Angsana Laguna Phuket is celebrated for its relaxing ambiance and a plethora of amenities that promise a luxurious stay, including a spa, dining options, and beach access. Guests commend the attentive service, beautiful decor, and the hotel's prime location near the beach and town, despite occasional mosquito encounters by the lakeside. While the cleanliness is often lauded, with well-maintained rooms and grounds, some travelers find the hotel's pricing steep, noting the cost of food and services doesn't always equate to value. Room experiences vary, with guests enjoying the views but sometimes criticizing the noise and dated decor.

I spent a long time choosing a hotel, decided to stay with my family at Angsana Laguna Phuket, and did not regret it.
I'll start with the disadvantages, they are everywhere:
Slow Wi-Fi (in general, mobile Internet is slow), hot water supply in the room is rather weak, bathing children after the sea was a little difficult, breakfast: on the 4-5th day you already want something else, although there is enough choice.
Pros:
An incredibly large, beautiful and clean area, very well maintained everywhere. Service: starting from check-in, they do everything possible for your convenience, greet you with a welcome drink, cold towels and sweets. The staff is very attentive and the service is excellent! We arrived around noon and were given an early check-in for free, although according to the rules it is at 15:00. Cleaning is done daily, it’s clean, they put complimentary water in the glass, the rooms smell delicious and have everything you need. Comfortable beds, pillows, a crib was provided. The breakfasts are delicious, you can have breakfast overlooking the lagoon, the view is divine.
Also, everyone in the restaurant is very attentive: my daughter wanted pancakes, which were gone, and the chef, seeing this, brought us freshly baked ones in 3 minutes. Despite the lagoon, there were practically no mosquitoes; there are fumigators in the rooms. The beach is very clean, there are several pools, we liked the Xana Beach Club. There are electric cars inside the hotel that will take you to your destination if you ask. There are boats plying along the lagoon that will take you for free to the nearest village, where there is a pharmacy, supermarket and shops, and there are also shuttles. The nearest area of Porto De Phuket is 200 baht by taxi, there are a variety of restaurants with very tasty Russian, Italian and other cuisines. If you walk along the beach to the west, there are a lot of restaurants: Beach Pig, Golden Fish, Wave with very tasty food and shakes and views.
Overall, the hotel is rated 5, I will recommend it to friends and will definitely come back here again!

We came here in 1996 for the first time, when the hotel was part of an American chain. It was our first trip to Thailand and we really fell in love with this country, probably also thanks to this Resort…
We found there what we loved so much…
The welcome was cordial and we were allocated our room almost immediately, even though it was early in the morning, which is important when you have flown 11 hours to get there. The room is large and very well equipped. The bedding is really very comfortable and clean.
There is a good choice of restaurants and good food everywhere. However, there is not a lot of choice in terms of fish and seafood (just salmon and fish & chips...). The staff is overall very friendly and always ready to help. The breakfast buffet is “gargantuan” and offers everything you could imagine.
But the “Must” is the huge swimming pool with its various activities for children, the pool bar, the jacuzzis, the small falls, in short, really a special place that we had already appreciated during our first visit. There is also a place provided for calm and relaxation “Quiet Place” and it is very nice. And what's more, the water is very pleasant because it is not cold.
The beach is also magnificent and the deckchairs are really very comfortable and there are enough for everyone, which is also nice.
I would say that one of the only things that is a little annoying is the reliability of the WiFi outside the room! But, it’s the holidays so… we can do without a cell phone!
In summary, we had a good stay at this hotel and I would happily return…

We have had a very pleasant 10-day stay with our two small kinds in a Laguna Premier room with a nice terrace and beautiful view. Room was spacious and each day perfectly cleaned. Breakfast at the Marketplace was fabulous with a huge variety of choices of local fruits, juices, tea, very good coffee and international and Asian options. A special thanks to June who always welcomed us with a smile and looked out for us providing even with advices regarding moving around in the area.

The hotel has several restaurants inside (all very good, but way too overpriced even compared to Bang Tao Beach), but does not offer a half-pension option which we would have preferred as it is more simple when travelling with kids. In any case you have plenty of dining option in and outside the hotel

All the staff really does his best to make the stay as pleasant as possible - from the cleaning staff to waiters and receptionist all were extremely helpful and polite. A special thanks to Fai who welcomed us at the reception and never missed an opportunity to inquire about our stay whenever we met.

