I really enjoyed the cottage the quiet and the nature that surrounded it. I would suggest that signs are put up to show where a reception area is, as every new visitor stopped at my cottage to ask where reception was. For people staying longer than a day (like I did) it would also be helpful to leave a Broom and dustpan in the cottage.

Thank you for the advice on the signs. Next time your visit there will be signs up! My sincere apologies about the missing broom and dust plan. There is supposed to be one in each of the cottages so I am not sure what happened. I will check with housekeeping. We have emptied the cottages of all "unnecessary" items as part of our COVID-19 protocols and maybe the broom got stored in the processes. Kind regards. Vannessa

This was our 4th trip to Hogsback. Ian, the host, was very welcoming, helpful and generous with his knowledge. He also makes incredibly delicious sweet and savoury preserves, and makes Amathole essential oils. We loved the location on a 17 acre piece of property with many friendly dogs for our dog to run around and play with. We almost took one of their dogs, Sasha Lee, home with us!(Just kidding, but not really) It is also close to some great Hogsback attractions. There was also a large vegetable garden that Ian humbly offered for us to help ourselves to some. We had an absolute fantastic time, we will definitely be back!

Had a lovely stay at Jaya's. Beds and linen was exceptional. The flat was very nice with everything we needed, Wifi a bit unstable for those who need to work, The roads all around Hogsback is a nightmare. We were close to a hotel, which was extremely convenient when we did not want to self-cater. Lovely host. The flat had a little stove with wood supplied to keep it nice and warm without the fear of open fire.

The feeling of being one with nature is definitely felt in this little log cabin. With excellent views, enough warmth from a fireplace and blankets, we were there for two nights within the cold and misty rain. It’s actually a wonderful little secret. I hope that we will be able to return one day. The only comment I would like to make is maybe at an extra charge, to give people the option of a heater, for those times when you want to use the bathroom or shower.

We visited as a family and the stay was very nice. We could take walks on the property and kids were able to ride bike as well. Clean and tidy with friendly staff that came in to provide fresh towels and linen. We enjoyd the stay very much.

This was our second stay in the main house. There is relative privacy from the other cottages, even though they are in close proximity. The property allows for safe play and exploration for children and is within walking distance of The Edge and other attractions. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly.

We visited the place with my friends and we enjoyed it. The stay was quite great and Hogsback is a great environment and beautiful holiday destination. The hosts were very welcoming and gentle. The dogs were very friendly and they were entertaining. It would be nice to have a landline to communicate with the owners because the reception is bad.

Dear Mzukisi - Many thanks for your review. Landlines don't really function very well in Hogsback - most of the time these are down. We will have to think of creative way to allow guest to contact us when the cell phone reception is bad - perhaps some kind of internal phone system that links all the cottages to us? I will work on it.

This place was very well located and Ian the host was super accommodating to all
our requests. Lovely bedding and electric blankets which are a must in winter. The local resident, Sasha, the retriever loves a cooked breakfast!😀

Fantastic accommodation. Ian is incredibly hospitable, but also extremely efficient. He gave us a tour on the farm, the work he does there is truly inspirational!
We are planning on going back. The price is worth what you get and lots of space for the kids to play and have fun.
