I would stay here again and recommend it. It's simple and clean and easy to find. Comfortable bed, good shower pressure and nice set-up. The hostess Marie was very welcoming and helpful. She recommended a place for us to have dinner and directed us well. The room is not very big but the facilities are more than fine for a short stay. Some milk for coffee in the morning would have been nice. There was a kettle and coffee making facilities but no coffee creamer or milk. There was a jug of something in the fridge but it was solid. No soap or toiletries provided except a small broken tube of body wash. There was some traffic noise from big trucks during the night, but it wasn't bad. These were small drawbacks but overall it was a comfortable stay.

Booked and paid for my accommodation 3 weeks before travel date. When i got to the accommodation the manager of the guesthouse was not aware of my booking. She then called the owner(who i had spoken to and send my POP to) The owner then said she was not aware of the booking as her computer crashed. On the request of the manager the owner then checked on her phone to validate my booking. While this was going on I sat in my car outside with 2 sleeping and tired kids and the rest of my family at 9:30pm. We waited for another 30 mins when the manager came out with our money and told us the owner had arranged accommodation elsewhere. At no point did the owner call to apologise or even speak to us directly. When we got to the other accommodation the owner had only arranged accommodation for 2 people and we a family of 5. Luckily the complex was able to accommodate us. i will never book with Travellers joy again!

A nice old building with spacious rooms. Decor is not very practical with not 1 chair or table in a 5 sleeper unit. Bathroom has a extractor fan which works from the light switch that sounds like a tractor when switching on the light & basically waking up everyone every time the toilet is used. Aircon leaks onto the bed. Bedroom is so light at night from the street lights, could do with some decent curtains. Outside some very nice water features are in ruin & a breeding ground for mozzies. We couldn't handle the conditions & eventually left at 1am in the morning.

After a mix - up with a booking for another place; we found ourselves searching for a room in a packed town. Luckily for us we stumbled across Traveller's Joy and they had a cancellation that enabled us to stay. What a gem of a place. Super accommodating and friendly receptionist, lovely room with the most amazing shower! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely place to any one and will definitely be back again as soon as we're in this part of the world again!

The perfect half way stop between JHB and Cape Town. A beautifully restored house in the centre of town which has been furnished with care. Even though we arrived late in the evening Onica was cheerful and helpful while checking us in. the room we had was well appointed with a bar fridge, kettle and TV with limited channels. The mattress excellent quality (possibly the best in 3 weeks of travelling). there is secure off street parking. There is a reservoir type pool and braai facility.

My husband and I were driving our daughter and her car back to Stellenbosch for her next year of studies and decided to break our trip in Colesberg. We arrived late in the afternoon and were shown to our room. Only problem is that they need to spray for ants. Sadly even though my husband had reversed our car right up against the back wall (undercover), out of sight from the road. His bicycle pump, bags and everything that could be removed off his bicycle, which was tied onto the bike rack, was stollen!! When my husband reported this to the staff the next morning, he learned that we were alone on the property that night with 4 construction workers, and it could only have been them that stole the stuff off the bike!! So we won't be staying there again!!

We were looking for a bed for the night and Travellers Joy was a good choice. We booked the family room for 2 adults with the adjoining room catering for 3 children (DSTV in the children's room). Room was comfortable with nice linen. Tea and instant coffee was provided. Family room didn't have a kitchenette. Friendly welcome by the manageress with recommendations of where to eat. Off street parking at the back of the property. Conveniently located in the main street through the town. Good unpretentious value for money.