Bang Tao Beach has a long sandy beach, very clean in front of the hotel, however during our stay big waves were quite frequent so it is not particularly suitable for small kids.
Overall, it is not a cheap option for accommodation, but offers a pleasant stay with everything you need.

Dear Andrea K, Thank you for sharing your detailed review. I am delighted to hear that you and your family had a wonderful 10-day holiday in our Laguna Premier Room, enjoying the spacious accommodations, beautiful terrace view, and our attentive housekeeping service. It is fantastic to know that you appreciated the breakfast at the Marketplace with its wide variety of fresh local fruits, juices, and international and Asian options. We are also pleased that our team’s warm hospitality and helpfulness enhanced your experience. We are glad you enjoyed the variety of dining options both within the hotel and in the surrounding area, as well as the convenience of our location near the beautiful Bang Tao Beach. While the natural waves can vary, it is great to hear that you found the beachfront clean and inviting. Your kind words about our team’s dedication mean a lot to us, and we are thrilled to have made your stay as pleasant as possible. We hope to welcome you and your family back for another memorable visit. Sincerely yours, Kanittha Detmak Hotel Manager

I recently stayed at Angsana Laguna Phuket and was appalled by the lack of service and recognition of my Gold Membership with the Accor Group. I had emailed the hotel 10 days in advance requesting an early check-in at 1 PM, a reasonable privilege that comes with Gold membership benefits.
After a sleepless night to reach Phuket, I was simply asking for a 2-hour early check-in—not an unreasonable request like 9 AM. However, Cherry at the reception was shockingly rude, dismissive, and completely unaccommodating. She outright refused to help us and made no effort to offer alternatives. Her attitude was unprofessional and unnecessarily mean.
Moreover, when we were finally informed at 2:30 PM by Mr. Fuse via WhatsApp that our room (2373) was ready, we walked into the room at 3:15 PM—only to find housekeeping staff still cleaning it! This was utterly ridiculous and unacceptable.
What was the point of emailing in advance, being a loyal Gold member, and waiting patiently for the promised time if the room was still not ready upon check-in? The entire experience felt like a slap in the face to loyal customers, and it made me question the value of my membership and the hotel’s commitment to service excellence.
This experience has left a sour taste, and I expected much better from both Angsana Laguna Phuket and the Accor Group

Dear Wander64094219790, Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience at Angsana Laguna Phuket. I sincerely regret the issues you encountered during your stay and the disappointing service you received, especially as a valued Gold member of the Accor Group. Your feedback is incredibly valuable, and I appreciate your openness in bringing these matters to our attention. I am truly sorry that we were unable to accommodate your early check-in request. We always strive to meet the needs of our guests, particularly our loyal members, and clearly, we fell short in this instance. Please accept my sincerest apologies for the unprofessional behavior you encountered at reception. This does not reflect the high standards of service we are committed to providing. I also regret the inconvenience you experienced with your room not being ready at the promised time, especially after a long and tiring journey. This situation is unacceptable, and I want to assure you that we are addressing it with both our housekeeping and front desk teams to prevent any recurrence. While we cannot change your initial experience, please accept our sincere apologies for not meeting your expectations. Rest assured, we will continue to improve both our products and services to exceed our guests’ expectations. We hope to have the opportunity to regain your confidence and look forward to welcoming you back. Wishing you a fabulous 2025! Sincerely yours, Kanittha Detmak Hotel Manager

