Red Tin Roof is a manor house that has been sleeping guests, feeding strangers and quenching thirsts for decades. The new owners gave her a complete facelift and donned her in new colours. Known as a bit of a party animal, they enlarged the bar - and added another! They have re-vamped her from head to toe and decorated her with an eclectic mixture of art and collectibles from around the world.

The rooms are beautiful and clean. However, we did not know that we are going to share a lounge and coffee nook with 4 other rooms. A bit embarrassing going out in your Pj's and there are other people. The dogs in the breakfast area was also a bit much.

Such a lovely stay at this place. Almost in the centre of town but the birds in the lovely garden make you feel like you're far from it all. very unique and enjoyable decor and Sam, the host, is fantastic. Would have liked to have been able to stay a couple more nights.

Lovely, inexpensive and very cosy accommodation. Breakfast was unexpected, and a bonus. Red Tin Roof is relatively central, without the noise – and so easy access to shops, restaurants, walks and so on. I'll be back.

The Red Tin Roof. The afternoon of the 1st of October 2022 I arrived later than I have anticipated. Booking a month in advance and settling the account, assisted me tremendously to obtain the room keys hassle free with no paperwork at all. I attended a wedding and only got back to the guesthouse in the early hours of the morning. The outside lighting was pleasing to find the way to my room. It just happened that another couple also arrived at the same time. So we chatted and had some of the complimentary coffee and rusks, which was available in the lounge. I got to bed and must have dosed off listening to the tree branches scratching on the RED TIN ROOF. As it became light outside I took a bath and made use of the complimentary shampoo and body soap, after which I dried myself with the complimentary fresh towels. I enjoyed walking in the big garden taking fotos of the premises with all the favorite hidden away spots. Sitting on the front porch with a cup of coffee I let my mind wonder until the other couples presence brought me back to reality. The three of us moved towards the restaurant where breakfast was served in the garden.(It was an option offered, inside or outside) The Red Tin Roof is definitely a place to meet friends and to hang out. After the couple had left, I was still sitting at the table. Peace and tranquility was surrounding me. I felt sad to leave the place. To extend this feeling that I was experiencing , I decided to take more pictures before handing back my room keys and be on my way back to Bellville. Lost in my own mind and trying to hold on to this feeling of nothing is going to rush me now, I departed from the RED TIN ROOF.

This is a great little stay surrounded by garden art and cozy trees. The service was excellent with easy check in and out. The rooms were clean and we were the only guests so we got the use of the whole guest house. I definitely recommend this stay to anyone traveling to Reibeek-Kasteel.

Everything and everone was very pleasant here, and it is great value. My only dissatisfaction was with the breakfast coffee - I like plunger coffee, but this was watery and poor (both mornings), and warm milk would have helped compensate for the thick, cold cup. Note that the bedrooms leak sound from the central lounge area when this is being used, but that was seldom any problem.

Good price for what you get -- own bed, bath (including shampoo and soap) + breakfast. However, the bathrooms are not very clean and the lighting poor. The gate to the property was also locked when we came back from the wedding and someone in our party had to jump over to let us in.

A welcoming homely well-run establishment. The property and structures are filled with quirky and fascinating themes dominated by positive socialist memorabilia, which bears relevance in the society within which we currently live. Many thanks for a great stay.
