Detailed Reviews
After having trekked through snow for weeks, Chitwan was a great change and the RVJC was the best place to relax in. We were greeted at the bus park, greeted warmly by Mr. Nepal when we arrived at the resort, and by every member of the wonderful staff at every opportunity. We were very comfortable everywhere in the resort but especially on our balcony overlooking the river with the sounds of Chitwan.
The food was excellent!
We went on an all-day private jeep safari and followed that up with a 2-hour canoe trip and day walk with two excellent guides (thank you Janu!).
We enjoyed a wonderful week at the RVJC.

Amazing stay in resort and staff is nice..just carry your toiletries like soap and toothbrush, shaving kit.. the location is in the middle of the market. Be prepared to carry good winter wear during December. The kitchen is closed by 9 pm.
Just one quick improvement that price of the momo charged was too high vs the market trends in nepal….also it should be included as breakfast menu..

Rooms are clean, stylish, and the beds were the most comfortable we’ve had during our month long trip. The owner has a passion for hospitality and the staff are all competent and helpful. No need to book your jungle adventures at other businesses. Krishna will take care of everything for you. They have certified and knowledgeable guides at the hotel. They even arranged a birthday cake for my boyfriend’s birthday. We had a wonderful time and would go back in a heartbeat.

We had the most incredible time at RVJC. Nothing was too much of an ask for Krishna and his team and we were made to feel completely at home. We saw an abundance of rhinos and wildlife thanks to the expert guidance of Mangara Mahato and ate delicious food every morning. If you visit here you should check out the daily washing of elephants! The accommodation is right by the river so you can hear wildlife at night... just brilliant! I highly recommend this place and have told all my family and friends about it.

We stayed here for 3 nights in April. The hotel is lovely, right on the river side, spacious clean rooms and a beautiful garden.
I read a previous review about 'pushy' staff; I can see where this has come from as we were told on arrival 'which tours would you like to book?' however, honestly, there is no reason not to book your tours through this hotel as the standard of service and guiding was excellent! We did the day jungle tour, canoe tour and 4x4 jeep safari all booked through the hotel. They made sure we were up and ready for the tours, collected us from the hotel etc. I came to Chitwan in 2013 and did similar tours, and don't believe that we were paying much of a premium to book through the hotel than independently; when you only have a few days you want to do thinks quickly, easily and reliably!
The restaurant was very good, we ate there several times. The hotel staff had no problem taking an order in advance and having the food ready for a certain time, which was great.
They also arranged collection, drop off at the bus station and sorted our bus tickets.
I would strongly recommend staying at this hotel.

Great location, beautifully maintained grounds. Close to town - everything within walking distance including ATM and restaurants. Backs onto the river where I had the pleasure of bathing with the elephants. We were taken to our elephant safari where I saw a rhino in the wild, elephant breeding centre, canoeing down a croc infested river - though I only saw one. Thoughtful caring staff who made me feel very welcome. They provided an incredible performance of dancing, drumming and martial arts for us one night too along with great local food. I would thoroughly recommend River View for your jungle experience. Thanks Khrisna and all the wonderful staff at River View.

Really glad we came despite the heat and humidity in late May. Upgraded room when we got there to one with a river view and balcony which was definitely worth it.
Very friendly manager who, on arrival, arranged jungle walks, with their excellent in house guides, and game drive for us. The jungle walk started with an hour in a dugout canoe with others then a 3 hour walk, just the two of us. Saw lots of Rhinos on the walk. Well worth it. Game drive was less good. Lots of people and the grass was very long at this time of year, making game viewing almost impossible. The following day we arranged a morning bird walk, in the community forest, with the same excellent guide which was also very good (because it was the community forest our permit from the day before was valid) We saw many birds, including a variety of woodpeckers and a hornbill and we also got excellent views of rhino and deer.
Hotel was very clean. It was quite basic but met our needs. They could do with some comfier chairs in the garden.

+1
We spent 3 amazing days at River View Jungle Camp. The staff were helpful and welcoming and the whole resort had a really peaceful air to it.
I don’t think I will ever forget sitting out on the balcony in the morning watching a Rhino bath in the river opposite.
The restaurant serves really tasty food.
We booked a full day Jeep tour with the lodge’s guide which I count as the best day of our 2 month trip! We saw 11 rhinos, a sloth bear and lots of crocs, wild pigs and monkeys. We saw a tiger footprint but unfortunately no tiger this time! Our guide was really knowledgable and his spotting was incredible.
A tip for anyone planning to head to Chitwan - we are pretty laid back travellers but found the bus down from Kathmandu extremely stressful. The roads are very poor and unfortunately accidents are frequent. We took a flight back for the return journey which I would strongly recommend.

everything was amazing, the staff are really nice, the elephants bathe right in front of the hotel at the river, the room was clean, the location is great, the restaurant is the best in nepal, best dhal bat I had there, but they are a bit slow, as they make everything from scratch, so put it in consideration, the breakfast is great also! they have a very nice garden with swings in it, I just enjoyed my stay so much!

Our two families had a lovely couple of nights at River View Jungle Camp in late December. The rooms were comfortable (the best beds we had on our trip), the food was delicious, and the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. One of our group had a health issue, and the hotel manager, Krishna Nepal, got a doctor there quickly. I was reading some of the other reviews here - the review by 'Craig M' is very detailed and echoes much of our own experience there. Krishna really was great and gave us his full attention - especially at meal times - telling us about Chitwan Park and local culture. The hotel grounds were beautiful - the gardener does a great job of growing beautiful flowers, and somehow manages to repair the damage done by the night-time rhino visits (yes, they happen and are kind of exciting!). The outdoor area had plenty of room for our kids to run around and do their thing. Definitely somewhere I would stay again.
