We squeezed a three-night break into our 14-day holiday in the Seychelles, and boy were we glad that we did. In hindsight, we wished that we had spent longer on this idyllic island.

The Seychelles is a very special place, everywhere you go, across all the islands, you are blessed with Instagramable beaches, flora, and fauna. But there is something very special about Felicite.

The island itself is dramatic and beautiful, with giant granite boulders, and tropical forests. However, in our opinion what makes the Six Senses Zil Payson stand out from the rest is the ethos and atmosphere that permeates everything on the island. Because it is done so elegantly and it feels so effortless to you as a guest, you simply float around the island in a relaxed, cossetted bubble. Turning up for dinner whenever you fancy, finding a completely secluded place on the beach to watch the baby sharks, attending free sound therapy sessions in the spa, or calling on your ever-smiling and happy GEM to arrange something for you to do.

You stroll down the beach to rest in the shade and wish you had brought some water with you, don't worry it's already there waiting for you, you feel like having a cocktail, here is one served with a view of the sunset, don't want to leave your amazing villa, just swim around your own pool and order food to be delivered to you.

And at every touch point or interaction, it feels as though you are just chatting to a friend. Nothing is too much trouble, everything seems easy and as a consequence, even the most stressed out of us have no choice but to relax, recharge, and go with the flow.

Having already spent 7 nights on Praslin in a 5-star hotel we thought we were relaxed....we, as it turns out, didn't know what 'relaxed' was until we arrived here!

We left this island floating on air and we would 100% attribute this to the staff, it's abundantly clear that this hotel is expertly managed. The team provides guests with exactly the right balance of privacy and attentive service, very impressive.

The only thing we would change...next time we will stay longer!

We have just returned from wonderful holidays in the Seychelles and were lucky enough to spend 6 nights at the Six Senses Zil Pasyon.

We have stayed at quite some very beautiful places throughout the years but Zil Pasyon was sheer perfection! There was absolutely nothing I could remotely think of to complain about!

The architecture of the villas is smoothely embedded in the island's landscape. The villas are spacious bevond need and the views breathtaking. Housekeeping was most friendly and perfectly done.

The staff of the hotel is everything! A big shout out to Ryan, our GEM, who was immediately there when needed, but gave us also all the room and privacy we wanted. Ryan is most friendly and we can't thank him enough for picking us up to see the newly hatched turtles! All the staff, often most successfully, remembered our names and made us feel more than at home!

The food is also beyond words! There is no buffet, which we very much welcomed, but everything is ordererd a la carte! The produce is fresh and partly even locally sourced (we loved the more sustainable ideas put behind so much on the island). The scallop ceviche will forever be remembered!!! Congratulations to the team of chefs!

The beaches are amazing, you can encounter sharks, turtels and tons of fish! The grand Anse was mostly entirely left to the three of us!

As you can see I can only write in superlatives and could continue for another hour. If you enjoy peace and quiet, away from crowds, we can only highly recommend the resort! We loved it so much and definitely want to return!

There are no words but we'll give it a go.

Our stay at Six Senses was absolute perfection. The location, food, activities and accommodation are all outstanding.

What makes Zil Pasyon a cut above the rest however is the service. If you are after formal or stuffy attention and atmosphere, this is not the place for you. This is relaxed and sustainable luxury at its finest. Six Senses are not shy about communicating their values and ethos and it's safe to say, they practice what they preach. Staff work to get to know you and understand what you want out of your stay. Our GEM, Nhi, was quite simply fantastic and we've no doubt made our stay the best that it could be. The most taxing decision we had to make in five days was whether to eat in the villa or at the restaurant and even this was solved with a flip coin provided in your villa.

As an aside, we were staying at the resort as the world went into lockdown. We could not have felt in safer hands and the whole team made sure that our holiday wasn't affected, challenging themselves to find new and intimate (given that we were two of four guests staying) ways to make our stay "out of the ordinary". Friendly and approachable the team even humoured my cricket loving husband and let him join in their match for a couple of hours. The food and beverage team were visibly excited to prepare a dining experience for us in a unique location where they had never set up before, serving some of our favourite food and drink much to our delight. They even accommodated our request for a menu signed by the chef to take home as a souvenir.

Our only gripe (If you can call it that), at the most beautiful outdoor film screening in the world was the poor choice of movies and our inability to impact these even though we were the only ones in the audience! It almost seemed like someone was playing a joke on us. Sonic the Hedgehog: not perfect honeymoon fodder.

The food and drink were sublime. The ability to order food to your villa, have it arrive in 35 minutes and be presented to such a standard was almost unbelievable. More than once since returning home we have gone to pick up the phone to order in a Six Senses culinary delight (and been sorely disappointed!).

Whether luxury trips are the norm, this is a once in a lifetime holiday or you simply love to explore new things and places, Six Senses Zil Pasyon cannot disappoint.

We're counting down the days 'til we return (and wish we had never left!)...

