Very clean and comfy safari tents, and the outdoor showers were a real treat! The restaurant served delicious food but service was quite slow (slow even for what's "normal" in Africa). Friendly reception staff and a lovely atmosphere.

I live in the nearby village of Letlhakane and every visit I make to Makumutu is a real treat for me! I recently celebrated my birthday there and booked several campsites for myself and some friends to spend the night. The facilities are great and it is just a beautiful spot. They host special events (mine was just a group of friends meeting at one of my favorite spots) and all staff are friendly and helpful. That being said, The wifi is often down & the wait time for food is long so order an hour or more before you actually want to eat. I find that the wait is totally worth it for the quality of food you get here. The menu is large and the cocktail menu is just as long! The cocktails are multi-colored in layers and there are a couple of types of beer on tap. I find this place charming & fun to visit and hang out at. There are lovely plants, a pool with purple and blue lights in it, a swing set, and lots of private tables. It is not inside a village- rather it is along the road, just outside of Orapa village. I find that it is worth the drive.

We were enthusiastically welcomed by the extremely helpful staff as if we had been there 100 times before.

The buildings and grounds are well maintained. The interior of the Charlet is spacious and have all the standard furniture suitable for two people. The Charlet are evenly spread throughout the resort.

The swimming pools are sparkling and complimented the plants and gardens.

We had a delicious and filling dinner and breakfast.

I checked in at Makumutu Lodge and Campsite on a solo trip and found this place to be amazing... The safari tents are so comfortable and beautiful. Food was a great experience indeed. Staff very welcoming and friendly. I recommend travellers to and from Maun to check in at lodge, it's worth it.

After a long day on the road and the car breaking down, we needed a great accommodation with a great service as we missed being home and that is what we got when we arrived at Makumutu Lodge. We felt at home, their rooms are comfortable and clean, the food is scrumptious and the service is magnificent. The lodge is well maintained. We will definitely go back again some day.

We were a group of 5 who spent a night at Makumutu Lodge on our way to Maun. It would have been very enjoyable had it not been for another party of about 12 local people who partied outside their chalets until after 1 am in the morning - their music was blaring and they were extremely loud, so much so that none of us could sleep.
The chalets were neat and clean and the linen was good, showers had good pressure and hot water. The dinner was good - we were warned to order early due to slow service, which we did and our order arrived promptly. The receptionist was wonderful. {I actually took her name so that I could mention it, but somewhere during our travels I lost it}, but she was really helpful and very professional. Should we pass this way again we would stay the night - but not on a weekend at the end of the month as we did this time - I doubt that locals would be having a party there during the week.

A wonderful stay-over on route from Gabs to Maun, with nice calm environment and wonderful rooms, and friendly staff, but... oh my goodness... waiting an hour and a half to get a burger... I waited and asked and enquired and eventually just gave up waiting for dinner to arrive altogether...

We spent the night in their luxury tent but couldn't sleep because of the birds running up and down the tent. We tried to clap hands so we can chase them away, nothing happened. We ended up calling the reception to ask for help, they said they send help. 2hrs passed at it was a bird party on top of the tent. They even stopped answering our calls. We came here tired and left the next day tired!!! Never coming here again!!

We booked three en-suite rooms two months before hand. One month before, we phoned to confirm our booking and received an email stating that they were sorry but the people staying in our rooms the day before we arrived had decided to stay some extra days and so we would not be able to get the rooms we booked.
We complained and were then reassured that they would have our rooms when we arrived. To make sure we requested a pro-forma invoice.
On our arrival there was only one room available ! We were offered two tented rooms in exchange for the luxury rooms that weren’t available because there were other guests staying in them.
Eventually we took three tented rooms, one of which had no water at all and another had no hot water. A join in the wiring of a bedside lamp that was used to light the shower area was wet by the time my wife exited the shower, an accident waiting to happen ! A request to speak to the manager proved fruitless as he couldn’t be found , although the staff said that he was definitely on the property.
Later in the evening we were told by an employee that there were contractors staying in the rooms that we had originally booked.
Dinner was fine and bar service acceptable. The next morning to add insult to injury we were billed more than was on our invoice which we flatly refused to pay !
We’ll do everything in our power to avoid this establishment on future trips.
