I have been going to Moholoholo Ya Mati since 2001 and i have never been disappointed. This is the most peaceful place in the most beautiful setting. We try to always stay at River Chalet so that we can sit on the deck overlooking the river. The staff are exceptional and very friendly. Marietjie, the Manager has always gone the extra mile for us and makes you feel most welcome. The breakfasts are decent and the facilities are top class. The chalets are big with large bedroms and bathrooms. A true gem
Set in stunning gardens with a great view of the mountains this place definitely makes a good first impression. The staff were all very friendly and helpful making you feel welcome. The room I had was large, clean and comfortably furnished with all the conveniences you would want. Best of all it had a quaint covered balcony from which you could watch the world go by in comfort. The breakfast included in the B&B price was huge and one of the best full English breakfasts I have had in a long time. Will definitely be back.
We spent two nights here while visiting the many beautiful sights in the area. The chalet and the food were fabulous. With two bedrooms and two baths (on separate levels), it allows two couples to have their space while sharing the common area indoors and out. Upon arrival our dinner was waiting in the chalet for us (and it was delicious), and the second evening we grilled steaks in the wonderful deck area. The accommodations and the view both get two thumbs up from me.
Stunning venue. We arrived for a late lunch. Friendly staff but obviously short staffed as they were flustered and service was very slow. Very poor attention to cleanliness of area. Wine was delivered from a storeroom and not a fridge. Good food but slow service - the first two in our party of 7 had almost finished their meal by the time the last two orders were delivered. Absolutely no management in sight or in attendance. This venue is a potential goldmine awaiting management.
We stayed here two nights. It was an 'in between' choice and it was a lovely peaceful place to stay. Our group comprised of 8 people and there were enough rooms for each couple and friends, with 2 share bathrooms. Don't do a running dive on the bed as you'll end up with concussion, they are very hard but surprisingly comfortable. The bathrooms are clean with good water pressure and a decent shower. We ordered food from the in house restaurant which was not included in the cost of the room, but the price was comparable. We had to bring in our own alcohol and mixers. The food was good and a fair supply, with plenty of left overs. There are lovely lawns to walk around, but you must be aware of hippos, though we never saw any. There is WiFi but it is intermittent but really when you are relaxing in such an idyllic spot why would you need it. I'd definitely recommend Ya Mati as a place to stay.…
