We have always heard about Amanzi, byt never thought it was so beautiful and had so many options and facilities. From a mountain chalet (in which we stayed) to a camping site, family chalets, dormitories and honeymoon suits.
We also went on the safari trip for two hours, we had a mid-stop where we were given a snack bag and ended seeing the three lions they had.

The mountain chalet has a bath with a view to outside, a fireplace outside or you can choose to use the webber. The kitchenette is equipped with a kettle, toaster, all cutlery and glasses (including wine glasses), salt and pepper, coffee, tea and milk.

This is our new favourite!

The staff were very accomodating and friendly. The self catering rooms are extremely well equipped with everything you might need. The bad thing was that there were no 2-point plugs in die room and the bedrooms are quite unpersonal with an unhomey atmosphere. The worst for us is the setup around the braai area as ot is quite impractically set up and caused us to not even wanting to braai. I would also suggest more family activities such a put-put. The overall stay was great, the restaurant was amazing. Amanzi has a nice relaxing atmosphere and I would suggest it to anyone for a breakaway

What an absolute gem in the heart of the Free State Province!. With more than 110 delegates descending on Amanzi PGR from 26 until 30 June 2022 for the annual SASAQS 2022 Conference, we were met with open arms, professional and extremely helpful and friendly staff. All accommodation types, from the mountain to family chalets, to the family cottages and dormitories, were luxurious, very neat and serviced daily. Food throughout the conference was of a high quality and delicious, with the conference's gala event been held in the most awesome venue on the top of a hill with the most stunning view over the Free State landscape, teaming with wildlife. I strongly recommend Amanzi Private Game Reserve for any conference, workshop, wedding, family get together, or just a weekend away.

We were very excited to go to Amanzi private game reserve, but were extremely disappointed with what we got.

There is not much to see and do here. The lions are caged which we do not condone.

We were then taken to our Honeymoon suite, but the Hot Tub did not work, it was ice cold. We called the maintenance team and they came tp "fix" it and told us it should be hot in about another two hours. We waited patiently, but after two hours it were not hot and my husband had to have a look himself and finally fixed it himself, so another two hours later we finally had hot water. We were extremely disappointed as that was something we were looking forward to for the weekend and we could not use it for the whole afternoon and could only climb into the hot tub at about 21:00 in the evening. They did end up charging us less for it as the hot tub did not work from the start, but if we knew this was going to happen we would have chosen another place to stay.

If that was not enough we went for "included" breakfast the following morning at the restaurant, only to be told that NO DRINKS were included in the breakfast, not even a coffee or a fruit juice. This was extra to pay. As we paid a lot of money for the honeymoon suite with included breakfast we were not happy at all, as one assumes that this is included in the price if they say 'bed and breakfast" but apparently not here.

We did not feel as though we got value for our money or what was advertised when we made the booking. Save yourself the trouble and rather book somewhere else.

Unfortunately I have never been so disappointed with a place that I stayed at before, it is very overpriced and not worth visiting.

The Venue was great, family cottages very functional. We enjoyed the stay but was quite disappointed in the hospitality of staff and attention to detail to the bridal party. Very little interest in their well being and needs after arrival. No special treatment at the honeymoon suite as well as the extra booked lodges that hosted the makeup artists and hairdressers that took care of the bridesmaids and parents. Catering in this regard was not efficient. Personnel was not very welcoming, helpful or courteous and made us felt like they were doing us a favor instead of being appreciative of the business we provided as wedding guests filled accommodation and spent rather lavishly. Prices were to be expected of a reserve of their standard but service was lacking.

I am utterly dissatisfied of the guest house. The President announced lockdown restrictions on the 28th Dec 2020 because of this it meant we won't be able to use the pool and to fully enjoy ourselves i postponed for a further date from the 4th January 2021 to the 29th January and I stipulated provided the lockdown restrictions were lifted, they agreed. On the said date lockdown restrictions were still in effect and a close family member passed away of COVID-19 so I couldn't go. Upon contacting Amanzi they said I notified them late and took my money despite the emergency and explanation I gave. They are insensitive and don't care. I will be in contact with the Ombudsman because the Consumer Protection Act provides protection to consumers with regards to issues like this.

We visited Amanzi for a night as wanted to visit a place where we could see animals and also where to relax and maybe walk a bit to feel closer to the nature.
The relaxing bit was amazing- great place with stunning views, good facilities and friendly staff. The animal sanctuary could do with a bit of care though as looked a bit abandoned. Same for tortoise sanctuary. It would be nice to see some more rescued animals there, maybe with a small info next to each so visitor could learn more about the animals history, maybe its name ( little personalised tag somewhere so it would give a good feel to a visitor that animals are well taken care off when in enclosure). I was really looking forward to see the animals and be able to spend some time in their company ( safely obviously) so we used the option of walking trail. Unfortunately we got slightly lost about 3/4 way through as path not maintained and very poor signposting. We spoke to the reception team about it afterwoods and it has been acknowledged as something to be rectified in a future. The game drive was lovely, but expected a bit more variety in wildlife. Overall fantastic place with lots of potential for tourism. P.s. the dirt road to access the location proved to be a bit of the challenge for average car - you will be fine when in baki/4x4

As someone who works with clients on a day to day with a sole purpose to satisfy their needs, I would highly recommend this game reserve. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the overall atmosphere at amanzi will take your breath away. There was so much to do, we regretted not booking for a longer stay. Definitely going back soon

I booked and paid in advance for a non self catering room expecting to eat at the restaurant in the evening. Also I asked to go on a game drive in the evening and the next morning. When we arrived, it was raining and they told us that there would be no game drives and also that they were closing the restaurant, bar and lounge area at 4 pm. So we had to eat a takeaway salad in our room with a spoon!! They provided no cutlery. We were the only guests it seems so they wanted to close early . The toilet in the room was leaking aswell. So we found ourselves stuck in the room from 4 pm , nobody on site , everything was closed. I think the place is geared for groups - conferences, weddings and not for couples or individuals. The food was good.

Amanzi Game Reserve is ideal for a weekend out of town. The game drive, hiking and other activities are relaxing and an opportunity for quality time with family and friends. With its beautiful sunrises and sunsets to top the outing. With five star food at the restaurant and the friendly staff this venue just half an hour out of Bloemfontein is tops and excellent value.
