Looked for a dog friendly place with an enclosed garden. Well we received that and so much more! On arrival fresh homemade cakes, milk and eggs awaited plus some doggie treats for my dog. The cottage is spacious, warm, clean and full of everything you could possibly need. Beds were comfy and towels soft. Every cupboard provided something extra from children’s bath toys to numerous books and dvd’s. Lovely spa under twinkling lights surrounded by a lockable fence to keep little children and dogs out. If you are taking a dog you couldn’t ask for more! Treats on arrival, doggie towel, blanket and vowels await. There are hose pipes all around for muddy paws and shoes and the best thing ever an enclosed paddock which the owner kindly let us use. Full of dog items to play with, water hoses, an umbrella for human use and even a greatly disguised human toilet to use. It’s surrounded by horses, goats, chickens and an enormous pig! Just wonderful!

We stayed in the three bedroom cottage with our own hot tub, brilliant. The owner, Liza was extremely helpful, and left us flowers, milk, brownies, fresh eggs and dog treats. The cottage was very well equipped, clean, quaint and cosy. Even our dogs were catered for with water bowl, clean towels and throw. I would thoroughly recommend it.

We only stayed at the Old Farm for one night, and as we booked late only the twin room was available. However, this was no problem as the room was beautifully decorated, comfortable and cosy - especially the bed which I had trouble getting out of in the morning! When we arrived the cleaner was preparing the other two rooms (one being four poster) and i managed to have a quick look and saw that both were equally as impressive.

We spent the day walking up May Hill and visiting the local pubs. We ate that evening in the Farmer's Boy which I would certainly recommend, especially the salmon fishcakes which were probably the best I have ever had! The next morning the breakfast in the Old Farm had a wonderful selection available, was really nice and freshly cooked (especially the eggs straight from the hens at the farm!).

I would recommend the Old Farm to anyone looking for a lovely weekend or night away - we only stayed for one night and I only wish we could have stayed longer and had the chance to explore more. I would love to stay again but would book earlier so we could get the four poster bed.

We arrived at the Old Farm in a torrential downpour, having had a difficult journey from Liverpool, however the welcome we received from Lucy Rodger could not have been warmer. We were shown to our room, complete with four poster bed, and then were given tea and home made cake in the guests lounge. It was lovely, and just what was needed. On Lucy's recommendation we had supper at the local pub, the Farmer's Boy, which had a great atmosphere. I would heartily recommend The Old Farm for comfort, great breakfasts and good value. Lucy's web address is (---), her email is (---)

It was a pleasant and clean cottage that was comfortable for five. The lounge furniture needs updated because it is old and uncomfortable. There were problems with the heating, hot water and the Wi-Fi was bad.

We stayed at the holiday cottage for one week with our three dogs it was a lovely cottage very clean and the owners were friendly and helpful. The area was very nice lovely walks right by the cottage and also the village was a nice stroll away with a good shop. We tried both of the pubs for meals and they were very nice.

The most beautiful cottage, quietly but very conveniently placed. Lisa, Matt (owners) and Dotty (the dog!) were lovely and so so helpful. We will definately be back for a longer stay next time:)

These self-catering cottages are about as good as you could wish for. We have stayed numerous times over the past few years, both with the old owners and the new owners (who are a very friendly family). The two self catering cottages (adjoining) are both to a very high standard. As well as all the usual things you expect in good self-catering accomodation, both have a whirlpool 'spa' bath, and the bigger of the two also has a steam-shower. The cottages have their own small garden area each, but there is also access to the owner's large garden, which has a huge variety of play equipment for kids.

Really good houses, in a great area. We haven't been yet this year, but we'll certainly be back soon.
