a beautiful place for a family. staff friendly and very available. the rooms are large and very clean, even twice a day, and the food is perfect and a great choice. There are various excursions such as a gym and a spa. You have clean beach towels in your room every day and if you do not bring them you can always look for them at the pool. for every recommendation this is an island. we have visited it twice before and we are definitely planning to go again.

The staff is extremely friendly and love to hear your feedback to improve your whole experience. Shahid (FOM) gave us his WhatsApp number upon arrival, and we could reach him anytime. He even organized last minute Covid-tests for us.

We had a "Beach Pool Villa" which was much bigger and made us feel cozier than expected as shown on the pictures. Housekeeping was done twice a day and very thoughtfully (Kamal and Akko were very nice).

At the buffet restaurant the food is provided in a huge variety and is really good, mainly continental and indian food, salads, sides, huge dessert buffet. Our waiter, Sina, was the sweetest! Both à la carte restaurants are in comparison surprisingly outstanding and we highly recommend visiting them. Get a special drink from Him in the mexican restaurant! And the employees Wilson and Abhishek in the asian restaurants were the kindest!

The resort is aiming for more sustainability and eco friendliness. For example, no plastic straws, no paper tissues, high quality filtered and bottled water in glass bottles.

We do recommend booking all inclusive!

We stayed at Furaveri for Christmas -9 days. We fully enjoyed the vacation, especially since we managed to get there despite the pandemic, after a failed attempt in the summer.

The island has 2 very strong advantages - it is a beautiful island, with a dense, original vegetation, with beautiful beaches and a reef full of fish and quite accessible in some areas. Secondly, the villas are very spacious, some of them special! We stayed the first days in Dhoni Villa (an unexpected upgrade, thank you!), Then in the Beach villa and the last 2 in the Water Villa. All villas are very spacious, the ones on land have external bathrooms with bathtub, but the bathroom at Dhoni Villa is divine! My Maldivian dream!
I stayed in Villa on Water from the newly built branch, which I warmly recommend. Getting to the villa at lunchtime when it's sunny actually takes your breath away!

Now about some issues: staff need to be better trained, that's clear. We had very good services from Ren, who took care of us from arrival. It would be nice if all employees were like that! The cleaning in the rooms was done late, in all the rooms, so not because of a single room boy. It seems that they were a bit crowded, they only came to Water Villa at 7 pm, after the phone call at the reception!

Another problem is with the covers on the sunbeds. In the first days it rained quite a lot and they were all wet and dirty, so that when it was finally sunny you had nowhere to sit. I went to other islands and there the employees collected them if it rained, then put them dry back. Even those in the baskets hanging on the beach (very beautiful for pictures) were wet and dirty for several days.

An annoying thing was the trip to Manta. After it was postponed once (and we were only notified at 8 when we went to the meeting, I normally should have called the rooms 30 minutes before, so that people wouldn't rush in vain) unfortunately I didn't see any Mantas and the water had very poor visibility). This is understandable, no one can guarantee - but we were initially told that we will go snorkeling, that we will see something very special, many fish, that we go after turtles if we do not find Manta, etc! We were snorkeling for 10 minutes and then they took us back to the hotel. And then collected the full price (110 USD / person) for only 10 minutes of snorkeling (nothing better than the resort).
That was a scam, the problem was not that we didn't find Manta, but that we didn't actually see anything!

And an introduction to snorkeling for all guests is mandatory, many islands do this, people need to be informed where it is safe to snorkel, to have indicate on the map the places of entry / exit from the reef, which are dangerous areas etc. It's a tourist safety issue! There are areas with strong currents on some days and people need to be notified.

In the restaurant the service was good, the food was ok (I liked the grilled fish at lunch and the bread made then in the oven
of Kishan). Still quite a lot of Indian food!

All in all, I think I made a good choice, and with a few improvements Furaveri (generally personal training, management of activities) can become an unbeatable island in its segment!

Poor service and management. Only after asking the staff/reception several times we were helped. Staff had forgotten to spray the room for insects, fill the water container outside to clean your feet before entering, give us our key on arrival and open the safe after use by previous guests. In some cases we waited days before we were helped. The island itself is great with excellent beaches for swimming and snorkeling. The reef is perfect as it’s easy to access and there’s a lot to see. The water sports club is wonderful and their staff very nice and helpful. The rooms are very spacious and nice, however we were given one where the bathroom was missing a garden and had just dirt in place of it. We saw that the other rooms had a lot of plants surrounding the shower in the back of the bathroom with also a clothes line for drying laundry. We didn’t have that either. The island has a lot of mosquitoes so it probably isn’t smoked with insecticide often enough. We couldn’t even sleep for several nights due to being bitten by mosquitoes all night. The food for all-inclusive is average and minibar is not included at all. We have been to Veligandu and Kuredu before and their all-inclusive menu was much better and tastier with a wider choice of food.

