We had another fantastic stay at Little Bayete this past long weekend, with grandparents, young kids and friends. Michaela, Fikele and Nonto made our stay so memorable and comfortable. To have a small “lodge” all to yourself, with all the bells and whistles; where children can play freely (and loudly sometimes if they wish); game drives that can be tailored to fit in with families because of an incredible ranger who is genuinely wanting to make your holiday enjoyable and special; your self catered brought food is cooked for you and served at times that suit you - I don’t know of a more relaxing and rejuvenating place to spend one’s holiday. (Not to mention the beautiful animal sightings that had us all in awe) It’s a real luxury and spoil to be able to visit Bayete, and our family look forward to coming back soon.

Unbelievable 3 night stay at Bayete Homestead & Little Bayete. 16 adults and 7 children ages 2-12. I cannot recommend these lodge highly enough. Jordan, our ranger was excellent! Very informative. We have been lucky enough to enjoy a few reserves but Jordan still taught us things we didn't know. We chose to self cater. The staff were brilliant. I prepared menus for them, which they followed and delivered with ease. Beautiful ladies with big smiles and always ready to please. The Reserve is in amazing condition! Lots of animals, at the waterhole in front of Bayete Homestead, so even whilst swimming in the pool, we had game constantly wandering in and out. A excellent bush experience!

We stayed at Bayete Homestead for two nights, as a group of 16 (we took all of the rooms). We did the self catering option, but Mama & Sam did all the hard work cooking, setting up and cleaning - this was great. The homestead was perfect for a big group, with great indoor and outdoor areas, a lovely pool and a wonderful view of a busy waterhole. All of the rooms were nice. The game drives were flexible, and rangers very friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, a great experience, highly recommended.

Accommodation, staff, location all excellent. Entire Homestead and Little Bayete booked for two nights for 26 family and friends and paid for by the generous host. Two people had to cancel a week before due to illness but management refused to compensate our host in any way whatsoever. Despite loss of business due to Covid I still feel this was very disappointing. Even a token voucher would have prevented my negative publicity.

What a fantastic way to celebrate my 40th with close friends. We stayed at Little Bayete (4 couples) and had a dedicated ranger Michaela for our stay! Great accommodation and views, and Mama and Wendy cooked all our meals to perfection. Our game sightings were incredible; lion, cheetah, lapet faced vulture, secretary bird with a snake, genet, rhino, buffalo but our highlight was the 6 wild dog which sat in the road about 3m away from us for half an hour! Michaela was an enthusiastic and knowledgeable ranger! highly recommend this very special place! We will be back!

Just phenomenal. I cannot say enough how magical our safari experience at Bayete Zulu Private Camp was this week. We had visited an earlier incarnation of this property 8 years’ ago and always wanted to return when our (now 5yo) daughter was old enough. We are so grateful to our amazing, eagle-eyed ranger Ruben for finding us a vast range of wildlife including giraffe, rhino, elephants, lion, serval, chameleon, jackal and a whole family of cheetahs as well as patiently enduring our endless questions! He could spot the tiniest movement at such a distance?! The cooler weather meant the animals were a lot more active and we had some incredible sightings. Huge thanks also to Carin for her amazing hospitality and for making every moment in the lodge just as magical for our daughter as when we were on our game drives. The marshmallows by the campfire were a particular hit. Thank you also to Roger for creating delicious feasts and answering all my foodie husband’s recipe questions and Wendy and Fizile for looking after us! We had high expectations after our previous visit but they were exceeded. I cannot recommend Bayete Zulu highly enough (especially the Private Camp) for a high-quality, child-friendly but authentic safari experience. It managed to offer us luxury without being stuffy or uptight. Just perfect - we can’t wait to come back.

We stayed in Bayete Private (jaw dropping location overlooking water hole) and Little Bayete (Amazing view over valley). Accommodation best of our trip. Trip was made by our great guide (Ruben) who escorted us on a number of great game drives. Lots to see and we were lucky (important). Rounded off by elephant interaction - amazing to see free roaming elephants saunter up to us and then us be able to interact with them. Definitely a highlight. Best safari to date, great value and would highly recommend.

We went to Bayete last weekend to celebrate a friend's 50th birthday. It rained a fair amount and we were not permitted on any game drives. There is no plan b or any other activity besides the elephant interaction. Terribly disappointed and ranger staff were not particularly helpful.Kitchen staff as always great. Best it doesn't rain on your weekend
