Stayed two nights here on this island, it's a bit quieter and more chilled than HHI. I like that the resort is located on Jungle Road, that's cool.
We figure it would be a good spot to relax here for a few days.
There's not much to do and we stuck around the resort most of our time here.
We pulled into the parking lot and someone came out to us to check our name. She told us someone would be coming out to us in a few and they were out to check us in and bring us all of our wristbands and check-in info. It made it convenient since it's late in the evening and it's steadily raining outside too.
We stayed at Marsh Point in the 700s Unit.
The wrist band is your key for your room and many other things too.
I would try to get a room that has a view of the water. Our rooms view is the parking, how fantastic is that, we should have asked ahead of our arrival.
There is an screened in porch with a fan, that's nice. It's even screened in below the wood plank on the porch to keep the bugs out. The screen door is rather sticky and hard to open and close.
The jacuzzi in our room is so big, it was big enough for 3 adults or 5 kids. The shower is quite small. They could definitely have made the shower bigger and the jacuzzi that we don't plan on using smaller.
It was a comfortable stay. Our room was clean. It would have been nice to have the usual small bottle of dish soap to clean the random cup or bowl instead of running the whole load for a 2 items here and there. We actually used the kitchen, so, that worked out well.
We also enjoyed the enclosed porch, but had some flies still inside the porch.
The bathroom is a bit dated, but the room is cozy and allows time to chill, eat and rest.
We would stay here again for a relaxing and easy going beach stay, since there’s not much else to do on this island and it’s slim pickings for food options to go out here too.

Stayed here for a week at the end of August, beginning of September. Check in process was very smooth, outside, and employees had masks out. We stayed at Ocean Point and had an nice view of the sound. The room was clean and had everything we needed (except a few more towels). Housekeeping did come to give us more towels. Our room was very warm and the fridge did not cool down (it was working fine) the first day. Maintenance told us that Housekeeping typically keeps it opened during cleaning and it takes almost 12 hours to begin getting cool. I wish they would have mentioned in check in, but the fridge began working during the trip.
We loved our balcony, beautiful at night, but a lot of bugs this time of year. The sound was never crowded, water warm, and you could see dolphins in the afternoon. Very cool. We did drive to the ocean, not far at all, and enjoyed the waves. Very little to do in town, just one supermarket, a few restaurants, so bring food and make sure you have your medicine. No pharmacy either. The Grills were not great either, but we still made food in our unit throughout the week. Wi-Fi was sporadic.
Our family really enjoyed the ocean and stay. We played Putt Putt and swam in the pools. Getting a pool time via text due to COVID. Would recommend and stay again. Especially if you want to do nothing but swim and hang at the beach.

If you’re looking for an extremely quiet resort were you can do nothing and just enjoy the peace and quiet, and maybe watch the dolphins swim up the river, then this location is for you.
If you’re looking for excitement find another location.
We had the opportunity to enjoy the weeks vacation with my daughter, her husband, and our granddaughter, at the Wyndham Ocean Ridge on Edistow Beach, South Carolina the week after Christmas.
Our condo was on the first floor facing the Edistow River, Which afforded us the opportunity to occasionally watch the dolphins swim in the river below us. The condo is well-kept and the property is maintained in good condition. The only drawback that I saw to this location is the fact that it takes you about 30 minutes to drive from the main highway to the resort, With nothing in between. Other than that we had no complaints
Staff at the resort was very accommodating and helpful when we inquired about restaurants, activities or Charleston South Carolina which we did go into for New Year’s Eve.
Once again if you’re looking for peace and quiet this is a very nice place to visit.

This was our first trip to Edisto and with very few options of places to stay we booked the Wyndham for the two night minimun they required. We were traveling to Edisto for a surprise 50th birthday party and several of us had booked rooms here. A few people in our group called several times leading up to the visit to request rooms near each other and an early check in as well. We were told] that our rooms were not close to each other ( actually about 1/4 mile away from each other) and they assured us that they would try and accommodate an earlier checkin then their normal 4PM check in because we had a surprise party that started at 5PM. They said this would be noted and put in the system. When we arrived at the property at 3pm we were told that none of the 4 rooms we booked would be ready even though they saw our request for early check in and that they would get the rooms ready ASAP, they then tried to persuade us to sit through an 1.5 hour seminar the next day to sell us a Wyndham time share. We left and explored Edisto, returning at 4PM ready to check in and agin were told none of the rooms were even close to ready. After getting the run around for about 40 minutes and no one on the property there to help resolve the situation, we were given the room key to one of the rooms that another guest in our party was staying in (because at 4:50pm) that was the only one of the 4 rooms cleaned). That guest was not even with us when we were given the key to their room, we only gave their name and explained they were in our group. We rushed to that room to get ready for a party we were all going to late to, and when we walked in the room, one of the rooms had the bed sheets in shambles and one bathroom had not been cleaned. We proceeded to get ready in a half cleaned room of which that guest was not even with us yet. The entire situation was handled so unprofessionally by Wyndham, who keeps trying to pass the blame off on a third booking party. The bottom line is they had plenty of opportunity to either get the rooms ready or be honest with us at 3pm when we first arrived. They were too worried about selling time shares. Rooms were never cleaned great and had a bad oder, this property gives Wyndham a bad name. Lastly, I unfortunately left something in the room that was found by housekeeping and when I called to have them ship it back to me last week they so kindly told me they would discount the $30 shipping fee for 20% which I paid. When I checked this morning, a week later, the shipping label has yet to even be printed. I have not received a phone call back in over a week to discuss any of this. Wyndham keeps trying to blame 3rd party booking, which his really the only way to b book at this property.

