Run down. Shabby and musty. Furniture ancient. Barely space for 4adults in the so called ‘open plan kitchen, dining and longe areas. Appliances old. Website said that there was a restaurant serving breakfast and dinner. We didn’t carry food hoping to eat there. On calling the owner he insisted that there was never a restaurant on site. We had to leave immediately. Drove 150 km back home. Most annoyed. Overgrowth on the path to the lodge scratched my brand new vehicle. Pissed off.
At peace in this beautiful part of our Country. Needed a place to rest for just one night - took the Nottingham Hill Road Offramp and chose this Guest Farm. Tranquil and beautiful setting, comfortable bed, adequate kitchen, hot water and great for long walks.
"Great stay rustic very beautiful scenery, Alex absolute gent no request to big. Great bass fishing. Staff members very friendly and helpful. If you looking for a great get away with family can highly recommend Beacon Vlei"
We enjoyed our stay in the spacious Boathouse. Beautiful views and the dam right at our doorstep. Very hospitable and accommodative host, Alex & team. They made sure that we were comfortable & one of the guys even offered to teach my son how to fish, but the weather didn't come to the party:-(
Having been thru a stressful and tiring period I wanted to take my wife to a peaceful and relaxing place to unwind. The advertising of Beacon Vlei Guest Farm promised just that. Not the case. The Boathouse that we were booked to stay in turned out to be a rundown old shed with dilapidated furniture. The place was dirty and showed results of not having been cleaned for a long period. Needless to say we booked out early the next day, not even waiting to claim a refund.
