Had the most wonderful stay here in a party of 12 (couples and family members included). Definitely recommend going to the elephant interaction too - Rachel, Rambo and Jambulani were a real treat! After two lengthy safari rides, viewing the most beautiful animals, you were able to relax by the fire in the evening in a truly stunning setting. The room I stayed in with my boyfriend was one of the nicest rooms I've ever stayed in. Stunning. Staff were also super friendly and informative! Overall amazing stay, one to remember.

We didn't stay at the lodge. We were booked on the elephant interaction through a different lodge, so this review is for that aspect only. We have been on many safaris and done "elephant back" tours. This interaction surpassed all previous experiences. The entrance and tour area aren't much to look at, and given the drought the landscape is particularly stark. So, our expectations were pretty low upon arrival. Then, at promptly 10 AM, the elephants arrived. Elephants are amazing animals, and their sheer size is daunting. However, these elephants clearly enjoy interacting with people and their handlers/human family do an excellent job of working with them. We were completely comfortable touching, feeding, and being near the elephants. Afterward the official tour ended,

Bayete Zulu is definitely one of the best game reserves I've been visiting so far. The lodge is located on a hill, the deck and the small pool overseeing the whole valley. The view from them is astonishing. Elephants passed by in front of us. Besides the heigth guarantees less humidity and way less bugs than down in the valley (I got the evidence comparing two lodges in the same day). Rooms are lovely and perfectly set in each detail, including a private part of the deck with table and chairs. Open living room with sat tv and tables in the shadows provide a great location where relax and enjoy food and friends. The guide was excellent and very friendly, we easily spotted most of the animals including lions and rhinos. Great stay, amazing KwaZulu-Natal!

I went into this experience with a game drive as one of the top experiences on my bucket list and because of this my expectations were unreasonably high. Bayete Elephant Experience exceeded those expectations. The luxury lodge is exactly that. The rooms are beautiful. The game drive's themselves gave me everything I wanted and more. We saw all of 'The Big Five' in their natural environment including a fully grown male Lion resting no more than 10 feet from our vehicle. We also witnessed a pack of wild dogs kill. There are two real gems that make this experience so special; the Elephants and most importantly the staff. The Elephant experience gives you one-on-one interaction with the Elephants. A breath-taking experience. The staff at the lodge were fantastic, they could not
