Stayed here before and after my lemosho Kilimanjaro route. Absolutely wonderful. Service is outstanding, rooms large and beautiful, food great. Views of Kilimanjaro outstanding. Visit the coffee plantation too and hike to the waterfall. Also they have a donation program for you to leave anything you don’t need with them and they distribute to the needy. Really loved it here.

I highly recommend Halisi lodge. From the moment we arrived from the airport, the team at Halisi was incredibly accommodating, friendly and welcoming. We got in fairly late on our first night, but there was a full compliment of staff waiting to greet us and serve us some delicious juice before cooking us a fresh meal. James, the chef, is great-- hearty home-cooked, locally-sourced foods were prepared for us each day, with variations crafted according to our preferences (gluten-free, non-dairy, etc). The location is gorgeous-- We got to tour the surrounding organic coffee farm, and trek over to a nearby waterfall-- and the staff went above and beyond expectations at every opportunity. When we arrived back at the lodge after 6 days of hiking Kilimanjaro, some staff members even washed our gators and boots so we wouldn't have to tote dirty gear back. Karibu sana to Prince and the entire team! Can't wait to come back.

We were taken from Kilimanjaro Airport to Kilimanjaro Halisi Retreat, where we were met with hot soup and delicious bread at 11 p.m. What a gracious welcome to Tanzania! We woke the next morning to a breathtaking view of Mt. Kilimanjaro (lots of people who climb the mountain begin and end at this serenely lovely place) and a delicious breakfast. Prince and his staff were superb, attentive, providing a variety of wonderful meals and gracious service during our three nights there. It is also a "green" place -- not only because it is located in the middle of a coffee plantation, but because they are committed to the environment, running on solar power and using a Swiss filtration system for the drinking water to avoid the excessive use of plastic bottles. Great place!

Stayed here overnight after arriving at Kilimanjaro International Airport and before heading out on a safari. We arrived late but staff was very welcoming and got us settled in to our cottage quickly. Accommodations were very clean and comfortable and we slept very well! Breakfast was tasty with a variety of options. We had a brief but stunning view of Kili before it clouded over again. Would stay here again

This retreat is excellent overall. We stayed two nights as a part of a two week trip and they exceeded our expectations. Staff very courteous. Accommodations very comfortable, coffee/tea tour and nature walk was informative and the food is outstanding.
