My favorite game lodge. We enjoyed the incredible game drives, which were informative and interesting, and we had beautiful sightings of lion, cheetah, rhino, secretary birds, wild dog, etc, etc. It was special to have quite a lot of time with these sightings without being overcrowded. The pool and the aircon were a godsend in the warm weather. We were given excellent service as well.

Wow wow wow... what an amazing place. We celebrated my 50th birthday with friends and family. This place is a hidden gem. The staff were amazing in every way and nothing was too much. From the amazing views to incredible game drives it was more than we could have wished for. The kitchen staff prepared all meals and really were incredible. Thank you Shona, Jordan, Dylan, Louise, Tristan and kitchen staff. We will definitely be back.

Bayete Zulu Private is an excellent Lodge. It is clean, beautifully positioned and the game drives are excellent and informative. Unfortunately the food was a huge let down and for the price you pay, was well below the standard one expects from a Lodge of this calibre. The meals were very poor, there was a limited wine selection, shortage of ice, warm beers. They need to up their game if they want to maintain the image it deserves. We privately wrote to the Manager about this. She responded but clearly is in denial which is a disappointment.

We were very disappointed with standard of the food, we could not eat any of the meals except breakfast it was that bad, they ran out of wine, the beers were warm, no ice or lemons. I popped my head into the kitchen...I was shocked at the state it was in. Animals are minimal, one game drive did not produce a single animal. Did not warrant the price. Not for me.

We absolutely love Bayete. The photos on this site don't do it justice. This is our third visit and we shared it with friends and family from New Zealand. They were treated to a wonderful bush experience. The rooms are large and the king sized beds are comfortable. There is a wide, deep bath for soaking and a lovely shower. This is the perfect spot for a group of 12 to 16 as you have the entire homestead to yourselves. The ladies in the kitchen do an awesome job of preparing the food and they were happy to follow the menu that we provided. Everything was perfectly on time and well presented. Our game drives were awesome. Michaela and Jordan went out of their way to give our overseas guests a real Africa experience. We had incredibility close viewings of the lions, even a mating couple, and a cheetah mom and her club plus many rhino sightings, jackal, crocs, hippos, so many giraffe and other smaller animals and such beautiful bird life. This area of the Manyoni reserve is teeming with game. Excellent value for money.

My family of 7 adults stayed at Bayete Homestead for 3 nights in August. What a amazing bush break! On arrival, the cars were even unpacked and then parked for us. The homestead houses 16 people, so we had ample rooms to choose from. The 8 bedrooms were all comfortable and tastefully decorated. We opted for self catering and were well taken care of by Mama and Wendy who would set the tables, and prepare food as per instructions. They also made a much appreciated fire in the lounge every night. It should be noted that the kitchen is detached from the main living area, if you need to separate snacks/beverages from the food. A special mention must be made of our game ranger/guide Brendan who was knowledgeable, passionate and friendly. He went out of his way to find lions, buffalo, and cheetah cubs and also to ensure we did not get too close to the elephants. All in all, a fantastic stay and I would recommend this lodge to anyone who is looking for a luxurious bush escape.

We stayed at Bayete Homestead for three nights. We usually opt for self-drives in Kruger, so we were a bit apprehensive about the guided experience. I am so glad we decided to try something different! Our ranger, Brendan, made sure we had a memorable trip. He was so enthusiastic, knowledgeable and accommodating, and went out of his way to get us several incredible sightings. The Homestead is perfect for a larger family as there is a common area where you can socialise, but the home is also designed in a way such that individuals/couples have their privacy when retreating to their rooms. We chose the self-catered option and were kindly assisted by Mama and Wendy throughout our stay. I highly recommend Bayete Zulu - we could have done with a few more nights, and look forward to returning.

We had another fantastic stay at Little Bayete this past long weekend, with grandparents, young kids and friends. Michaela, Fikele and Nonto made our stay so memorable and comfortable. To have a small “lodge” all to yourself, with all the bells and whistles; where children can play freely (and loudly sometimes if they wish); game drives that can be tailored to fit in with families because of an incredible ranger who is genuinely wanting to make your holiday enjoyable and special; your self catered brought food is cooked for you and served at times that suit you - I don’t know of a more relaxing and rejuvenating place to spend one’s holiday. (Not to mention the beautiful animal sightings that had us all in awe) It’s a real luxury and spoil to be able to visit Bayete, and our family look forward to coming back soon.

Unbelievable 3 night stay at Bayete Homestead & Little Bayete. 16 adults and 7 children ages 2-12. I cannot recommend these lodge highly enough. Jordan, our ranger was excellent! Very informative. We have been lucky enough to enjoy a few reserves but Jordan still taught us things we didn't know. We chose to self cater. The staff were brilliant. I prepared menus for them, which they followed and delivered with ease. Beautiful ladies with big smiles and always ready to please. The Reserve is in amazing condition! Lots of animals, at the waterhole in front of Bayete Homestead, so even whilst swimming in the pool, we had game constantly wandering in and out. A excellent bush experience!
