Fantastic service and very friendly people. Rooms were always cleaned early morning. Pool was cleaned daily. Kitchen, living area and braai facilities big enough for all visitors in the group of 30. Booking was seamless.

We really enjoy staying and diving with Reefteach. It's a comfortable home from home for us. Simple but comfortable with very welcome air-conditioning and full DSTV. Tranquil surroundings, self catering and braai facilities and close to plenty of good eateries. Diving is super organised with very knowledgeable staff.

We have never been diving before and were apprehensive. Reeteach made the experience wonderful. We felt safe and were looked after very well from a pool session to introduce the diving experience down to the the dive in the sea with a dive master.
The room is basic but neat. Would recommend Reefteach to anyone.

We have been diving with Reefteach for just over 3 years and do about 4 dive trips a year to Sodwana bay.

The reasons we keep going back are many...

Their boats are some of the best in Sodwana bay (well maintained, big and powerful) and are skippered by 2 phenomenal brothers who always ensure your safety is their first priority. They know the ocean and the dive sites like the back of their hand and are super friendly and helpful.

The Dive Masters at Reefteach always go above and beyond to ensure you have the best possible diving experience. They give incredibly thorough briefings with a large focus on educating you on the reef and fish life you will see. Once on the dive they dont just swim along in front of you for 50 minutes and then call the dive. They point out interesting creatures and unique species throughout the dive, are always ready to help, no matter what you need, and, unless it's a super busy weekend, the policy at Reefteach is to dive till just before deco or to 50 bar of pressure - no matter how long that takes 😁

The beach staff are always super helpful and willing to go the extra mile, from helping out kit up to search for a wayward piece of gear.

The breakfast on the beach, served in between dives, if you book it, and you really should, is always met with cheers as happy divers tuck in to the most delicious and fresh breakfast! All divers know there is nothing like a good breakfast after a dive and Corlia and her team never disappoint!

And then there is the owner Brian. When Brian starts to talk, whether to us or someone else, we find ourselves zoning in on his voice. He is a wealth of knowledge about the sea and the creatures it houses. The best part is that he loves to share his knowledge. He is always there to answer questions about something you saw on a dive or to suggest a dive site based on the weather/conditions/ a specific species you are hoping to see. Plus when he can Brain is happy to take divers out on dives to new sites he has discovered. He is also happy for divers to dive 5,7 and 9 mile not just 2 mile like some of the other operators who don't want to pay the extra fuel costs to get to the reefs further away.

On a whole, diving with Reefteach is the whole package - educated, friendly, helpful and incredibly experienced staff and owners who just want to make sure you have the best possible dive trip.
You can't go wrong and it's why we keep going back...

In January, I spent a relaxing, exciting 2-night vacation at Reefteach with my wife, who doesn't dive. We were welcomed hospitably, given a very comfortable room with king-size bed & large tub & shower, & provided with coffee, tea & rusks. We also enjoyed the great 3-course dinners, along with the camaraderie and comparing stories with the other groups staying there. The weather was rainy the first morning but we still had an exciting boat ride and fascinating dive, with lots of great pictures. On dive, we saw huge manta rays, colorful fish & sea slugs & interesting coral. The tarp shelters on the beach with protection from rain/sun worked out well for relaxing between dives & having a place to leave dry clothes, etc. In fact, my wife slept in & I had enough time to go back & get her to return to beach for afternoon.

I spent three nights at Reefteach with my two diving boys as part of a small group who were doing a rebreather course in conjunction with Calypso Dive Adventures Durban. We stayed in a section of the large house that had a few bedrooms off a spacious communal lounge/kitchen. The accommodation was fine for what we were there for, we didn't get to use the very nice kitchen however as we were on a dinner bed breakfast package which was just perfect.

Reefteach have a few communal spaces both indoor and outdoor so they can accommodate a few groups at at time with room for everyone.

While I was doing my rebreather course, my boys were looked after on their dives and then enjoyed Brians' 'underwater naturalist' talks held on two afternoons as part of their Padi certifications. Brian is passionate about Sodwana and the reefs and his dive masters are some of the best I have come across, very professional and knowledgeable.

The set up works really well, breakfast is usually on the beach after the first dive and is SO welcome! Corlia is flexible with the catering to suit the different needs of groups, we spent several hours out at sea to save coming back in between dives one day so toasted sandwiches, scotch eggs and juices were provided. One day of our trip the weather was not with us so we enjoyed a leisurely breakfast undercover on the porch before we started our theory sessions.

Fresh filter coffee and rusks/muffins/banana bread were also provided before heading to the beach for the first dive to tide us over.

The dinners are three generous courses, delicious, and I didn't lose any weight despite all the diving!

Reefteach also have a couple of self catering units with kitchenettes that we stayed in on a previous visit, perfect for two or three people.

I'm looking forward to going back in January for more stunning dives in Sodwana.

As soon as I booked my flight, to return to Africa for 2017, I booked my diving slot with reefteach for the 3rd time. The staff are flexible to which dive sites were visited and varied the diving we did as we did a 5 day dive package! The dive sites are very enjoyable and you never quite know what you may see on each dive! Friendly staff all round and the guides will dive for as long as our bottom time/air permits! (non of this cutting dives short, if other guests are not so good on air, they can surface and the other guests can continue the dive). I have dived protea and aliwal a few times and will return there too in 2017, sodwana offers a different kind of diving, we find it more relaxing, more tropical and the waters are certainly warmer than protea and aliwal shoal. So for sure it is worth trying the diving in Sodwana!

Looking forward to our return and diving with reefteach!

Another recent review knocked reefteach down on the overall rating because of the entrance park fee. I can't quite understand why reefteach would be knocked down as every dive centre in Sodwana has to pay fees to entre and every car entering the park has to pay a fee whether people are diving or not. If you really don't want to pay the full fee and have more than 1 person in the car if you stop about 50 metres before the barrier other guests can walk through for nothing.

It has been the 2nd time I booked with Reef teach for a diving holiday and all worked out perfectly. This year the weather was also great and loads of sightsings of interesting critters.
Well looked after accommodation, good dives and all working perfectly. The rusk in the mornings was great.

We could not manage to get an accommodation here due to the long weekend but Janine put us up at Ogwini Lodge which was awesome. However the accommodation at Reefteach is top notch and I will definitely look to stay here the next time I am in Sodwana.
The diving was so good I still feel like I am in the reef looking to stay a bit longer underwater. The divemasters and instructors were some of the best I have come across and literally made the whole experience magical. I would like to mention Rogan and Theo along with Brian and Janine as having made this a very nice experience. I am definitely going back to Reefteach and probably will stay longer than a weekend.

As an avid scuba diver I'm always looking for greats diving spots so that when an opportunity arises I can go and enjoy a great dive. Along with great diving spots one needs a place to stay and one such place was ReefTeach in Sodwana.

The room was clean, serviced thoroughly, safe and well airconditioned (and you need air conditioning in the summer months on the eastern coast of South Africa). The surroundings were pleasant and the pool offers a cooling respite from the heat and humidity, an awesome braai (barbeque) area and patio in the evenings was put to good use and many a (tall?) diving story was told over cold beers.

Every morming we would take a short leisurely drive to the beach to find our kit ready and waiting for our first dive. (The diving in that part of the word is brilliant too.) The post dive breafkfast food provided (on the beach!) was delicious and the service was awesome.

Reefteach helped me with my equipment when I had an issue with it and when I forgot some of it there kindly kept it safe for me until I could get it back. Thank you Reefteach!