It is a stunning resort with top-notch villas with pools and beautiful views. I do not want to repeat the same superlative comments below, but they are all true. Starting from our GEM Kaaren, restaurant waiting staff, to buggy drivers and housekeeping, every one of them was attentive and polite. There are three beaches at the resort, but we could not swim because of strong waves and currents during our stay. Lastly, the resort is very expensive due to its remote location but worth it due to its exclusiveness, total privacy, and tranquility.

We are just on our way home from a week stay in Six Senses on Ile Felicite and we are profoundly sad we have to leave this piece of paradise. We enjoyed Six Senses in Krabey Island in Cambodia and this was our second Six Senses property and it did not disappoint. We chose a helicopter ride to and from hotel. 19 minute ride was enjoyed also by our small kids and it was a perfect introduction to the islands. The other choice a plane and boat is I think more complicated but safer if the bad weather comes. We had a gorgeous weather though so the heli ride was a top notch experience. Immediately after we landed, our GEM, a smiling and helpful lady called Sam showed us everything. From the moment we set a foot onto the island, nothing went wrong. Our villa, no.11 was one of 4 Zil Pasyon villas and came with an outdoor shower as well as cabana. The view over the ocean surpassed expectations. The villa itself was spacious ( two adults and two kids 7,11) we had a plenty of space. It was clean, pleasant, stylish...simply out of this world :) and we never slept with closed windows. We wanted to see the ocean. The waves crashing was our lullaby. Hotel beaches are not for those who are looking for a regular beach holiday as access is limited and rolling waves bring corals which hit your feet. It is a good thing the have water shoes and you have to as quickly as possible to deeper water and then it is fine. But the beach stay itself is a wow factor. We loved the Grand Anse, the biggest beach for a walk on a soft sand and relax under the palms. Right at the very end there two cabanas tucked under the palms. Use them! Everything is green and really alive. We went for a hike to the top of Felicite and saw a giant coco du mer palm as well. A max 2 hrs hike before breakfast is very pleasant. The breakfast itself are all a la carte with a fruit platter and excellnet pastry always on side. Drinks, pool, in villa dining everything was great. We suggest walking instead of using buggies as the walk is through a lush green forest and from villa 11 to reception it takes 10 minutes and all the way to Grand Anse max 20 mins. If you want a daytrip just hop onto a boat a ride to nearby La Digue for a different island feeling.
Six Senses did not fail us in anything and we will gladly come back. A great, peaceful hotel where you really unwind and just watch and feel elements like sun, ocean, rain. Go there now :)

The views and scenery on Felicite island (the resort) are astonishing and it is only a 20-minute trip by helicopter from Mahe island. You really feel that you're on a private island enjoying all the perks the resort has to offer.

However, the tailored and so-called 'personalized' service is terrible as they assign you with a butler (they call them GEMS) throughout your stay, but you don't actually interact with them since they keep on sending their colleagues to confirm trips/activities, which doesn't mean you're having a personalized service and you need to repeat your requests every time.

The restaurant service is horrible as well as it takes half an hour to get someone to write your order and another 40 minutes to receive your food/drinks!

The villas are scattered across one-third of the island and it makes it hard sometimes to walk from your villa to the Experience Center and Restaurants, and it takes around 40 minutes to get a buggy to take you where you want to go...

Difficult to know where to start. The room had a beautiful layout, sensational views, well equipped with Fridge, wine cooler, coffee machine and Ice maker, however it was showing its age, a little and needed attention soon. The beaches are not particularly inviting or impressive.
There is basically one restaurant where you have breakfast lunch and dinner, save for the theme nights where the ocean restaurant opens. On one occasion for breakfast I ordered scrambled eggs on toast with Avocado, I was told the avocado wasn't freshly sliced but more of a Guacamole, I said no to the Avocado. along comes an inch thick slice of toast half covered with Guacamole the other in what I can only describe as half an egg scrambled, It was quite pathetic. I sent it back and was told the chef had been asked to make me a very large scrambled egg, all I wanted was a normal portion nothing else.
Before dinner we had a drink in the bar, I ordered a Gin and Tonic, there was no tonic in the bar the guy had to run to the store room he brought back 2 bottles, what cocktail bar is not stocked with Tonic water??
Chopsticks night was a disaster at a cost of £150 per head for those on bed and breakfast it consisted of a limited 2 choice per course menu. we decided on the Lobster spring roll, which had exactly zero lobster in it, followed by the Rendang beef, It was so tough basically inedible . We complained to the staff and a discussion took place with the Executive chef who basically walked off and said nothing. To add insult I ordered a bottle of wine and the waitress who brought it over to the table had never opened a bottle of wine before, so I had to open it myself to save her from being embarrassed. After that evening we had room service 3 time which was good, but didn't envisage eating Pad Thai in my room for a week.
The resort seemed totally understaffed with the exception of Marcus who worked the Pool, the bar and the restaurant nobody else there seemed to care in the slightest. I get the whole Six Senses theme, but this bordered on a complete lack of service and attention by everyone. We cut short our stay by a day , and went to the Constance Lemuria, totally different vibe but let me say the food the service and the attention was absolutely top class and very much welcomed. You just get the feeling that since the IHG takeover in 2019, too much emphasis is put on expansion and profits over good old customer service.

