what a lovely lodge!

-- wooden cabins were very comfortable and clean
-- kettle facilities and ...
-- water you can drink out of the tap and its delicious! (not used to this!)
-- bathroom was a squeeze with a corner shower, loo and basin.. but warm pipes to toast your towels!
-- an honesty bar !
-- delicious breakfast spread even though they dont served hot breakfasts
-- stunning views of the country side
-- pretty river walk
-- helpful staff

aa place where you real enjoy the charm of the country and the midlands meander!

A truly lovely spot. We stopped over for a night on our way down to the coast and were welcomed by a beautiful view and quaint log cabins. Accommodation was clean and comfortable, with everything that one needs. Service was friendly. Great value for money.

Very well kept lodges. The rooms were neat and cozy, the bathrooms were clean. The staff were efficient and friendly. The easter eggs in the rooms added that extra touch. Will definitely recommend this lodge to others.

Get away from the stresses of life to total tranquility. Easy access to most locations in the area. Comfortable accommodation with facility to self cater. Friendly staff willing to help wherever they can, fetched us diner from nearby restaurant and made our arrival extra special after a long hard week at the office.Home away from home.

We had stayed here 10 years ago and were pleasantly surprised to see that the establishment has improved since then.
The rooms are still the same- spacious, comfortable beds, great view.
The rooms are raised on stilts with two rooms sharing a structure. They are well equipped with a good heater and comfortable chairs placed to enable the views to be enjoyed from the rooms. There is no fridge or microwave in the standard rooms.
The establishment is primarily to facilitate country relaxing so there is no tv in the room but there is in the central area as well as a fridge with various drinks that are available for purchase.
If you book with breakfast please note that it is only continental.
There are trails that can be enjoyed, from easy to longer and more difficult, all close to the rooms and using the lodge grounds. They are worth taking the time to walk. They do tend to be more difficult than indicated in the signboards. Plan your route from the map on the office wall.
The atmosphere is relaxed and it is easy to kick back and chill. Recommended for a weekend away from the city rush.

We were sent to the Caversham Restaurant because thats where the food is served for this establishment. All four of us were disappointing with the food. The portions were small and the special of the day was lamb shank which was something to avoid.

Our cabin consisted of a delightfully classy and cosy room, with exquisite views and finished with modern furnishings and a fresh fruit bowl. We were enchanted by clouds floating through, surreal sunrises and a forest trail that was full of vibrant flora. Idyllic for a rustic and rural getaway with family, friends or a dreamy honeymoon.

We had a one night stay - wish it could have been longer! Units are spaced far apart and are private. The chalets are beautifully decorated and cleverly designed - very comfortable. Loved the floor to ceiling windows so that you can take full advantage of the amazing view. Very peaceful - and close to all that the Midlands has on offer.

Arrived to very friendly efficient reception staff, suite was very clean, neat and well appointed in quiet, relaxing surroundings, perfect for a quick relaxing weekend getaway.
Wooden chalet set in neat, tranquil surroundings. A great base to explore from with many good Restaurants in close proximity.
Although cold breakfasts are served, we did not partake, but believe it is quite a spread.
Will certainly be back.