The structure is well positioned, but it is difficult to find further advantages.
The rooms are large and well furnished. However, there are several things to improve: the doors are old and damaged by the signs of aging, some windows are not properly sealed and allow rainwater to enter on rainy days.
Some elements of the bathroom are rusted.
The restaurant staff is listless, inexperienced and clumsy, totally inattentive to the customer's needs.
The soft all inclusive does not include drinks at the bar, not even during breakfast, lunch and dinner times.
Breakfast is embarrassing to say the least, the sweets on offer are sprinkled with flies that prevent you from eating them
Fish is cooked infrequently and inadequately by Italian standards.
The only positive note is for the Italian chef Emanuele who prepares the pasta, but who finds himself having to manage an enormous amount of work alone, since all the other foods on offer are not taken into consideration by the Italian clientele.
At the table there are no disposable napkins, but only cloth napkins that are sometimes improperly used by guests for cleaning the nasal orifices.
Very good animation guys Samuele, Osaid and Fara, but unfortunately they don't have many tools available and they are underpowered.
The service on the beach is not covered and neither are the staff who check that butts are not thrown on the sand by uncivilized guests.
The sunbeds on the beach are few for all guests and the umbrellas are mostly in the pool area.
The swimming pool has some missing wooden boards and there is no control by the staff on the behavior of the customers (especially small children).
The beach towels are old, damaged and dirty.
Cleaning is to be improved both outside and in the rooms.
Francorosso Customer Service is very lacking and evasive. The Receptionist of the Furaveri responds late to calls and the staff intervenes at their own (biblical) times.
The diving service is insufficient, the water sports staff discourages you from using the service, taking the customer to sites of no interest with scarce fish fauna and flora.
Furthermore, during the request for information the employees did not wear protective masks, they did not speak Italian (we are in a Francorosso), they did not illustrate the services that had to be requested with continuous questions and partial answers. The catamaran service, despite the course, does not issue any certificate, which suggests that it is not carried out by qualified personnel.
All the extra activities are very expensive.
Value for money nonexistent.
Absolutely not recommended!

Response from Mohamed Hilmy, General Manager at Furaveri Maldives
Responded 21 Nov 2021
Dear Alessiolupini, Warm greetings from Furaveri Maldives! We thank you for the recent stay with us. It is sad that you have responded to us in this way based on the dissatisfaction you had as we were not able to agree and offer what you had demanded here at the resort during your stay. As you would clearly know, we have agreements with Travel Agents and based on that, we sell various packages to Tour operators and this is what the Tour operators are selling to our mutual customers. In your case, since many additional demands were made, unfortunately we had to reject those as these were a little too much and even though we had tried to explain this to you, it was not accepted by you at all. Due to this, as it was highlighted by you even when you were here, we had expected this very sad review. I hope that you can still consider the reasons why were were unable to provide you with the requests that were totally out of the package you had purchased with us. We take constructive criticism very positively and as a tool for our service and product improvement. On teh other hand. But in this case, it is sad that your initial response to us while you were here had made it clear that this feedback would be on the way. I hope that you will be having an enjoyable time in Maldives in the future visits and I request you to double check the package entitlements with the Tour operator prior o purchasing it so that we may avoid such unpleasantness in future. Best regards Mohamed Hilmy General Manager

You can see from photographs that this location is paradise on earth, so this review will concentrate on what truly sets this location apart - the service. Without fail, every member of staff was warm, friendly and helpful and it is this personal touch that made this trip memorable.

We were met by Anastasia who was out concierge for our stay. She added me on Whatsapp and checked in regularly to ensure our experience was perfect. She helped me arrange an anniversary bouquet of flowers for my wife, flown in by seaplane especially for her. Nothing was too much trouble for her, a very warm and welcoming person who truly cared that we had the best holiday possible.

Our son would often ride in the front of the buggies with the drivers who circle the reort. I think this was the highlight of his trip actually. Food and drink staff were always swift and attentive. Room attendants, room service and porters always made a point of saying hello and asking about our day.

I am a photographer and had hoped to see a glimpse of bioluminescent plankton. Unfortunately not enough to capture on camera, but it was there in the rock pools on the south of the island and we paddled in it one night. You'll also see fruit bats, birds, lizards, fish and the resident reef sharks who are fed each evening.

Covid testing on departure was provided at a cost of 90 USD and the result arrived when we checked out. Make sure your name, date of birth and passport number are correct before you give the sample - we had a typo on hours and this required a reprint right before we left. Not a huge deal, it was fixed quickly, but worth checking.

Photography opportunities are in abundant supply - I went out shooting every morning at sunrise and every night at sunset and was not disappointed. When skies were clear, the core of the milky way was clearly visible with the naked eye too.

Good variety of food in the buffet restaurant which had themed nights. Our son who is 4 years old and a fussy eater sometimes struggled to find something plain to eat. The price for a la carte food and drink is quite expensive, as is the case with many Maldivian resort islands, so a full board or all inclusive package is strongly advised.