Great stay. Paradise on earth. Amazing experience. I loved the concept as well as all the staff energy in achieving the 100% sustainability of the resort !! The experience center gave us the chance and the support needed to enjoying incredible experiences with kids also (snorkeling, excursions to other islands, helicopter…)

The GEM (the experience manager once there you are assigned to) was at our disposal all the time and her contribution to make our stay perfect has been Key !!

Let me add here only one remark to make all the above reliable…
The restaurant in the resort serves great food and the menu is quite fulfilling however, exception done for some nights offering special cuisines, the dinner options we could choose from were not plenty of choice.

… I was missing the very best of the resort. The Room is breathtaking!!!!

Our family had the most amazing week's stay at the gorgeous Six Senses Zil Payson Resort and it was just what we all needed. We decided to get the helicopter to take us there which was incredible and definitely the best option as it was only 20 minutes from the mainland. We were greeted by the staff on arrival and whisked away via a buggie to our accommodation.

We were staying in the Signature Two Bedroom Pool Villa, which has the most incredible views over the ocean and surrounding palm trees. The villa was a lot bigger than we thought and there was plenty of space for the four of us, it felt really secluded and the pool area was gorgeous. We could also walk down to the main area which took just over five minutes or so.

Over the course of the week, we managed to do quite a few of the experiences that they offer such as the Boules and BBQ down by the beach which was incredible, the kayaking over to Coco Island, the wine cellar dinner, lunch on the beach, deep sea fishing, a boat trip for the day and finally the hilltop sunset experience which was stunning- we would recommend any of these and it's something a bit fun and different to do as the resort itself is quite small.

The resort was laid-back and it felt like we had it to ourselves half the time, the Grand Anse beach was paradise and the boulders everywhere on the island are amazing, we also got to see some turtles nesting a few times which was really special.

The food was always incredible and you could request whatever you wanted and we had a lovely Creole themed night one evening which the lovely Julia told us to do and they really pulled out all the stops for this and it was nice to try the local food. They also cooked our fish that we caught from the deep sea fishing experience one evening, which was delicious and prepared different ways.

The staff at the resort were really what made our trip unforgettable, they were extremely friendly and good fun, a special mention goes out to Sam (our GEM) who went above and beyond for any request we had and was so bubbly and sweet, Julia, Nishanta and Indika who we really got to know over the week and always had huge smiles on their faces and were lovely and chatty and their service was excellent.

We hope to come back in the not so distant future and experience the resort when life is back to normal.

The property occupies an absolutely stunning private island. The rooms/villas are wonderful (in some way I feel the website pictures don't do them justice) and go from the beaches up all the way on the hill. Meaning that everyone should be able to pick their favourite: some people might like proximity to the water, while others being on a higher level.

I personally prefer the latter, and the views from the villas high up the hill are just breathtaking - no matter what time of the day. By far, my favourite thing of this resort. If you like to spend a big part of your time in the room and like beautiful views from the top, this will make the trip for you.

The layout of the villas is very conducive to spend lazy days there, with a lounging area, a great dining table, a small pool, as well as the possibility of opening up the glass windows and essentially turn the bedroom area into one space with the outdoors.

As much as the villas are stunning, on the contrary the communal areas of the property are underwhelming. When we visited only one restaurant area was operational (with the excuse that the one closer to the water was not usable due to splashing waves... except it remained very dry on every night). The one bar was very sad looking (probably due to the fact that the nearby restaurant area was closed) and often left unmanned. Overall the finishes are a little cheap looking and certainly not on par with top end resorts (chipped wood, old decking not particularly well maintained, a bit of an ancient decor, ...).

Food was just not good enough. We stayed for almost a week and one restaurant option is insufficient for a private island setup of this kind. Moreover, the quality was mediocre at best. Regular options are fine, but the themed dinners were a disaster (I recall a Mexican night where the quality of the food was worse than a cheap take-away... think nachos with industrial melted cheese). All of this comes at a very, very hefty price tag, which is normal for Seychelles but contributes to the inadequacy of the offering. The wine and beverages costs are also well known to be overpriced in Seychelles, and this resort is no exception, but no surprise there.

Service was also odd, and it showed from the onset. We were assigned a villa that was the opposite of what we had requested. Guest names were spelled wrong on the welcome cards. All minor inconveniences, but what is more evident is that the overall service is two steps below the standards of luxury resorts. Requests to the butler took very long to be acknowledged, breakfast pre-ordered for a certain time showed up at random hours, when sitting by the communal pool or on the loungers facing the beach, not once a member of staff came by offering to take a drinks order (let alone offering refreshments), we always had to hunt someone down either at the bar or restaurant.

I must say that the view from the villas and the location are so stunning that I would be tempted to give it another shot just for that, but no longer than two or three nights.

We are considering getting a drone. Would we be allowed to use it at this resort/on the island?

Sorry cannot answer this question because there is regular helicopter activity therefore I would suggest you contact the resort. Also Fruit bats are constantly in the air mid afternoon so a drone may disturb their habitat.
