The hotel has old fashioned charm. A highlight is the happy hour where you can sit on the verandah and be served a delicious large gin and tonic. We stayed in the new suites which are fabulous. Breakfasts were not the normal buffet type but essentially two courses. I recommend the french toast with grilled banana, crispy bacon and brie...

We stayed over for two nights at this gem. The food and service was excellent. We booked into one of their new King Suites, which we found beautifull, but totally over priced if you compare to other accommodations at the same price. The hotel amenities were average and the fire place in the room could not be used. Limited stock...

The Royal Hotel, as you can see in my reviews, is my favorite in this wonderful Riebeek Kasteel. Did I ever mention how much there is to see and do and enjoy here. It could be with the wineries, olives, shops, hikes and good restaurants a destination on its own. Since April this year the hotel has a modern addition:...

Such a great place in a quaint town. Simple but great food with fantastic decor! Would of loved to have stayed over but it was fully booked. Can highly recommend this for short stay out of Cape Town..

The food and accommodation is stunning. We encountered a medical emergency and the staff and the doctor that came to our hotel room are excellent. To sit on that stoep and relax with a view of the town.

We were pleasantly surprised and pleased with our stay at The Royal Hotel. The proper colonial veranda is a great place to start and have drinks. After checking in, we went to the very modern and super clean rooms. Bed was really comfortable and the large bathroom was fantastic. The air conditioning is also powerful. Definitely have dinner here because...

Although I have heard a lot about this hotel, we stopped over for lunch. Food was ok but not the best. The hotel rates are very high per night at R2500 for two adults and a child is pushing it a bit. One has nothing to do all day. But the hotel itself is a real gem

Beautiful old hotel that appears to have had a recent revamp. The front verandah is reminiscent of times gone by, seated in comfy colonial splendour. Their staff are what all establishments aspire to employ, people that really take pride in their jobs and go above and beyond. Lovely situation, beautiful accommodation and fabulous food. Highly recommended

We stayed here for 1 night and were very impressed with this little country hotel. On arrival we were told that we were welcome to carrot cake and tea on the stoep (terrace) at no charge and at 4.30 there was a 2 for 1 special on gins and tonic - all excellent Our room was across the gardens and...
