Travellers' Choice
Kagga Kamma is an absolute treat for travellers seeking a unique and inspiring experience. On your visit you will see a part of Africa that is unlike any other. The Cederberg Mountain’s otherworldly rock formations, a crisp sky stretching endlessly overhead and beautiful rock art from an ancient culture, is the backdrop to a wonderful adventure. Kagga Kamma’s accommodation options are as unique as the landscape it is set in. The Bushman Lodge offers spacious en-suite thatched rondavels/huts. The famous 'cave suites' built against the sandstone rock formations will take you back to a prehistoric time without taking away any modern-day luxuries. Kagga Kamma also offers a one of a kind Outcrop open-air “room” where guests can sleep under the stars in sheer luxury - definitely a not-to-be-missed experience.Speaking of the stars...Take a tour into the milky way when you visit our mini-observatory. It promises to be an inspirational experience when you view the Karoo night skies through our 10-inch telescope. While the sun is out you can opt for a journey back in time with our popular rock art tours. Our expert ranger will interpret the 6000 year old Bushmen paintings and living sites scattered all across the nature reserve.Other activities to be enjoyed at Kagga Kamma include relaxing nature drives with our knowledgeable guides, hiking trails, quad bike safaris, mountain bike trails, a 4x4 route and our Kagga Kamma Relax Spa. Even eating out at Kagga Kamma will be a matchless experience when you visit the restaurant for breakfast and lunch, and an outdoor lapa surrounded by beautiful rock formations for dinner under the starlit night skies in summer time. There is also a pub and lounge area with Wi-Fi internet, as well as satellite television for watching sports events. GPS co-ordinates:Latitude: S 32 44 45Longitude: E 19 33 46

We spent two wonderful days at Kagga Kamma. The Lodge staff were excellent, courteous, helpful and always willing and cheerful. The same for the tour guides, who were informative and made the tours interesting and fun. We took the Rock Art and Sundowner tours and recommend both. All in all a wonderful time. We were there over Valentines and the extras the Lodge put on was tremendous. One point to note, the road to the lodge is fairly rough.

We have only positive reviews of Kagga Kamma, however, the journey there & back is not suitable for ordinary vehicles, you MUST have a 4 wheel drive. We had to drive so slowly over the 35km of unmade road, we wondered if we would ever get there!, let alone the worry of being in a hire car in case anything happened! It was worth it though!, we had a superior cave suite for the night and found the whole experiance really good. The views, sky, stars were supberb. There had been heavy rain during the day, (unusual I think!) , however not enough tables laid out for dinner, meant a short wait but the staff handled very well. The food was excellent, and also the following mornings breakfast. We only stayed 1 night, I think to appreciate the location & facilties (tours & pool) you should do at least 2 nights. :)

Kagga Kamma is relaxed luxury in the middle of very big nature. It is wonderful to experience the magnificent views with 360 degrees of pure beautiful nature and the most amazing night skies with so many stars. The rock art and sundowner tours can be highly recommended (Remco is an excellent guide). We stayed one night in the open air Star Suite around 20 minutes drive from the lodge. It is a suite in front of a beautiful vertical rock - despite quite a bit of wind and a somewhat cold bath and shower, this was a truly unique experience not to be missed. The second night we stayed in a “cave” on location which was very nice and it actually felt like a cave. The views from the cave were great. Service is excellent and the food is good (the portions are very big!). There is also a nice pool.

Loved the place . Unique land scape . Loved being off the grid . No wifi In chalet. BUT I strongly suggest you only use a 4 wheel drive to get there . It’s 35 km of unsealed road to the resort . We had a normal car and we were gritting our teeth all the way.

The staff were all friendly, we were welcomed at the gate by someone named Noal, very friendly and then we got to the reception area, Oh Wow, there I met this beautiful, amazing, wonderful, friendly, kind, helpful, professional lady receptionist named Chrizelda van Wyk. She was always ready to assist throughout our stay, she helped where she could, always a smile on her face. She defnitely deserves a bonus! And for me receptionist of the year! And a 5 star rating from me👌🏻 I didn't get to meet all the others. So if you ever attend Kagga Kamma, you won't be dissapointed, as I've said all staff were friendly and so helpful! Great team you got together at Kagga Kamma. May God richly bless each and every one of you❤ Big ups!!

WOW.... What an absolute experience and I am very excited about this place. We went there over December. We had some rainy nights but the staff went over and above to make us comfortable even though we understood that it was beyond their control. Scenery and atmosphere is spectacular and definitely something different. The kitchen staff was complimented by us on each meal. Kagga Kamma will see us again this time in the winter to experience the snow. Thank you for this once in a life time experience.
