About

#2 of 20 Speciality lodging in Montriond
La Ferme du Lac Vert was built in 1842 - has been restored & is now a luxury boutique ski chalet. The interior is a mix of antique & contemporary with a stone staircase & fireplace designed by a local artist - it has to be seen to be appreciated. There is a double height glass atrium on the first floor, giving expansive views of the neighboring mountain range.

This hotel is extremely spacious, lovely seating areas both inside and out. Our room was very cosy, big enough for us and our dog. The whole place has been furnished to an extremely high standard. Breakfast was plentiful and very well set out. We were made to feel very welcome by Tadhg, in fact we were only going to stay 1 night but ended up staying 3.

I keep returning to this fabulous chalet because they never fail to deliver to the highest standards in every area from comfort, food, ambiance and most of all personal service . Nothing is too much trouble in ensuring you have a fantastic experience not only in the Chalet but guiding you around the extensive legendary ski area.

Walking into the chalet the first thing I was absolutely blown away by was the physical chalet itself. The quality of the build, materials, the wood, for example the artisan handrail?? Wow! All beautifully complementing the masterful way it is decorated; which includes a phenomal eclectic mix of stunning furniture. The kind you just have to touch! It literally looks like it's taken an entire lifetime of scouring the globe to acquire pieces like these, but what's even better is that everything is so tastefully combined together with a hint of mischief. There is truly a one of a kind sense of style here. Someone who knows what is absolutely perfect, and then throws in a piece so fabuously unusual you just have to stop and take it all in. Curtains, upholstery and bedsheets made from Swiss Army blankets in one room, cowhide, in another, a bed from Bali in the next? An absolutely incredible fireplace. This place is loved. Truly, truly loved by its owners. Truly loved. Genuinely in my heart of hearts: I wish I could live here. I've never stayed anywhere that felt more like home. AND I'd eat and drink like an absolute king! The chef is michelin material, the wine never stops and is fabulous, the canape's are too die for... it's impressive anyone can actually get on the slopes! And the staff is amazing. Truly amazing. Taking care of everything! Rob and Lucy are two of the nicest people I have ever met in my life, and I know I've made lifelong friends! I promise you. I will never book another chalet in my life. This is the one. It is what dreams are made of. You gotta go. That's it. It's why I titled this review: Where to stay in the Alps. Stay here!! You've got everything to gain - and nothing TOULOUSE! ; )

There are catered chalets, and then there ARE AMAZING experiences. La Ferme Du Lac Vert is one of the best chalets I've stayed in. Pure luxury but with real character and personality as opposed to the many 'vanilla' lux chalets in the market. Cuisine was exceptional as was the service and the staff. Desperate to book again ....
