This was our second trip to Leopard Mountain lodge after 12 years. We were pleasantly surprised but the fantastic upgrades since our last visit. The suite was beautiful and kept immaculately clean by staff who serviced the suite twice a day. The splash pool and outdoor shower was new and enjoyed by both ourselves and the wildlife that came to visit. Mealtimes were a treat and we were spoiled by an excellent chef who cooked up a feast for us each night. Graeme and Nicole, our safari guides were knowledgeable, friendly and provided us with an extremely memorable experience on the 2 game drives a day. The ladies at the spa provided us very relaxing therapies. The entire staff made us feel like family and we will sure return again and again and highly recommend those wanting an intimate yet fun luxury safari try Leopard Mountain Safari.

We spent 2 nights as a family in this lodge in the heart of the reserve.
It was simply perfect,
Starting with the rooms, intimate and spacious, including a small private swimming pool and quality equipment. They are also cleaned twice a day.
During the stay, we were treated to two game drives per day, one very early in the morning and the other in the evening. Our guide was excellent, passionate and very friendly. We were really able to develop a bond with him during our 4 safari drives.
We even had the chance to see lions and cheetahs just after an animal hunt.
The food was exquisite, the lunch at the top, with proposals and a menu that changes every day.
They even offer aperitifs, morning coffees and small snacks throughout the day.
The Internet, it is not customary, was very powerful.

All the staff were perfect, helpful and smiling.

I highly recommend this lodge which offers an unforgettable experience. Especially on honeymoon.

As a family, we had an amazing stay at Leopard Mountain Lodge! Not only were the accommodation, food and game viewing all of a really high standard, the staff were so friendly, welcoming, happy and relaxed - it made for a casual environment, which we all loved! Ross, our guide, was really experienced and made the game drives fun and informative - we highly recommend him! The quality and abundance of wildlife in the Manyoni Reserve was quite unexpected with rewarding sightings in a beautifully maintained reserve. We also booked a Pangolin Experience, which was very special. Thank you Ryan and team for hosting us!

We were warmly welcomed with a welcome drink, shown through the stylish rooms of the main house and escorted to our exclusive, stylish home, which is perfectly furnished and has a secluded terrace with an additional outdoor shower and private plunge pool. Some animals came right up to our terrace.

Our evening safari began at 16:00. Our perfect driver and guide Alex knew every corner of the area and tracked down the animals, sometimes by reading their tracks, without scaring them. With the engine switched off, we always had time to enjoy the atmosphere and the sounds. The stops during the breaks for ‘Farmers Special’ (drink) and ‘bush food’ as well as his interesting explanations are also unforgettable. Many thanks again for this, dear Alex!

After the wake-up call the next morning at 4.30 a.m. and a short morning coffee and refreshment in our own plunge pool, the three-hour morning safari into the sunrise began at 5.00 a.m. - a fantastic experience!

After a sumptuous breakfast buffet, there was time to relax either in the lodge, on the open-air terrace with its breathtaking view or in our own house until the next three-hour evening safari at 4.00 pm.

Dinner was served in style outdoors by the campfire. The entire staff was extremely attentive and friendly.

This is truly one of the most amazing places we’ve ever stayed! We had our own private Villa with breathtaking views. The entire staff were friendly and welcoming. The food and wine (and gun and tonics) were amazing! We had made to order breakfasts, picnic lunches, high tea and dinners by lantern lighting. I normally am not a fan of all inclusive places but there was absolutely no desire to go anyone else for food or drinks.

We had a phenomenal safari guide who drove us for 3 hour drives in both the morning and early evening. Ross was extremely knowledgeable about the animals and vegetation. During the drives, he stopped and made us drinks and provided snacks. The warm hand towels were always a hit too! Who doesn’t need a warm hand towel on a safari!?

Safari vehicles were very comfortable and well maintained. I always thought our vehicle looked much nicer and more comfortable than the ones from other lodges. We were also provided blankets and water bottles for the ride.

You could not beat this for an amazing safari holiday. The lodge is in a superbly picturesque location within the Manyoni Game Reserve with stunning views across the river and bushveld below. The food was delicious and the service excellent - very friendly, attentive but not intrusive - nothing was too much trouble. Our game drive guide, Sean was very knowledgeable and keen to inform guests about all the flora and fauna and was able to find most of the animals guests wanted to see.

We had a wonderful time here. Our chalet had the most beautiful panoramic view from both our bed and large deck. The room had a stylish, safari feel that we loved, including a spacious outdoor shower with the same expansive view. The food was tasty and beautifully presented by very cheerful staff. We found everyone so helpful and welcoming.
We had terrific game drives with our guide, Ross, who we would recommend whole-heartedly. He had just the right mix of knowledge and humor that made our game drives so interesting.
We wouldn't have changed a thing, including the nightcap that was thoughtfully delivered to our room - a nice touch!

The past weekend my husband and I spend an unforgettable time at Leopard Mountain Safari Lodge. We experienced luxury, nature, and exceptional service. The luxury rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and equipped with modern amenities, all while maintaining an authentic safari lodge charm. Our veranda allowed us to enjoy beautiful views, an outside shower and our own splash pool.

The staff at Leopard Mountain are incredibly attentive and friendly, ensuring that every need is met with a smile. The highlight of any stay here is undoubtedly the game drives. Alex our guide was very knowledgeable and offered thrilling opportunities for us to see almost all of the Big Five and an array of other wildlife, Alex also shared fascinating insights into the local ecosystem.

The food was exceptional, with a variety of dishes that showcase local flavors and international cuisine, all beautifully presented. We also went for a spa treatment which was truly a wonderful treat. For anyone seeking a luxurious safari escape, Leopard Mountain Safari Lodge is an absolute gem. We will be back for sure.

We had an amazing time at Leopard Mountain from the start we felt so welcome we were greeted with perfectly warmed welcome towels and lead down to the balcony which has the most breathtaking view of the river and valleys below. The staff are so friendly, happy and professional. The Hot Water Bottle for morning game drives is a life changer haha. There were too many fine touches to mention here which made our experience truly memorable. Cannot wait to return.

Is there a malaria issue in this area?
41 contributions1 helpful vote
Good morning, Based on the map found on their website and also published in the booklet, Malaria advice for southern Mozambique, Swaziland and South Africa, it classifies us as a Low Risk Area. Within this classification they advise that no anti-malarial drugs are taken. They have also stated in this booklet, under the heading “Prevention: Personal Protection,” ‘Malaria mosquitoes only bite after dark. The best prevention is personal protection against the malaria mosquito. Wear long sleeves and trousers in the late afternoon and night, and stay indoors if possible. The latter advice is however often difficult to follow when on holiday in the topics. Effective protection may be obtained by using a repellent on exposed skin. Additional protection may be obtained by applying repellent to clothes as mosquitoes will often bite through clothes. Aerosol repellents can be used on clothes and also give more effective coverage of exposed skin than a ‘stick’ or ‘roll on’. These are useful for application to areas such as the face, where an aerosol may affect sensitive areas (e.g. eyes).…’ At Leopard Mountain Safari Lodge, none of our rooms have mosquito nets, should you wish one in your room please contact reception. We also provide ‘Peaceful Sleep’ in the cupboard in your room. I hope this helps :-) Kind regards, The Leopard Mountain Team

I have been taking groups to this lodge from the USA for a number of years. We’ve seen virtually EVERYTHING in this game reserve except wild dogs and leopard. We’ve heard them at night, but have never seen one. I take my groups also to Motswari Lodge up in Timbavati, and we have never gone there WITHOUT seeing a leopard. This last year (July, 2019) we saw four!!
