We have just returned from a week at Elm Lodge, one of the three lodges on the site. The lodge is comfortable and extremely clean the furnishings are of high quality and well maintained. the bedrooms are comfortable and have walk in wardrobes which makes it easy to store clothes and suitcases. It is quiet but close enough to the pub to get some very very fine food.

What could be better, a few more cups, cutlery and beer glasses, as you can see this is very Minor. Alison, the owner was very welcoming and a great hostess.

Following a mix up over dates the owner did all she could to accommodate us and consequently we have had a perfect mid week break in Elm Lodge. The lodges are e well equipped and very comfortable. The setting is perfect, so quiet but quite near A40 so easy to get around. We cannot fault anything and will definitely return.

Overpriced for what was mediocre food. The place was clean and tidy but the service was poor. The lady in charge was not very welcoming. We were expecting more and hadn’t realised it was part of a chain of pubs.

We booked for three nights but only stayed two due the cutting of corners with cheap bedding, pillows that were so flat we needed three. Only one toilet roll in each bathroom no extras, no dvds no information about any of the things like fire, tele or kichen equipment. very cheaply kitted out just seem interested in charging top money but not suppling a good experience. Pub next door has a menu you can only eat in the garden ???? another menu you can eat in the pub is much dearer again money grabbing never again

Great food, exceptional service and owners who take an interest in the people who attend. I would like to thank Jill and Steven for being such great people, we arrived as strangers and left as friends. Their lodges one minutes walk from the pub are superb, modern, functional, spotlessly clean, highly recommended.

Stayed with friends at one of the three lodges owned by the pub and located approx. 1 minute walk away behind the pub in a great setting and very well landscaped. Ate at the pub for the two nights we stayed. Would have loved to have stayed longer so will have to make a return trip.
The pub is a real traditional country inn with lots of character. The hosts and staff are very friendly and very attentive. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. Two well kept real ales straight out of the barrel. Heaven!
The timber lodge accommodation to the rear was very well maintained with a spacious open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area.
Will definitely return again and would highly recommend the pub and the accommodation. The only thing to note is no under 14s in the pub or the accommodation which may not suit some.

My family I were lucky enough to be staying just behind this great pub as they have three holiday lodges for rental. The lodges were superb but to be a few steps awy form a warm and inviting country inn with great staff and mazing home cooked food was an added bonus. We ate there on two occasions for diner and wanted more each time, the lasagne, home made of course was a delight as was the bely of Pork, all hot and delicious. The owner, Stephen Pugh, was inviting and friendly, nothing was too much trouble and we will be back, thats a fact.

Made to feel like second class citizens with the very rude landlord making a direct jibe at cyclists. There are many cycling groups in Gloucester and surrounds with most individuals,if not all, having cars and many with family and friends. I as a cyclist with a car and a family with friends will not be visiting again.
