got there though we were told we couldn’t hike in the gorge because kids less than 6 y o are not allowed. It was kinda unclear why and it is not obvious on the website so we were a little disappointed given the fact that the detour was probably an hour from the main road. They did let us walk the first 500 m or so to a waterhole where we actually saw zebras and wildebeest. We will try to come back sans little children and do the real hike to the waterfalls. Instead of hiking we then went to the restaurant that had great views and wasn’t too pricey. Pool looked nice, as did the tents that are available to rent.

We came for a meeting at BIUST so picked the best lodge nearby. Rules for hiking the gorge are strict, but following them keeps it pristine. Recommend the luxury tent. Nicely done. Restaurant staff accommodated our requests as best was possible under covid-19. Leaving refreshed. Will definitely return.

We had 2 wonderful one night stays here. Accommodation was full when we booked so we stayed in a Meru tent at the campsite and it was outstanding. and very comfortable. The shower/toilet area was very clean and we were the only people in our camp site so it was extremely peaceful. We bought firewood at reception which was delivered to us by a very helpful young man and we were able to get boiling water for our coffee the next morning at the same place. The solar heated geyser provided plenty of very hot water. One just has to wait a while for it to arrive as the geyser is a little way off.
On our second stay we had dinner in the restaurant which was good but chilly sitting outside.

We were 5 families 10 adults and 12 children booked overnight camping at Goo Moremi. When we arrived the receptionist was surprised that we had 5 vehicles even though we sent all details of our group beforehand. We were then directed to the first campsite where there are permanent tents erected, making our camping area even smaller. We were told that someone will come check on us and take down some of the permanent tents if necessary. This never happened.
After we ate and got ready for bed, some new campers came in and set up on the sites next to us. They played loud music, yelled and laughed and revved their engines until 2am. Never did any of the Goo Moremi staff ever come by to silence them. I would not recommend this campsite to anyone if you want peace and quiet.
The campsite itself is nice with cement firepit, good braai and a washbasin with water nearby. There are two ablutions with toilet, wash basin and shower around 20 meter from the campsite.
We unfortunately arrived after 3pm and could not go on the guided walk.

Room Tip: Give this camp a skip. Rather stay in the chalets far away from camp.

We visited the waterfalls and restaurant. Waterfalls amazing. Like an oasis, hidden gem in the rocky/dry mountains. Food delicious. Bream and chicken wings yum.
Only negative is staff need to be clear about who can climb falls at the entrance. Paid for 2 older people, who don't have the stamina to climb them. The last rock climb needs to be made safer.

We booked a self catering chalet but was told on arrival they are not available due to being upgraded.
We were forced to eat in the restaurant. When we returned to our tent it had NO hot water! Super disappointed indeed, rather try another resort next time.

The chalet were smaller than expected but well furnished. Everything that we could have needed in the kitchen was available.
The biggest issue in the chalet though is the lack of light. There are 2 light bulbs in the room and they are really not strong. I had to use my torch when cooking and when looking for stuff. There are also no bed lamps so it makes it impossible to read a book in the evening.

The main door could not stay closed unless lock with a key and that was challenging.

Otherwise, the facility was nice for a night but I would not recommend spending longer there.

The hike to the gorge was beautiful but could definitely be done by oneself instead than with a guide. Moreover, the guide arrived 15mn late at the meeting point and when he saw us, he did not greet us and carried on chatting on his phone. That was not a great start. The induction was really brief and he did not explain the history behind the area - which is a pity. He however then made a lot of effort in looking for birds. His bird call knowledge was very good.

It's a good place to stop for one night when travelling from A to B. If the chalet were a bit more lighthen up and there was a possibility to go around without a guide, it would be great to stay for a week-end.

Well appointed tent with excellent outside bathroom. Guided tour of the Gorge also very interesting. Safety in the Gorge itself isn't the best and the walk would not suit the elderly. There are a number of "scrambles" on the way to the 3rd level.

The restaurant food isn't good to be frank. The vegetarian options in particular are simply unappealing.

But on the whole it was fine. Its a weekend kinda thing. More than two days....take lots of books and jigsaws.

The family stayed at Kgosipedi self-catering cottage. The cottage was clean and the Resort had set-up to our exact request. The bird-life and the views of the hills are amazing. Definitely planning a second visit with hiking gear in tow.

This place is a gem! We stayed in the luxury tents and enjoyed the privacy. The staff are very friendly and polite. The gorge is amazing and our guide Kesi is the best. Very very knowledgeable about the history of the place as well as the flora and fauna. Took great pictures too! A very rewarding adventure!!!! Top stars from me.
