It is a good choice of stay in Cape town. It is in walking distance to V&A waterfront, some restaurants and supermarket. It has a kitchen with a Cooktop, mini fridge, microwave and toaster. The front desk is there 24h to assist you with anything. The bed is comfortable and it has a good shower. Air conditioning was also good as it was a hot Summer. The only problems were the door, that didn't block noise from people arriving, but the fan inside muffled a little bit. They could also clean more the bedroom, as it always had some dust on the floor (although bathroom and kitchen were very clean).

Stayed at Greenhouse for about a week in June and it was a lovely experience. Excellent location on the Main Road, close to the V&A Waterfront, and down the road from cafe's and stores. Barbara and Harry were wonderful hosts who made my colleague and I feel right at home, and were always up for a friendly chat. Rooms were clean and provided everything we needed. There was a microwave on the shared landing, and cutlery and plates were available to take as needed. The room had a mini fridge, and coffee/tea making facilities. The bed was big and comfortable, and the bathroom, while small, was very clean and comfortable. The room was perfect for someone like me who was the only occupant. I also had access to an iron and ironing board, which I appreciated very much. The guesthouse is charming with wooden floors and stained glass doors in the reception, and it was a serene space to be in. My room was at the back which meant I could enjoy the overall quiet and privacy. No breakfast, but seeing as there are multiple excellent cafes and restaurants down the road, this is not a drawback at all. The only point I have is that the wall between my room and the neighboring room was very thin, and I was able to hear certain nightly sounds from the couple occupying that room. Because the bedframe seems to be mounted against the wall in question, drywall if I'm correct, I did feel some movement and vibration. It might be a good idea to inform guests that walls are thin and sound travels.

I've seen some reviews mentioning homeless people, but that is the reality of South Africa, no matter the neighborhood, and Barbara and Harry cannot be held responsible for that. They were lovely hosts who were genuinely interested in their guests, and I would certainly recommend Greenhouse to other travellers.

Secure onsite parking is a problem at this establishment. Somerset road is very busy with 24 hour traffic noise. There is a group of homeless people staying across the road. It is part of a complex of houses very close to one another on the street and the people in the next door house partied until late at night.

Met by Gordon when we checked in. Gordon knows the area and gave us great tips on places to eat and things to do! This is a real plus for us tourists!! Cute boutique hotel at a reasonable price and walking distance to the V&A waterfront and downtown Cape Town!! Clean rooms, comfortable beds and plenty of hot water for a shower. Our room, also had a small refrig, and coffee machine. Would stay there again!!

Fabulous location .. as 2 friends we chose a room with 2 separate bedroom areas which suited us well and had a big balcony. Couple of niggles with electrics that Harry quickly sorted. Great base to explore this amazing city

The hotel was very comfortable. Harry and Barbara was very nice. From reservation to the time we get there and check out. Location was great, walking distance to V&A. Even if it close to the street, we did not have trouble sleeping.

Had a great stay at the Greenhouse Boutique Hotel. Location is perfect, walking distance to lots of major attractions during the day and only a short uberride at night. A few parking places available upon request (subject to availability of course), very convenient to us in order to hand in our rental car the 2nd day of our stay. Our room was very nicely decorated, not huge but absolutely perfect for us. Fridge, good airco, WiFi, comfortable bed, tv. Some extra light at the bathroom mirror would be convenient. Very affordable. Would absolutely recommend this place!

We stayed at the hotel for one night after dining out at the V&A. Great location due to its proximity but parking is limited to about 3 cars. No water / coffee etc in the room although there is a kitchen area. The sitcom is the room was in serious need of a service and was throwing out ice cubes the entire night. The staff on duty when we arrived and checked out where also really miserable which left a bad taste in my mouth.

Hi Jean Thank you very much for your candid review of your recent stay at our hotel. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us, as we strive to improve with each and every stay. I greatly appreciate your comments and will look into the matters you raised about no coffee (which is part of our daily amenity service) and the aircon. Parking is not advertised as part of our service on the booking sites but we try to help guests where we can. Kind regards Barbara

Enjoyed our stay. Nearby Greenpoint Stadium and could walk and felt save. Shops and restaurants are close by. Would have loved more coffee in the rooms.

Rooms were very comfy. Will stay again. Staff was friendly.
