Loved this boutique hotel, location and views were epic. Felt incredibly looked after, tea and cake in the afternoon was a great little inclusion which we all loved. Staff always greeted us on our return from any activity and went above and beyond to look after us - even adding hot water bottles to our beds during turn-down service (winter in SA when we stayed). Wonderful start to the holiday, can't recommend enough. Staff were wonderful, smiley, helpful and kind - everything you need

The hotel is in a suburban setting a few streets back from the ocean front at Seapoint. It has a lovely tiered garden with two pools and plenty of loungers/beds. We were very warmly welcomed by Gift and other members of the team, who made our stay so pleasant and relaxing. Our room was large, light & airy and stylishly furnished, and overlooked the road below and the ocean behind several buildings. Breakfasts were very good with a fulsome buffet and cooked dishes made to order. The team were always on hand to help with questions, and they made our stay extra special.

We arrived in a rental car and had a parking space right in the courtyard of the magical boutique hotel. It impresses with its bright colors, modern furnishings and art in a building steeped in history. As soon as we enter, we are given a very warm welcome by "Gift". Gift is truly a gift and helps wherever he can. Since there is no elevator in the building, there are 2 rooms on the ground floor for guests with limited mobility. The beautifully designed breakfast room with a delicious buffet is also on the ground floor. I have never been asked whether I would like the egg dish (served) medium or soft. Here it is a matter of course and very good!
I recommend this hotel.

We had a lovely stay at the Clarendon. We arrived late, around 23:00 o’clock but that was no problem at all and we were welcomed very nicely. The room was very clean had great airconditioning and a lovely view on the pool! The staff is very friendly as well and also very helpful. They have a great laundry service and even after our stay they watched our luggage for 2 days because we couldn’t take it with us to our next location. Great service I would say! Would definitely recommend as you can read :)

My wife and my 9-year-old son spent 3 days at this beautiful property. Located in a quiet and modern residential area of Cape Town a few minutes drive from the city center is a true haven of peace. The property is very nice , refined with a modern style. Our room was very large and equipped with all comforts. The aspect that most impressed us is the kindness and helpfulness of the staff. Always ready to satisfy our every need often even to anticipate it but with extreme discretion. The well-kept garden has a beautiful view of the mountain of Lion Head and allows you to enjoy moments of extreme relaxation.
We will keep a wonderful memory of this stay.

Our family four day visit in January 2025 to the Clarendon was exceptionally good. The two spacious rooms we occupied were very comfortable, super clean and well equipped. The staff did everything to make our stay a memorable one and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were superb with beautifully presented continental choices followed by high quality cooked offerings.
The two swimming pools and surrounding gardens were attractive and well manicured. The location is great with the sea front being only a 10 minute stroll away and Cape Town waterfront being a short and inexpensive Uber taxi ride away.
In short all of our group would highly recommend this hotel and would have no hesitation in returning to the Clarendon when we next visit Cape Town.

We stayed at The Clarendon Fresnay for three nights and can highly recommend this hotel. The friendliness of the staff (Gift deserves special mention here) is above average. They were helpful with restaurant reservations, organizing a guide for the Cape Peninsula or various excursion tips. Everything was very well maintained. We particularly liked the beautiful garden with pool. Because of our early flight back, a packed lunch was also prepared for us. Thank you for the lovely stay!

In 1 word; FANTASTIC!!
We have been to many places in the world but nowhere have we received such a friendly welcome and treatment during the entire stay. The hotel is beautiful, rooms are beautiful, spacious, clean and very nicely decorated. Breakfast is delicious and the staff is incredibly friendly, helpful and pleasant. Lots of laughs made this stay unforgettable! The location is in a very nice, safe neighborhood, a 5-minute walk from the nicest street in Seapoint with many restaurants, shops and supermarkets. The beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay are close by and from the hotel you have a beautiful view of the sea. Books!!

The Clarendon Fresnaye is a wonderfully splendid hotel located in a very safe part of Cape Town. We‘ve just spent 3 nights there and everything was just perfect. Our room was spacious and impeccably clean with a nice view in the garden. The beds are really big with a good quality of mattresses which is very important for us. After a restful sleep we enjoyed the fabulous breakfast that offered a wide range of opportunities for every taste.
The staff is very friendly and motivated to make a stay as comfortable as possible.
Overall I want to mention and give a big thank you to the manager Gift who was always available and took care of our questions and needs in a very, very competent and friendly manner. He knows everything about anything, so we felt really well kept up during our stay!
Thank you so much Gift for being there for us!
So when you go to Cape Town the Clarendon Fresnaye is a wonderful hotel to stay that we highly recommend to go there!

Very Good location. Rooms were well sized and bed was comfortable. The staff were exceptional - very friendly and nothing was a problem for them. Shout out to Gift, Daud, Mavuto and Brian. They had a great afternoon tea which we would have loved to participate in, but we were always out exploring! The only tip is if you want to eat a full meal in their restaurant, you need to book in before 10am that day.

Hi Kim There is the hop on hop off city site seeing bus. We also use Unicab or Uber. Another option is hiring a bicycle or walking, it take me 90 mins along the beautiful promenade. Thanks Emmy