Check in took a bit but they only had one employee doing it. Michelle was very kind and very helpful though. She wasn’t pushy about attending the meeting update. We ended up scheduling to attend because it was only 30min and it was raining all day. We went to Charleston and we knew we weren’t going to get back in time so we canceled. My husband called three times only to receive a text that was a little odd about how they couldn’t hear him. I responded to cancel and told them we had no other availability. Surprised they didn’t respond but that’s ok. The unit was beautiful. The smoke alarm battery in one bedroom was chirping and the tv in another room was very pixilated. I requested 9v batteries and said I’d change it myself. They brought it in a timely matter. We swapped cable with another tv that wasn’t being used and that issue was resolved. Every time I requested anything such as a blanket, laundry soap, etc, we never waited over 30min. We can only imagine how beautiful this location is when it’s nice outside. But this was a perfect stop on our two week road trip. We had an issue with restaurants being open despite their posted hours online. Many were closed due to the season, or they had modified hours, or they closed for an employee party (which is nice to know they value their employees). We didn’t starve by any means but it was a let down to see something online and decide what looked good to eat, only to find out it was closed.
The beach was clean and beautiful. We were able to catch the dolphins out on their schedule but it wasn’t like I imagined I’d see but it was still beautiful. You’d only see a fin come above water.

We stayed in The Villages outside the check in gate across the street on Dockside in unit 690. We were offered room 691. It was bright. We discovered we had to climb 2 sets of steep stairs. We asked to be on the lower floor in room 690 so we would only have to climb up one set of steep stairs. This unit was a tad bit darker because of the surrounding trees. Both units were spotless. The jetted tub is humongous and so is the shower. The TV is in a weird location. I love the wrap around porch. We stayed here over 10 years ago. Back rhenthe water smelled horrific despite the water filter. Room 690 had regular smelling water. Be careful. Right after the little strip of stores, 2 deer were in the middle of the street on Lybrand avenue. We were here for a funeral so the quietude and nature was welcoming. It was cold and did not warm up to 70 degrees until the day we were checking out. So we are returning next month.

This is our first time staying on Edisto Island and we're glad we were able to stay at Ocean Ridge. The two-bedroom suite was really top rate with a full kitchen, comfortable furniture, a deck overlooking the golf course where we were able to view the year-round residents (deer) every evening and vaulted ceilings. The kitchen is a real benefit considering there are only about a half-dozen restaurants at Edisto Island Beach. The only rub was the pillows were a bit lacking for our taste, but the bed was comfortable.

This was a roomy well appointed unit with a balcony and view of a pond and the 18th fairway. We did not take advantage of the amenities on the property however they looked lovely. Staff was very accommodating when we requested additional laundry & dishwasher detergent, coffee, trash bags, etc.

We exchanged through RCI & came to this resort with another couple . We appreciated the size of the 2 bed/2bath unit - it was clean with comfortable furniture and ample dishes and cookware which was great for when we wanted to stay in and cook a meal. There is a small food lion nearby for groceries and supplies. We knew there was not a lot to do on the island, so we had plenty of time to relax! When the weather cooperated we went to the beach (and it was great that there were free lounge chairs and Cabana with bathrooms) or the pool. We took a day trip into Charleston- it is over an hour each way. My husband and I had been to Savannah and Hilton Head Island earlier in the year so we didn’t go back but those would be options for day trips as well. Our unit was on the third floor (as the ground floor is a carport), so be aware if you have mobility issues as there are a lot of stairs.

Outdated , I do not want to clean when one my first day of vacation. Coffee pot was dirty, dinning room seat seam was ripped off , vents were dirty and could be mold growing there. Mouse dropping behind sofa and chair. Told staff about outside stairway lights and garage area were out ,never fixed.
