Kagga Kamma is an absolute treat for travellers seeking a unique and inspiring experience. On your visit you will see a part of Africa that is unlike any other. The Cederberg Mountain’s otherworldly rock formations, a crisp sky stretching endlessly overhead and beautiful rock art from an ancient culture, is the backdrop to a wonderful adventure. Kagga Kamma’s accommodation options are as unique as the landscape it is set in. The Bushman Lodge offers spacious en-suite thatched rondavels/huts. The famous 'cave suites' built against the sandstone rock formations will take you back to a prehistoric time without taking away any modern-day luxuries. Kagga Kamma also offers a one of a kind Outcrop open-air “room” where guests can sleep under the stars in sheer luxury - definitely a not-to-be-missed experience.Speaking of the stars...Take a tour into the milky way when you visit our mini-observatory. It promises to be an inspirational experience when you view the Karoo night skies through our 10-inch telescope. While the sun is out you can opt for a journey back in time with our popular rock art tours. Our expert ranger will interpret the 6000 year old Bushmen paintings and living sites scattered all across the nature reserve.Other activities to be enjoyed at Kagga Kamma include relaxing nature drives with our knowledgeable guides, hiking trails, quad bike safaris, mountain bike trails, a 4x4 route and our Kagga Kamma Relax Spa. Even eating out at Kagga Kamma will be a matchless experience when you visit the restaurant for breakfast and lunch, and an outdoor lapa surrounded by beautiful rock formations for dinner under the starlit night skies in summer time. There is also a pub and lounge area with Wi-Fi internet, as well as satellite television for watching sports events. GPS co-ordinates:Latitude: S 32 44 45Longitude: E 19 33 46
What a spoiling. Our Italian friend stayed in one of the caves and loved it No. 14. He did have a problem with not getting hot water but did report it but sadly not fixed in time as we only had one night there but it did not spoil our experience. We ourselves had a hut which was lovely. All the staff were outstanding and went the extra mile for us. We are bringing our friends from UK to stay in February and are really looking forward to that. Food was excellent. So lovely to just be looked after and spoilt for a night. Thank you to the team at Kagga Kamma.

The staff are amazing, friendly and very helpful. Our room, a cave, was beautiful and luxurious with a very comfortable bed. The restaurant was very homely with a lovely menu. Fabulous food and well presented. The only sufficient word I can use to describe our stay experience is "MAGNIFICENT"!!! We will definitely be back!

We spent two nights in a Cave Room at the nature reserve. It exceeded our expectations. The staff were all excellent, the food great and the surroundings peaceful. Would recommend fellow visitors to South Africa make the journey to this wonderful location.

The nature in the area is absolutely stunning, definitely worthwhile to go there. Especially the 2 hours hike is phantastic. The morning and sunset drives are nice, but nothing compared to game drives in other lodges. We enjoyed the sunset drive more. Stargazing was disappointing for us. We were very close o the lodge, so the lights still disturbed quite a lot. Also what we were shown with the telescope was the Jupiter with some of its moons and one star. The promised moon was not shown and Saturn would have been much more interesting than the star. Practically we can see everything with our small telescope at home in Germany as well. The cave suites were a bit disappointing for us, as they were really small and you did not have much place to put your suitcases. One one evening we celebrated the birthday of my wife in the private boma. Staff had prepared a very nice table in a beautiful place and made a great service! Thanks to all the team. Also food was quite good, but no star cuisine.…

What a fantastic location. Pure bliss in Africa. Rock formations that are fascinating to say the least. Magnificent surroundings. We stayed in Cave 9 for 3 nights. It’s definitely a unique experience. The rooms are not big but adequate. Could do with more hanging space. Very clean rooms and bathrooms. Hot running water. Linen and toweling of excellent quality. Staff was exceptionally polite and helpful. We did the easy 7km hike which took us through some spectacular rock formations and some rock art. Saw antelope, rick rabbits and a variety of birds and beautiful desert flowers. The highlights was the open air couple massage we had with what I would describe as probably one of the most beautiful open spa views in the world. A beautiful touch base a that after your 60min massage with was excellent you are offered a fruit platter and bubbles to enjoy for 30 minutes. The food was good with the fillet and chocolate mousse being excellent. Management is accessible and visible at all times. Star gazing is a must. A place we would highly recommend…

We recently had our elopement ceremony at Kagga Kamma. I cannot speak highly enough of all the help we received in making this the perfect day it was. I would recommend it to absolutely anyone! Jennie was so kind and patient with me, she answered each and every question I had. All the staff went above and beyond in every sense. Jaco was really the best tour guide ever, we were lucky enough to have him teach us all sorts of interesting things on the sunset drive, the rock art tour and the star gazing. He had such enthusiasm about everything he said, it was just captivating... we definitely left wiser. As for the food... WOW.. every meal we had was just incredible! We also had the pleasure of the most fantastic bar tender and waiter named Nathan, he paid attention to every detail and was just a treat to talk to. The views are unreal and nature is all around you.. I can only think of one word to describe Kagga Kamma ... and that is MAGICAL! We honestly cannot wait to return. …

The staff at Kagga Kamma went out of their way to create the most magical elopement experience. I would suggest this to absolutely anyone thinking of eloping. even if you are planning a larger wedding, perhaps rethink and book your weekend at Kagga Kamma. A special thank you to Ryno for creating the wedding of my dreams, even if it was just for the two of us.

We were truly surprised at the level of service and quality of the hidden away gem. Lot's of rules on arrival but otherwise really superb with amazing and delightful culinary excess. We loved everything about Kagga Kamma - maybe not the sand on the way in - we werer on motorcycles.

I chose Kagga Kamma to propose to my girlfriend (she said yes) and the team at Kagga Kamma did an amazing job! The service was excellent, they were all in on the proposal and kept it a surprise. They set everything up for the special day and truly made it an unforgettable moment for us. My fiance and I will definitely be back as it is a special place to visit.
