The Walden Suites in Fresnaye is probably one of the best boutique guest houses in Cape Town. It is located within a lovely residential road in Fresnaye within a 20 minute walk of bustling Seapoint with its great shops and restaurants. On arrival we were met by the lovely and vivacious Melanie, one of the owners along with the very helpful and multi tasking Shadreck. All the rooms a spotlessly clean, spacious and very well presented including fresh flowers, there own branded shower gel, soap and room spray. The swimming pool area has views towards the sea and Robben Island. Their is a great breakfast with plenty of choice including bacon and eggs, fresh fruit and lovely bread and croissants. I could go on and on how good The Walden is but the best thing to do is come and experience it yourself, you won't be disappointed, we certainly will be back for another visit.

I definitely recommend this place to anyone who has up to 100 USD daily accommodation budget. The Walden Suites offers amazing suites both for budget and luxury traveller. We have stayed in larger room with Ocean and City view and liked everything a lot, especially the breakfast and atmosphere. The property is in-between the Cape Town City Center, Sea Point and Camps Bay triangle, so you can easily navigate anywhere within 3 km range by walking. The only setback was that during our stay we have experienced lack of electricity which was a huge problem in the whole country.

Hello Baku, thank you for the amazing review!!! We enjoyed having you stay with us and look forward to welcoming you back again. Yes sad that we have electricity cuts in S.A. but we manage to do an amazing breakfast with gas.

We were so lucky to be able to spend five nights in the Walden Suites at the beginning of September. The two suites we booked were luxurious, the whole house and property (great pool) is tastefully decorated. Melanie is a great host who gave us restaurant tips. She is a great conversation partner. You can see the Lion's Head directly from the breakfast room. The Walden Suites are a perfect starting point for exploring Cape Town.

Our 4 nights stay in December 2022 was a wonderful experience. The guest house from 1926 is very big, as wonderful rooms/suites, a large pool, which was warm enough in December. We really appreciated the kind support and conversations with the managers Melanie and Wayne. Wayne always had great recommendations for dinner and also did the reservation in the restaurant. We had great breakfast every day with freshly cooked egg dishes, granola, fresh fruit ..... Will definitely come back.

an absolute dream, the guest house is very child-friendly, my two children felt at home and the host Melanie did everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible. I can recommend the guest house to anyone who is looking for something special. This will definitely always be our first choice when we are in Cape Town, we are already looking forward to our next stay.

We loved our stay at The Walden Suites and would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation. The pool and breakfast were highlights! Staying here was much more personal than a large hotel and after a week we felt like part of The Walden Suites family.

All around - a soothing oasis :-) Everyone who looks after the guests in this house is calm, extremely friendly and makes the guests feel welcome! We particularly appreciated the atmosphere of the open house and Melanie is a great host.

Great hotel! Great location, 10 minutes from Main Road, and 30 minutes walk from the beaches, the walk and very appreciable by the sea with a very beautiful sunset. Very good breakfast. Clean room No air conditioning and wifi connection capricious enough but it was a very nice experience I will come back!

On the Sea Point side of Cape Town with a fairly stiff ten minute walk up from the ocean is this wonderful villa. The rooms are spectacular, large and with large and comfortable beds. The pool was welcome and the views from the upper floor or from the pool deck are spectacular. The kitchen is available at all times with snacks, fruit, coffee , tea and an honour bar (fridge with cold drinks) The breakfast area is lovely and the staff were all very helpful. The hospitality intern from Germany is enthusiastic and Theo always very helpful. Laundry service available and advice on restaurants and tours welcome. Thank you, all of you for a lovely stay.

The only regret I have is that we only booked into the Walden Suites for 2 nights. Melanie was amazing, supporting us with flexibility, warmth and perfect hospitality. The beds were comfortable, the pool refreshing, the breakfast delicious and great tips for how to feel at home in Sea Point. It was a very relaxing stay for my partner and I. Only challenge was the construction work waking us up earlier than we would have liked on holiday. Some plant-based milk (oat / almond whatever) at breakfast would also be appreciated by those with similar dietry requirements.
