Booked to stay at the Red Tin Roof for our anniversary, 6 weeks ago on the 6th March. Our booking was confirmed. Today, a week before our stay, they cancelled to say they had a wedding on!!! I find this shocking and disgraceful. Would like to let others know to be careful when booking with this establishment.

Dear Rob, As per our telephone conversation, we apologize for this terrible inconvenience. It was an honest mistake on our part and we do accept responsibility. This has never happened before as we take great care of our guests and do our untmost to ensure they have a wonderful experience at Red Tin Roof. I did organize alternative accommodation for...

Personal attention from mthe time the host phoned us that afternoon to check what time we would be arriving and did we have dinner sorted; due to the public holiday we were travelling on everything in this small town was closed except for one restaurant, which came well recommended. The host made a booking on our behalf and wow what...

So-called because of its red tin roof. The guesthouse has 4 en-suite rooms surrounded by a shaded verandah set in a garden of trees and shrubs. Each room has a table and 2 chairs outside as well as a couple of comfy chairs. Quirky decorative chandeliers hang in the trees and the garden is illuminated with fairy lights at night....

Four couples decided to spend 2 nights at the Red Tin Roof. Sam, the owner gave a beautiful 4 bedroom cottage at back of the property, all bedrooms en suite with a central lounge and warp around veranda. Perfect for friends or family. As you walk through the main property, through the bar and courtyard, the path leads to the...

On our arrival we are very warmly welcomed by Evan, the Manager and shown to our very comfortable room. After depositing our suitcases we had a further glass of bubbly with a portion each of samosas which were just out of this world. All home-made. For dinner in the evening I had Hake and salad. I did not want batter...

What a nice surprise. Away from all the city buzz, we had peace and quiet. Extremely hot weather but rooms were cool with aircon and comfortable. Big old fashioned stoep with lazy chairs to relax and forget about time. Pool were green and not in use. But being part of our extreme drought we looked past this and respected the...

Lovely Quirky Guesthouse, we were welcomed with a glass of ice cold Bubbly & warm, friendly service. The pumpkin fritters are so good and not to be missed. Good Breakfast (Yoghurt, Muesli & Fruit salad, followed by your choice of Bacon & Eggs, my daughter had the scrambled eggs with Feta, sprinkled with Biltong powder which she Loved) Red Tin...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Red Tin Roof is a manor house that has been sleeping guests, feeding strangers and quenching thirsts for decades. The new owners gave her a complete facelift and donned her in new colours. Known as a bit of a party animal, they enlarged the bar - and added another! They have re-vamped her from head to toe and decorated her with an eclectic mixture of art and collectibles from around the world. ... more   less
