I had a lovely stay with Aissa and Ughetta! My luggage was delayed and not only did they follow up with the airline to confirm delivery to the guesthouse, but clothing and toiletries were offered in the interim. Aissa and Ughetta offered recommendations to shop, eat, tour and travel (uber or taxi). Full breakfast was offered and was delicious. A guest refrigerator full of beverages and snacks is provided on an honor system. The guesthouse is very comfortable and peaceful. The bed was comfortable and room was spacious. The shower had good pressure; I never took a bath but it looked inviting. If you have an early start and leave before breakfast service starts, a packaged one will be available if you ask ahead. I would book again if visiting in the future! Booking and modifying my reservation was easy and Aissa & Ughetta were very responsive in responding, including accommodating my late arrival. THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL STAY!

The location of the guest house is perfectly located central to all your major attractions such as Camps Bay, the V&A waterfront and Table Mountain. It is also located high up on a hill which gives breathtaking views. The breakfast was scrumptious, beds super comfy and staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly.

Absolutely loved my stay at Bluegum Hill Guest House and cannot recommend it more highly. The team are fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. The location was perfect for getting around easily in Ubers and the view is just sensational. As a solo female traveller, I appreciated the friendly and relaxed atmosphere, balanced with the security measures in place such as a guard at the gate. Breakfast on the balcony was a lovely treat and the perfect way to start days of exploring Cape Town. I can't wait to return and have already recommended Bluegum Hill to other family members.

My lovely wife and I stayed here for five days while we were in Cape Town and it was beautiful. The two story house is set up on the mountain overlooking Cape Town and the harbor. The view is outstanding. The house decor is antique and feels comfortable. The living room has a large wooden table where breakfast is served. It's also where other guests gather after a day of exploring sharing things to do and places to eat. The staff were attentive and kept the room spotless. Breakfast was pleasant. You could eat inside enjoying the view or outside on the patio. We had to leave early to go fishing on two days and the staff prepared us a breakfast to go and left it in the fridge. The bed in our room was comfortable with a large screen TV on the wall, which Lynn and I never turned on. There is a spiral staircase leading to a comfortable couch and the pool. It is also where the fully stocked refrigerator waits. There is beer, wine, sodas, and water all at surprisingly low costs. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Bluegum Hill guest house and would gladly stay again.

I cannot say enough nice things about this place. The view is spectacular, drinks on the patio are a must. Daily breakfast of fresh fruit, yoghurt, eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, mushrooms, toast, freshly brewed coffee. The staff and owners are just lovely and are very willing to assist with any request. You must be able to climb the 40 or so steps in and out of the property, but you will soon get used to it and it helps to work off the breakfast! Ask for a room on the lower floor for direct access to the pool and patio. There is Netflix and YouTube to watch, no DStv.

We love staying at Bluegum Hill any time that we are in Cape Town, be it for business or for pleasure.
First and foremost, the view is sensational. The place is quaint, homely and spotlessly clean. The owners, Aissa and Ughetta have become friends. The staff is really wonderful. They are attentive and make a point of quickly getting to know the guests requirements. They are unobtrusive and always have a smile ready. They have worked at Bluegum Hill for years, which is testament of the great management offered by the owners.
Breakfast is an absolute treat, consumed with a magnificent view of the Atlantic ocean, Green Point Stadium, Robben Island and the entire bay. It is breath taking!
This is always our first choice as a home away from home.

Bluegum Hill is situated in a pristine spot in Greenpoint overlooking the harbour, Robben Island and the Greenpoint stadium, the views are absolutely breathtaking at sunrise and sunset. Over and above this the establishment is beautifully well kept and maintained and the hosts are amazing. The breakfast is definitely one for champions and there is plenty to go around. This place is perfect for a work visit stopover as well as for those visiting the Mother City for extended stays. you can go wrong with Buegum Hill.

An amazing find. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The panoramic view of Cape Town is awesome and cannot be beat. The guest house and rooms are tastefully decorated fusing afro and eurocentric styles. The hostesses and staff go out of their way to make you comfortable, honored and welcome. I will stay here on future visits to Cape Town.

Great location with a safe 15 Minute walk to the V&A Waterfront. The guest house has a view overthrow coast from the breakfast terrace and the pool. The breakfast buffet was delicious and included fresh fruits. Cooked breakfast is prepared freshly for you and is excellent. Ughetta and her staff were very friendly and helpful.

Hello again! We really appreciate your taking the time to let us have your review - Thank you so much! It is a lovely walk down to the Waterfront :) - recommended for during the day but better to use an Uber at night as there are not so many pedestrians walking in the area from up on the hill! We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Bluegum Hill! Best Wishes Ughetta

Hi there ! We would love to have you here ! Unfortunately our pool is not heated in the winter time ! Apologies !

Hi David The power outages are currently not happening in our suburb but they may start again at some point. Generally they last two hours and are planned on a timetable. We are having a battery system installed to run lights etc but no generator. We have emergency lights and gas to cook breakfast - it has not been too much of an issue so far. Many places have alternatives so for dinners etc so thats also not too much of a hassle. One can even download an app to see when and where the "loadshedding" will occur... basically it can be a bit irritating but has not generally affected the daily living here. Best Wishes Ughetta

Hi Hongrois! it is very easy and cheap to use a taxi to get around. The cost of a taxi from the guesthouse to the city centre is R30.00. An airport transfer is R280.00. we will happily call a taxi for you whenever you need one! The is also the Red Tour Bus (City Sightseeing Cape Town )which can take you all around the City, to Table Mountain, the beaches, or the Blue Tour Bus which can take you as far as Kirstenbosch Gardens and Hout Bay. It is very easy to get around Cape Town from Bluegum Hill Guesthouse without a car! Hope this was helpful! Best Wishes Ughetta
