we have eaten here often, but never stayed. Our room was lovely [shower was a bit precarious]. Nice view. We had a superb dinner, and an equally superb breakfast, with a wonderful view over the hillside. We sat by the freezing pool on pleasant loungers, lots of good places to sit. Path to pool needed sandals to walk on, and I wished I had had my towelling bathrobe. A glorious site, very pleasant staff who we have known for years. Will definitely stay here again
Firstly, the location of this hotel is superb. You're right at the foot of the dentelles de Montmirail, which are beautiful. The hotel is elegant, nestled into the hillside with a stunning terrace shaded by plane trees in the summer, can't wait to come back and try it out. Above all however, is the hospitality of Thierry and Dominique Bernard. We felt valued and special, and they made every effort to make our stay special. Supper- we arrived late and had a cold plate of charcuterie and cheese which was delicious, with some excellent Gigondas. Breakfast- artisan orange juice, croissants, today, hot drinks, colour, yoghurt. Excellent value and a very special stay. We'll be back!
Les Florets among the handful of the very best family-run hotels and restaurants we have ever visited, during decades of travel to many countries. It would be appropriate to rave about the setting, with a gorgeous patio/plaza outdoors, with views of the sharp Dentelles looming overhead, and beautiful planters, vines shading a sitting area, and more. But the physical space, as wonderful as it is, is merely a reflection of the uncompromising, attentive, caring service within. During a multiway walking trip through northern Provence, Gigondas was our final stopping place. We had a completely lovely, beautifully appointed, modern, comfortable guest room. And in the evening, we ate at the simply marvelous, superb, etc. dining room, where the standard of care is of the very highest. During our unhurried, relaxing meal, we were served, first, beautifully cured black and green olives, with cheese puffs, and then an amuse bouche of shrimp in a delicious tomato-y dressing. My wife and I both had delicious, innovative zucchini gazpacho for a starter, accompanied by a small red pepper stuffed with goat cheese and almonds: beautiful and brilliant. As a main course, my wife had delicious mushroom gnocchi, while I marveled at a thick slice of cod steak with a flight of crunchy roasted white and yellow cauliflower and almonds. For dessert, she had one of the best chocolate mousses ever, and I had a warm plum pastry with vanilla ice cream that I shall never forget. The three-course meal is 44 euros, a steal for the quality of the food and service. (I wish we had had capacity for the cheese cart before dessert, but it was beyond us, even with a vigorous week of hiking. )Atop that, we had drinks (including a rich, lush kir), and a modestly priced, excellent bottle of wine from the staggering (and very fairly priced) wine list. We recommend the hotel and dining service (complemented by a lavish breakfast buffet, including copious cheeses and cured meats) as highly as we possibly could. GO!…
We love the location of Hotel Les Florets and stayed here before on a long distance hike. That time, the dining was vastly better than this trip (we thought it overly pricey and lacking in quality, and even though we opted for the menu which included coffee and tea, we were charged 16 euros for coffee and tea). Last time, we also walked to town to dine, but, since the restaurant in town now has a Michelin star reservations were not possible...also, it was way too formal for enjoyment (we spent one night at another restaurant which was delightful, The Knife and Fork). The rooms are okay, nothing special.
Just had another lovely stay at this wonderfully located small hotel located just beneath the Dentelles de Montmirail in Gigondas. The hotel is comfortable and clean, the terrace has magnificent views and the setting very tranquil. The restaurant serves fine dining with an impressive, extensive, reasonably priced wine list. Customer service is friendly under the expert guidance of the owner, Thierry, and his wife. Yet again we Really enjoyed our stay .... we will return soon
