We had a great stay with my wife. The rooms are huge and very comfortable, strong wifi connection, great breakfast and efficient cleaning service. We found the gentleman at the front desk to very helpful. He made sure our needs were meet. Th e service in the restraunt was rather disapointing as we spent more than 15 minutes without being served or welcomed by any of the staff.

We spent 8 days at Avondale boutique hotel. It was a truly wonderful experience. The staff were welcoming and helpful. We stayed in Room 8. Breakfast at Arabistro was also spectacular. Definitely recommend this hidden gem.

A+ Accommodation.

So refreshing to stay at a place where everything is just right. Swift check-in, spotless rooms, luxury sheets & finishings, decent wifi, smart tv and spacious bathroom with rainfall shower.

Breakfast is amazing, while there is no buffet - you order of a menu - this works out much better and you get a variety of freshly prepared and plated meals as well as platters of fruits, yogurts, cold meats, cheeses & pastries. You know the food is good when the locals come here just for the breakfast!

Location is bang in the hub of durbans foodie paradise with dozens of restaurants, coffee shops, and smaller malls in the vicinity, some walkable, others a 1 or 2km drive away.

For Muslims, you'll be happy to know their breakfast is halal, a spacious and beautiful musallah across the road for your prayers & tons of halal restaurants nearby (and the bathroom has a trigger spray:)

All in all, we had a lovely stay and this is probably going to be our go-to place to stay whenever we visit Durban!

Avondale boutique hotel has put in little to no effort to communicate with us regarding a refund requested due to Covid 19 lockdown, other resorts and accommodation have been communicating with us from the first day of lockdown with options or plans to refund us. We have been wondering and worried about our refund and they just don't offer any solutions. Dissapointing and poor service. Will definitely not recommend friends or family to even consider Avondale as an option!

I could not fault this hotel . I came to visit family in Durban and found a hidden gem. The room was exceptionally clean and fresh. Soft towels and quality linen.
The garden was in full bloom and wonderful security. I have to add that the steak dinner I had through room service was outstanding and would definitely be returning .
All properties should take a leaf from this establishment.

Stayed here for a few days whilst in Durban for family wedding. I was pleasantly surprised at how friendly, efficient and helpful the staff were. The food is awesome and chef and waitresses very accommodating. The manager Leeane and head
Lchef both personally served us on some occasions which gave a warm personal touch. Location is perfect with musalla across the road, situated close to beaches and many of the best Halal restaurants in the area. Will definitely make this my first choice on future trips to Durban 🥇🏅🏆

I stayed with my husband we had booked on a Sunday the 22nd September. First of all the room we got was literally infront of the reception door! Who on earth designs their hotel in such a stupid way. Busy reception and a room right by the reception!

As if that was not enough, the ladies who were working night shift at reception were watching idols on tv &it was sooo loud we could hear everything &they were laughing, singing along to the music. When they eventually switched off the tv after 10 midnight they started playing music on their cellphones &taking calls &talking soo loud we could not even sleep from all the noise!

To top it all, whilst taking shower after my husband finished taking his, the hot water cut off i finished my shower with cold water! If you ever come to the hotel never ever accept room 5 its the worst. U hear people walk around, noisy reception its just the worst!!

To top it all when we reported to the manager the next morning, he was extremely arrogant and told us we not the only ones with a room problem many other rooms have the same problem, then when we told him about the ladies who were noisy he insisted that it was guys working night shift not ladies when i personally had to go ask them to lower their voices and i was talking to women not man! Arrogant, ignorant and racist behavior if you ask me!!

I regret ever booking this hotel!!! They will never ever see us again😡

We prefer smaller hotels and this was perfect. Loved that it was withing walking distance of restaurants and a nice neighborhood. Breakfast very good with lots of options and Cappuccino. Staff is very hospitable and helpful!
