We stayed in Sunbird cottage for 5 nights. Our boys are 3 and 6, which are good ages for the cottage (steepish downhill to cottage, steps leading to cottage, balustrades can be climbed through, boys will be boys!), if you have younger little ones perhaps rather consider the Apple Cottage ;-). The cottage is well appointed with everything you may need, lovely bath and outside shower which the boys enjoyed thoroughly. Short walk through the olive groves to the waterside and jetty, great for a swim and a paddle with the kayaks. Over easter weekend there was quite a lot of boats and skiing/watersports which can be expected, we enjoyed the first few days of quiet though! Fresh eggs every day, lovely baked bread and the best rusks you'll ever have available from the farm stall on site. We also enjoyed the Chilli relish and Jalapeno sauce, home made lemonade as well as the olives, yum! The herb/veggie garden is lush and all the hard work going into responsible organic farming, composting and maintaining the grounds are just awesome. We also met Oscar the horse and Joseph the donkey, the kids explored the chicken pens and ejoyed seeing the huge granadillas and lemon tree (and sampling them, ofcourse!). A very impressive array of chilli's are grown, great for the afficionado. Karen and family, thank you for a lovely stay, and allowing our hooligans to explore!

We stayed in Sunbird for two nights. It is in a beautiful setting and we slept so well. It is an organic farm and you can buy olive and other products from the farm shop. We arrived after some very welcome rain, the milkwoods smelt so good. The owners Karen and John are very welcoming and friendly and it is a great place to stay, two nights was too little.

Love the peace and quiet, its called a guest farm and they treat you like a guest, offering you fresh baked bread, and vegetables from the garden, making sure you are comfortable, allowing you use of the kayaks, life jackets and canoes. It was such a pleasure to stay there, close enough to the sea (20 min drive) but nestled in a beautiful valley, facing a tranquil river and staying in a spotless cottage with every consideration for their guests. You can drive out and enjoy the local attractions and come back "home" to sit on the veranda and enjoy the sunset.

This was our second stay at Wild Olive Farm and we absolutely loved it....thanks again Karen and John for creating the most tranquil space, nature on our doorstep. Thank you for the lovely organic goodies, my mom can't stop talking about the olive bread!! Apple Tree Cottage is spacious and very comfortable - we loved the terrace, the outside shower and the views of the river! The boys had a great time on the river, lots of memories made with grandpa in the rowing boat! Snowy our dog was most intrigued by the four legged friends (horse and donkey) on the other side of the fence! A big thanks also to the amazing doctor in Stilbaai for being so cool - removed the fish hook from our boys' leg and didn't charge us a cent... can't believe it!! Absolute country hospitality - at its best! Uys/Kearns family

A beautiful cottage above the river, organic veggies and jams and pickles in the shop as well as fresh bread baked to order. We had an AMAZING and RELAXING break. We were offered canoes to paddle on the river, walking trails were suggested and the staff were SO friendly we will DEFINITELY return to this little piece of heaven on the river.
