I luckily only stayed one night. The room was very basic and small with no air-conditioning. The bed and bedding was good. I checked in and got the keys. Went out for the evening and came back around 22:30. The keys I was given did not work on the front door. There was nobody around to help. I had to...

Do not book the cottage! Tiny, dark, dirty and needs a serious upgrade. No water pressure in the shower and extremely dirty. We asked to move the day after and this room was only a little better. A lot more light but still needed a lot of work! The wall heater was broken and leaning up against the wall. The...

We chose this guest house from the Internet, judging its suitability largely on the basis of its photo gallery. The photographs appear to date from 2005, when the guesthouse opened. The French Provencal decor of the time has disintegrated. Lounge furniture has been re-upholstered in unmatched fabrics that are in serious need of a thorough cleaning. Curtains that were pristine...

We stayed at this quaint B & B for 3 nights, and what a gem! We were fortunate that we had gorgeous weather, as we ended up spending a Sunday afternoon around the pool area, with great local wine. Breakfast at Café Felix was a treat, and you won't find staff anywhere who is more helpful (and friendly) than the...

The name of this "establishment" is a far as you can get from a "Manor" ! What a misleading name ! We live some 2-3 hours from Riebeek Kasteel and regularly visit this quaint small town in the Boland and always enjoy the time spent there. Recently we decided to stay overnight and booked two rooms at Old Oak Manor...

We were in Riebeek Kasteel for a wedding and this place was booked for us. It was 37.5 degrees C when we arrived. No off street parking, no reception area (checked in at the cafe next door). The rooms were charming and a bit rustic but high bed, fresh linen, comfy pillows - looking good. It hit 40 degrees which...

The bedding was clean and fresh, and insanely comfortable! The toilet had a little trouble flushing, but otherwise everything was perfect. The room was lovely and the staff friendly. What more do you want?

Stayed here this weekend. Lovely big en suite room at the back of the guesthouse. Patio leading to pool area and very quiet tranquil surrounding. Sheltered from street. Big bed and communal livingroom area. Pros are space and silence. Cons are bad lighting and no privacy to the bathroom area. House a bit worn/rustic so not for the predantic/minimalist. Breakfast...

I wanted to treat my boyfriend to a night away for his birthday, I came across Old Oak Manor, the gallery etc on the website looked great, but don't be fooled. We arrived on the 2nd of October to check in, there was not one person around and no reception area, so I called the booking number and the manageress...

were staying here as attending a wedding nearby. of course it is not a five star hotel, but you also don't pay for a five star. staff was very friendly and the food in the café felix was great. indeed it would need a little fresh paint, what i think does not cost much. take one of the rooms with...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A captivating Cape Dutch homestead where laid-back calm is the order of the day. Traditional French country design is everywhere with each room as original as the next. There's not a hint of don't-touch-me fussiness here or even at our highly acclaimed restaurant, Café Felix, where dining under giant oak trees or by the log fire on chilly nights, the smiles of the staff and the excellent fare, will make you feel truly at home. ... more   less
