We initially booked 3 nights but ended up staying 6 nights! Eveleen the owner is one amazing lady! She made us feel welcome and at home! Our suite/ was beautiful with absolute attention to detail! Even our washing was done without any extra cost! Wifi worked 110% The view from our room was stunning. Eveleen once again thank you for a great stay....

We have just spent three wonderful nights at the Buttercup. Made so welcome by Eveleen with coffee and home made biscuits whilst she explained everything. Everything we wanted or needed was in the room - even towel and umbrella for the beach with instructions on where to sit according to the wind direction! Our room was extremely comfortable and the breakfast amazing - french toast with grilled banana to die for! Staff were lovely and washing done free of charge! Excellent wifi service. We had an upstairs room which was really nice in the late afternoon. Highly recommend.

We just spent the most amazing three days staying with Evaleen at The Buttercup. The warmth of the welcome showed to myself and my wife still resonates. Beyond the beautiful beachfront setting, the lovely home filled with exquisite antiques and treasures, the fabulous breakfasts and the sensation of being lulled to sleep by the sound of the rolling surf was the kindness shown to us by our host. From helping with sightseeing and restaurant advice to looking after our laundry we were pampered and spoiled by Evaleen. We truly felt part of the household for our short stay and cannot say enough about the quality of the accomodations and how well we were treated. I have no reservation in highly recommending The Buttercup to anyone who is looking for a relaxing holiday in stunningly beautiful surroundings.

Wonderful position with great views over the river estary and the wide bay. Eveleen made us truly welcome and really made us feel relaxed and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were a delight and our room was very comfortable with everything you could possibly think of provided. Breakfast was ordered the previous evening and was a pleasure sitting looking across the bay. A very short walk from The Buttercup is Die Lapskuit an excellent fish restaurant loved by the local. Our only regret was that we were not able to stay longer.

The house is perfectly located for great views over the lagoon, particularly from the upstairs verandah. As mentioned in other posts, the hostess has a lovely relaxed manner about her and the accommodation is spotless but casual. So maybe the wifi could be better - you can't connect from the rooms. Breakfast is ordered by item the previous afternoon and was just fabulous. If you like classic, homely B&B stays, then this is for you.

It felt like staying at Grandma's beach house, more a home than a hotel. You're be lucky to have such a grandma. She's friendly and eager to help. You get a basket with towels for the beach, a small bottle of wine and delicious breakfast (order what you want the day before). The house is steps away from a small swimming beach. Stillbay is extremely quiet, there isn't much going on. Good for relaxing. It is the complete opposite of cities with high security. The room we got was not super clean, but we had direct access to the large living room/lounge area with a balcony. Lots of books and old magazines (I found one from 1984!)

We were Buttercup's last guests of the season. The lady of the house, Eveleen, welcomed us as if we were family and made us feel so comfortable. Her accommodation is spick and span, warm and homely. We were lulled to sleep by the sound of the surf, were served sumptuous five star breakfasts with the most stunning views of the mouth and in general, could not have asked for a more pleasant and restful time away. Eveleen was caring and attentive without being at all intrusive. She proved to be a great ambassador for her seaside town as places of interest were mentioned to us, as were suitable eateries and tempting retail opportunities in the area. None of these disappointed. A highly recommended experience.

Staying here was like staying at a good friends house, extremely welcoming and comfortable. Evelyn really made you feel at home. The room was spotless with a great view of the bay, with a lovely comfortable bed. We were advised on a fantastic place to eat, which didn't disappoint, which when you don't know the area is great. A lovely safe place to stay which would be excellent for children as a lovely safe beach is just across the road. Fantastic!