The hotel is simply terrible, I will never come back here again, the rooms are very old, shabby and reminiscent of a Soviet boarding house, the hotel area is huge, but this is rather a minus, since it is almost difficult to move in the heat, when the heat subsides and gets dark, it is impossible to walk because it is bad It’s lit, there really are two swimming pools, one is very small and crowded with people, since you can’t swim in the sea, the second is shallow with hot water and a lot of children. The beach is huge, but there’s no point in it, it’s impossible to swim in the sea, it’s very shallow and there are a lot of stinging jellyfish, the water is the same as on other beaches in Phkukhket, not clean, there’s still a huge strip of hot sand, the sand heats up and you get the impression that you’re lying on a hot one desert, the prices in the bar are 3 times higher, I didn’t go to restaurants, I also think that the insulation in the rooms is very poor, there is constant noise in the corridor, check-in to the room was announced at 15-00, in fact I arrived exactly at 15-00 and I was told to wait another hour until 16-00 since my room is not ready yet and they are cleaning it, it’s just funny, when I said that I wouldn’t wait an hour, the girl from the reception disappeared and just moved on to other guests waiting for the same ones as me, the hall was full , in general, the people working at the reception are terrible rude people, they have never helped me, they pretend that you are simply not there, this is at such and such a price of the hotel. The breakfasts are varied, but: it seems that you are in a 3* hotel in Turkey, there are people like at a train station, there is a terrible hum and hustle, there is a queue for scrambled eggs, for waffles, there is nowhere to sit, all the tables in the air-conditioned room are occupied, the only thing left to eat is on the street in the heat, while you are going for something, birds fly in and climb into your plate. The location of the hotel is very inconvenient, there is no infrastructure at all, to the nearest supermarket or shops/restaurants you need to take a taxi for about 10-15 minutes, you can’t get there without a car, you walked the entire beach, the same story, in one place further there is a cluster of bars on the beach and massages, terrible dump. The absence of the sea also spoils the impression, red flags hung every day, only Russians swam in the sea, I saw how they were bitten by jellyfish, mostly Russians stayed at the hotel and this already says a lot, I’m very glad that I stayed for only 2 days, No I recommend

We visited the hotel on the recommendation of friends in November 2023, check-in was quick, the room was prepared earlier than the designated time. The hotel area is quite large, green, and the administration keeps it in excellent condition. Partial renovation is underway, this did not interfere with the rest, it is clear that the builders are working quickly and it is about to be completed. The hotel building is not new, but well maintained. The room is spacious, with a balcony overlooking the lake. In the evening it’s quiet, no loud music, you can sit quietly on the balcony) The room has everything you need, a wonderful hairdryer, a brand new iron and ironing board, bathrobes, slippers, etc. Cleaning twice a day, in the morning and after 16-17 hours the room is prepared for the evening, they straighten the bed, place water on the bedside tables, slippers by the bed, etc., which is very nice. On the territory there is a large swimming pool of complex shape, many places with sun loungers in green shady corners, there is a nice sandy artificial beach, and there are also plenty of sun beds by the sea. Entry into the water is smooth and gentle. The beach is long, there is room to walk, the entire coastline is free to walk through. During our stay, the weather was not particularly pleasant, so we were not able to fully enjoy the pool and beach. I liked the breakfast, varied, European, Thai, Indian cuisine, pastries, omelettes. Decent coffee. The hotel has several restaurants, offering Thai, European cuisine, and an American grill restaurant.
The hotel is located, so to speak, in the Laguna ecosystem, a shuttle runs through its territory, in order to use it you can contact the reception. There are also small ferries that float on the lake, delivering you from shore to shore. There is a place for activities on the lake, catamarans, etc., animators work.
In general, the impression was that the hotel was lively, well-kept, perfect for a family and quiet holiday, mostly families with children and couples. I recommend visiting!

Overall 4.5/5;

Great resort with young kids (we went with 1yr and 4yr old). Our Laguna room was good sized with a nice view of laguna/fountain/mountain. It had a big bed which could sleep us very comfortably. Service was excellent - complimentary water, towels, cleaning, baby high chair in room was all promptly arranged. Breakfast buffet was good with friendly staff.

Resort is quite big with a buggy service (5-10 mins wait) available if you wish to use which we found helpful with young kids. There is a complimentary boat or bus shuttle to other resorts and canal village (nearest supermarket and restaurants). Kids enjoyed the boat ride. Big kids play area with nanny service. Private beach access with very good views. Nothing in walking distance but there are some spa (Amla spa) and restaurants (Tawai) which offer a complimentary pickup/drop, otherwise u can take a Bolt/Grab out. Boat avenue nearby has quite a few restaurants and a Friday night mkt. Overall a great stay.

Things to improve - wifi was patchy, bed headboard isn’t comfortable. Laguna at times was a bit smelly so we used the balcony a bit less.

