Considering this is a 4 star hotel with 4 star prices we were rather disappointed.Admittedly we were there during the "covid crisis" but we didn't feel the service was up to standard. There is no minibar in the room and between 5 and 8 pm there was nobodt available to ask for help. Our room was OK but as I said we expected a minibar or at least somewhere we could get an ice bucket. The best part of the stay was the evening meal which was served by Mohamed who was undoubtedly the best of the staff. The food was good and plentiful . There is a large free public carpark just a 3 minute walk away.
Firstly, it was confusing as to which door to go through to access the hotel. Then when you do go through the right door there is no one to book you in. We had to wait quite a while, and it wasn't until we made our way to the restaurant that they sent us back but found someone to check us in who took all of 2 minutes in her desperation to return to the busy restaurant. Therefore marks for hospitality zero. The room was comfy enough, I would even say that the bathroom was too big but the bath was too narrow. There was an extremely meagre selection of one coffee each, take it or leave it. The way the coffee machine is made it saves the used capsules which had not been emptied for a while and there was a large rug on the floor which made it impossible to to close the door or open the wardrobe doors. The building is beautiful and steeped in history but as there was no-one to ask and no literature we will never know. The hotel has a lot going for it but it is the welcome and exit that you remember and these were left wanting. …
Amazing place, heart warming people, the owner is in a 4th generation, puts her soul into this place. And you feel it from the first step you take entering to the last bite of Crema Catalana you enjoy. They also let us make our own pan con tomato!!:) Next time coming back for accommodation and wine experience.
The restaurant has a good selection of tasty local dishes and the most impressive wine list of all local wines I’ve ever seen. They speak almost all Spanish/Catalan but are helpful and friendly .. and Google translate can help you out too. They have menus in Catalan and English, and as s funny twist, the Catalan menu had 8 desserts to chose from, instead of the 4 on the English menu 😜. We chose our desserts from the Catalan menu. A good place to visit if you want to try local food and wine.
Hotel Hostal Sport is conveniently located in the center of Falset and provides comfortable accommodations with a very hospitable staff. If available, be sure to request the top floor room with dual terraces providing views of the mountain range as well as views of town. The attached restaurant is also excellent and I highly recommend the cuisine. Tatiana, Jacqui and Javi were all very attentive, provided great suggestions around Falset, and made our stay beyond satisfactory. We were very lucky to find this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed every moment.
