We stopped at Colesberg and spent the night and continued trip the next day going down and coming up. Rooms are excellent and very clean the parking is very convenient as you don't need to unpack all baggage as is in a secure area.
The patrons are very friendly and helpful if we needed and info or service they obliged with a smile.
Good value for money and the bonus is the best lamb and steaks in Colesberg Bordeaux Restaurant on your doorstep

The room was clean and neat. This was extremely important to us during the covid pandemic

Marlene and Pieter are great hosts and made us feel very welcome. If you are looking for a stop midway to Johannesburg or Cape Town this a good place. Value for money.

This is our first choice stay over establishment for our yearly trip to the cape. The family rooms are not overly big but have everything we need and comfortable beds. The main reasons this is our first choice is Cafe Bourdeaux on site which has the best food in Colesberg- their food is actually one of the highlights of our yearly trip, it is pet friendly and there is a great play area for the kids.

We booked here and they didn’t give u the room we booked at all. We booked as paid for a quadruple room - large with a tv and garden for our dogs.
We got give a tiny room with no tv, no seating area at all and no garden for the dogs whatsoever.
Very basic. We couldn’t wait to leave.

The rooms are made from prefabricated drywalling and EVERY sound within a 50m radius of the room gets reverberated and amplified. There is a restaurant nearby and every car door that gets slammed shut is clearly heard. The neighbouring rooms activities are also to heard. Its a cheap design and i didnt sleep much last night. It was like (trying) to sleep in a speakerbox. Other than that, the rooms are clean but very basic and small.

We experienced true Karoo hospitality on both our stays at Hazeldene. Clean and comfortable rooms, ask for room #1. Our requests were all accommodated.
Also ask about the grape vine planted in the 19th century.

Just book! You will never regret it! The food is just amazing. The restaurant #Bordeaux is within walking distance from the room. The bobotie meal and lamb chops we had were 5 star. We always sleep over at Hazeldean in #Colesberg.
The room is extra clean, lovely great quality linen. The beds are just the best! Warm and friendly owners. Warm and friendly staff.
Thank you to the owners to go out of your way to make their guests feel welcome!
May you be blessed in 2019 to be fully booked! You deserve that with this quality accommodation you provide. Alex and Marianna Smith

My first time at this guesthouse. Very neat and clean and the owners are truly warm and friendly. Had a lovely, decently portioned lamb curry. I left the sliding door open to my room due to the heat (Not a fan of aircons) and ended up with a room filled with mozzies. i send the owner a sms quite late at night and was not expecting any response. Great was my surprise when there was a knock on my door with a lady handing me some bug spray. I was impressed. Definately worth a visit. The safe parking was great as I had a car packed to the roof and safe, secure parking was a must. There was no need to check on my car once. Restaurant on the premises, which is great if you just spend hours behind the wheel.

Clean large rooms for one or 4 people! Safe off street parking. Very helpful and friendly staff. Easy to find and with the convenience of a lovely restaurant right next door. The owner and his wife really make you feel very welcome and the bar had ice cold beer! Will definitely stop there again if I have to do that trip again. I left a R4500 pair of sunglasses there and I just had them couriered back last week so was very impressed. THANKS SO MUCH!