We are staying at the hotel now. Arrived yesterday as a family with toddler and grand parents. Very disappointed with the low standard of service and the appalling state the hotel is in. If we weren’t travelling with toddler and elderly parents, I’d definitely be changing to another hotel.

We ordered a bottle of fresh milk to be placed in the room fridge for our toddler in preparation of bedtime before we went out to dinner. 3 hours later when we got back to the room, there was nothing. Had to call again and end up delaying toddler’s bedtime.

As my parents can’t walk long distances we rely on the good cart/ buggy service. The wait is ages and even though we call in advance, one buggy would come and 3 families would have to fight over it as orders are mixed up/ lost.

The grounds of this hotel is beautiful but what a shame the maintenance of the property is a very poor state. A simply slick of paint would help at many places such as hotel room doors and common areas etc but it seems this is definitely not a priority for the management.

Staff seems clueless, either due to a lack of training or indifference. They forget to ask for deposit at check in, so we suffered the embarrassment of having signed the dinner to charge to the room, but later asked to pay (again) in credit card as we couldn’t charge meals to the room.

We asked for the “Concierge” team to recommend places to see around the area, the staff asked “what is “concierge”? Later we explained what we wanted and she just handed us a plastic folder to look over ourselves.

It is very sad to see a hotel marketing itself as an upscale, 5-star luxury hotel, with the potential and infrastructure to be one; then for guests to arrive and realise that due to poor management it is offering at best a 3 or 4 star mass tourist hotel experience.

We were lucky enough to stay in a 2br pool suite, lagoon view for 9 nights which we booked directly through the hotel via email. The booking process was very professional and responsive and we were offered a good package deal. The oversized apartment was jaw dropping. So much room for our family of 3. Beautiful, clean and new with everything you may need during your stay. The Private infinity pool was immaculate and had great sun coverage for most of the day as well as a lovely view of the lagoon.

The location was lovely, right on the beach, except for our visit in the wet season the beach was closed for swimming. The Laguna complex provides a shuttle bus to all internal hotels, and a lagoon boat to a few spots. It would be good if the shuttle extended into town, at least for drop offs. They have just introduced a shuttle to Patong which was easy to use and affordable.

Unfortunately, a concierge service was non-existent and a bit of a letdown. As first-time guests to Thailand, we were hoping for some advice and guidance on things to do and see, local restaurants to eat at as well as how to get to places. This service just wasn’t available. This was also evident at check in, where we were not informed of the amenities or that we could dine at Bodega for breakfast instead of Market Place as we were staying in the Beachside residence.

We have to give a special mention to 3 staff members that went above and beyond for us during our stay. Ammic at reception, and June in the MarketPlace were both amazing. Ammic was the first to help us with booking tours, making restaurant reservations and accommodating our every need. June made breakfast so enjoyable. Nothing was too difficult, and she was always willing to make us as comfortable as possible. She was fantastic with our young son, always doting on him. Another special mention goes to Rey from housekeeping who was kind enough to leave our son a colouring in book one morning after seeing his pencils on the table.

The restaurants were unfortunately one of the areas that let this resort down. It may be because we travelled in the off season, that minimal restaurant choices were available. The food regrettably lacked variety and flavour. The food and drinks at Pool Side took a long time to come out with our order being cold and soggy by the time we received it. It was also apparent that the hotel uses the off season to train new staff as this was discussed in numerous areas throughout the hotel and may have contributed to our restaurant experience.

Overall, the hotel was probably more suited to returning guests or those that have been to Thailand before and not wanting to go and explore. We had a pleasant stay, loved our apartment but think with a bit of tweaking, this hotel could be taken to the next level.

That first rest when the kids grew up and we didn't age 🤣.
The hotel offers a quiet rest, excellent service, our sea view room is fantastic. No comment!
The sea is clear, in the morning it is transparent to dive, beach sand, not crowded, deckchairs, in short everything is in place 100% of 100% .
The hotel itself (complex) is super! SPA👍
We were going for the quiet and the sea with big beach walks, and it all came together.
Like a romantic😁

Yes, you can swim in the pools and the sea, but not in the lake, and the minibar would not be included
