Overall camping experience were average , facility and services average.
Unfortunately our wild life experience and quietness were spoiled during the day and evening due to music that was playing from the entertainment at the bar area hosting parties till late at night.
After several request from several campers , asking them to turn the volume down were ignored.
Based on our experience we will not recommend Thabaledi Game Lodge to our friends or other campers for camping.

The ablution facilities are nice and spacious, but need some general maintenance, filling cracks and painting, walk ways needs attention. Some proper cleaning will also help. Staff are very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay. We travel with a Sprite caravan and the dirt road was not in a good condition, did not know we have to travel that far on it, until we got there. Please ignore "rooms" not applicable.

Loved the house it was nice and spacious, clean but there was a lot of ants and spiderweb on the ceiling. The rooms was nice and big, toilets clean, but pls provide for when getting out of the shower and bath. It would also be nice to have a TV that can entertain kids when they are not at the swimming pool are. The wifi was off but it stated that there is free wifi when I booked the place. I liked the fact that our outside area was cleaned in the morning when we woke up. The swimming pool was perfect nice and clean only problem was we wanted to take a night swim but could not cause the maintenance guy said that they already put the chemical. The pool table needs to be fixed and pls if the shop can stock up more things like bread and soup. Pls open restaurant cause ur on holiday and sometimes u don't always feel like u want to cook.but overall the place was perfect nice and quite , weather was lovely, clean grounds. I even recommended it to some of my friends and family. Pls take care of ants cause they were constantly biting me and the kids.

Awesome Chalets very upmarket. Cannot be faulted. When we were there lightning struck the Sub Station and we had no lights or water for a day. Soon rectified by Marnie on site with Eskom. There are mozzies so take spray with you.
Amazing staff and Management. Marie went out of her way to assist us when the water was a problem. The Chalets also have a proper carport as well as an inside and outside Braai with a Fire Pit.
There are 2 pools one hot and on e cold.
It is a great escape to the bush and with all the up market facilities was a real pleasure to visit. There is a small shop with minimum goods. Take you own stuff with you as well as drinking water. The water out the tap can be used for drinking once it is boiled, but I prefer to take my own.

Travelling to the lodge was not smooth especially after travelling for over 30km on a gravel road. It would be wise for the lodge to make note and make travelers aware that there is a long gravel road or possibly provide an alternative route to the lodge.

When we got to there the security guard was not in uniform and looked like he had woken up from sleeping. I believe that the security guards who open the gate become the face of the lodge meaning that we have to see professionalism from the gate.

When we arrived at our Bush Lodge, the unit had a lot of spider webs which for me shows that they did not prepare the unit for guests. There were also a lot of big spiders inside the chalet and that was uncomfortable while travelling with children, i do believe that I had to kill more than 10 spiders during our stay there.

The situation became worse when I checked behind the toilet seat only to find a snake skin. That was very unsettling knowing that there was/is a snake in the chalet which has an opportunity to shred its skin, that for me was another sign that the cleaning staff do not do a good job if guests find a snake skin.

The game ranger was sent the following morning and he discovered that the snake skin looks 3 to 4 months old based on the way it was dry, that again is a shocker that the cleaning staff has not cleaned the premises for over 3 to 4 months.

The last annoying factor was that the lodge takes card services only and has no cash facilities, that is something that should have been mentioned when the booking was confirmed in order to prepare the guests.

I must say that given an opportunity to take a vacation, we would not consider Thabaledi Game Lodge as our destination.

We recently needed a bush holiday for our family visiting us from Cape Town. We arrived and pleasantly surprised at this bush gem at such an affordable price. The area had a electricity problem but Nelia Theart from the office was quick to create a WhatsApp group for guests to keep us updated. We got stuck in the mud with our car and one of the owners, Barney (not a worker or manager but the owner) drove out and came to our rescue.

The triple story chalet is lovely, cosy with everything you need inside it. Just take your own food, drinks and clothes.

The pool area is clean and quite enjoyable.

If my mother-in-law is happy with something, we all are happy. And she was impressed that Barney himself went to the chalets to help with those in need of gas stoves etc.

Well done Nelia and Barney. Julle is tops!

Clean neat well maintained bushveld property.
Staff was really friendly and professional.
A full time maintenance team was visible on site doing constant maintenance watering flowers and grass.
Repairing a damaged fence where a impala got stuck in the previous night. And ensuring that all customers are satisfied without being in our way all the time. We had the previlige to share camp with a down syndrome boy (God's children) who was really friendly and had a decent camera capturing all God's work on digital
memories. We were Blessed thanks to the team who suffered lock down and still wake up early and be excited to meet their new visitors for the forthcoming days. 15/10

Let me start with the directions to the "Lodge". It is located down a horrible gravel road that you travel on for 25+ minutes and the road markings are not very clear for you to find the gravel road. Good luck trying to call the Lodge and getting their help with directions, as they DO NOT answer their phones.
Then we finally made our way there with the help of the local folks directing us and got booked in to our chalet. The chalet appeared clean and smelled fresh upon entering but to my horror there were a multitude of huge spiders to be found all throughout the chalet and spotted 3 in the bed that "Has been cleaned for us" and as a mom traveling with a 9 month old you can only imagine my anxiety over his safety. This was raised with the Management the next morning as we were not notified pre arrival and advised to carry repellent. The response I got from the Manager was "Ignore the spiders they are part of the Deco". I was beyond appalled by this response and drove into town to purchase a repellent the next day.
Day 2 or our stay the water went offt in our chalet in the morning and by night time still had not returned. Management made no effort to assist or even notify us what the issue was. We then went to the Management office in the rain at night to seek clarity and assistance and were met with the most condescending and off putting young manager (the female) who simply stated " Ek kan nie water toor nie" and " If you decide to check out now,we will re-imburse you for 1 days stay",this being 9pm on a cold rainy evening. The facility has No backup water or electricity measures and the attitude from Management really sucks.
To say my stay was horrible would be a real understatement. I would not recommend this place to anyone, unless you are looking to throw money down the drain for free.

Good
The place is surronded with nature and very quite serene. The pool is good and the trails are perfect for morning and afternoon runs.

There was a problem with water but they quickly brought buckets and ensure evryone was comfortable

No water for most of the stay, geyser licked all night when calling office to fix no answer. Showed in cold water through out the stay, Smell in the restaurant when we went for breakfast, had to open windows ourselves. Staff unprofessional to the core. During breakfast coffee was not offered when we asked it too more than an hour because there was no milk and sugar. The only satisfactory thing was the pool anything else was really bad. Management needs hospitality training as well as the who staff.
