We decided to book over night accommodation with this establishment due to Jan Braai for Erfenis. The supper was terrible. They forgot about our order, that is the only thing that we can think happened. They offered green beans, sweet patato, lamb tjops and mash and chicken snitchel and wedges with salad. About 45 minutes after our order was placed we were informed that no mash was available and it would take to long to prepare mashed patatos. They asked whether they could offer an alternative. We asked for patato wedges. Our food arrived almost an hour after the order was placed. No green beans. The beans was replaced with Broccoli and carrots in some sort of white sauce, the lamb tjops were nothing but fat, hardly any meat, the snitchel was just a normal chicken breast in a sort of crumb and the portion was the same as one chicken breast. Surely no snitchel, they should read up about chicken snitchels. The wedges were totally underdone. Terrible, terrible, terrible! We went to bed hungry. The poor waitress tried her level best by apologizing for the mess. We will most certainly never stay here again!

The main benefit of Merino Inn is that there is a restaurant on site so after a long trip, made it easy to get a really good meal.

The rooms however have very thin walls and we could hear our neighbours conversation so rather a disturbed night of sleep. A simple solution to the cold floor would be placing rugs alongside the beds as stepping onto the tiles was quite a shock to the system. Overall it was clean and the wifi worked well, particularly as I had to work when we arrived.

Internet as advertised, does not work. So you are left with watching TV.... Only problem is you only have ETV, the Cartoon Channel and Kyknet. Lighting in rooms are not adequate as it's only at the door entrance. Complaining about the the WiFi and TV to reception is pointless as they always only say they will send someone to look at it, I never saw anyone in this week yet. Utensils are not cleaned when they clean the rooms, prepare to have dirty spoons and cups when you arrive back, all other guest houses clean those btw. So if staying longer than a day, bring own entertainment.

A very quaint old Hotel/Motel with all the old world charm. The newly renovated rooms in E block are comfortable and clean
Dinner service in the restaurant was an amazing experience with generous portions of delicious lamb and at very reasonable prices.

Service was efficient and friendly

Right by the highway, with very spacious and newly revamped rooms, featuring two double beds and superb bathroom fittings, I thoroughly recommend this stay. The second sitting for dinner is at 7pm and the kitchen closes at 8pm. Room service can be ordered up until 7:30pm. The roast leg of lamb is typical Karoo lamb and really good!! Staff is friendly and efficient. There’s a swimming pool for the kids, lawns to run around on and DSTV. It’s best to call for a room.

We did not stay, but opted to attend their Father's Day lunch. What a disaster! We were only 5 tables, but they ran out of starters. We ordered the wrapped chicken fillets (x2) that were RAW & my fillet steak was not medium rare, but BLOOD RARE. Our waitress did not visit our table for drinks orders & we had to go in search of her to place our orders. We live in the district & really want to support our local restaurants, but this has just made us change our minds.

Stayed overnight to and from Johannesburg/cape Town. Room was clean and restaurant food simple but delicious. Only drawback was slow service from the bar. Good facilities for families with children. Loved the Karoo Lamb dinner

Rooms dilapidated. Duvets old and badly stained. looked dirty, but were clean. Not impressed at all. Will not stay there again. Did not have any meals there. Only 6 items on the dinner menu so not sure of the quality. Dining room and veranda area was fine and looked clean.