We stayed in rooms 517 (beach villa with private pool) and 610 (regular beach villa). The rooms are spacious, clean and we were very grateful for the air conditioning. The size and layout did not vary too much between the two.

This is an exceptionally beautiful resort, made even better by the incredible staff. I hope we can visit again one day.

So, I've given this resort 5 stars because it is very, very good, not perfect though. However, 4 stars would have been way too harsh for it's (very minor) shortcomings. We moved from 'beach pool villa' 501 in which the ac wasn't quite sufficient, the pool was around 22/23c and the beach outside has recently disappeared. We moved to villa 516 which was absolutely perfect. Pool temperature was around 29c and the beach outside was also perfect. As a general recommendation beach pool villas 514 to 518 are currently the best.
The all day restaurant was OK - buffets are always a bit of a struggle when you have to cater to a wide variety of tastes for an extended period. The food in the Mexican restaurant was poor, but it provides an absolutely fabulous setting for watching the sunset with a drink in hand. The nearby 'Raiyvila' restaurant is outstanding and also has a great location overlooking the beach in front of the setting sun. No need to book a 'Romantic Dinner' when you have this restaurant with its great Asian inspired a la carte menu. Worth every penny and great service too.
Great house reef, with a huge variety of fish.
We didn't buy the drinks package, we don't drink much anyway. House wine is around $6 (bottle $36), beers $5, Coke etc $4, bottle of water $4.
We had a great time, we would definitely consider going to Furaveri again and would definitely recommend it.

Stayed 7 nights in villa 514, a beach pool villa. The villa was amazing. Clean, comfortable bed, great bathroom, and amazing private garden/pool area.
514 and its near neighbours are very private from the beach, although some others towards the pool are very open to people walking past on the beach. We found 514 a perfect location for us.
That being said, the beach is largely used to walk around the island, and is incredibly quiet. On several walks around the whole island we saw less than 10 people throughout. The island is incredibly quiet. Even the pool area has a chilled out feel around it, with only 20 or so sun beds around its decking. Perfect!

We stayed Premium All Inclusive, which is the only way to go unless you want to pay some serious prices (eg $5 for bottle of water, $6 for can of lager, $15 for cocktail etc). It was easy to follow and the staff were helpful with any queries over any of the ‘premium’ items. The PAI package was great when you were signing $0 bills for $160 worth of cocktails!

The staff were quite superb in honesty. Some very humble but very attentive staff encountered throughout, from Ijaz our host; Rishab and Krishna at the bar, Monir and Hassab in the restaurant; Abi at the Raiyvilla - all had smiles and great service always. Nothing was too much of a bother, and always attended to immediately. Shame to see some Russian guests treat them with such bad manners frequently.
Matteo and Osiad are entertainment in themselves, and do a great job in the evening entertainment.

The Dive centre is fantastic. Staff there are professional, knowledgable and friendly. Completed 4 dives with Shetty on the reef and on a boat trip and is definitely recommended.

We only experienced the Raiyvilla Asian restaurant for our ‘free’ 3 course meal there, and boy what a setting. A grand wooden pavilion on the beach sat amongst the palm trees. The food was great there.

The food at the main restaurant is buffet, but we thoroughly enjoyed it. A different theme night every night with some incredible curries sampled at Indian night our personal favourite. A wide range of salads, pasta and desserts to choose from.

Overall the island is spectacular. A beautifully tendered paradise with a nod towards the traditional as opposed to uber modern. We would love to return again and would recommend to anyone in need to a quiet retreat to kick back and relax. Amazing.

My business thrives on reviews and I know how important it is to make sure they're all great. I hate to be that one guy who leaves a bad review but I feel I have to do it to bring awareness. I had an amazing three country trip booked for my 33rd birthday and was looking so forward to unwind in The Maldives as my last stop before heading home. First time in the Maldives I was so excited for the "All Inclusive" stay at Furaveri. I mean, that's how they have it advertised in ALL the websites I looked and researched before deciding to book the stay there. "All Inclusive" is in big bold title everywhere you look. Oh boy! We landed in Male at 6:30am and immediately met with the Furaveri personnel who checked us in for the SeaPlane and told us we were just waiting for another couple before we took off at 9am. Yea.... the seaplane didn't take off until 10:30am. We finally made it to Furaveri at around 1pm. Half the day gone. But no worries, all I was looking forward to was finally taking my sneakers off after a LONG morning and having a refreshing cocktail in my hand. HAHA, jokes on me, Upon check in we were informed that all though that advertised "All Inclusive" you have to upgrade to that package and our package only included "Wifi & Breakfast". We were told by the reservations manager that they advertise as all inclusive in all websites to attract more customers and keep up with the competition. At this point I knew this was not going to be the greatest closer to my 33rd birthday trip. Give me the wifi and breakfast package because at this point... it took all morning to get to your island and im not going to start looking for another stay. So I have wifi great! Certain parts of the villa I have one bar on the wifi that I have included. I asked one of the staff if he could look into that when he came to bring me ice. He pulled out his phone and showed me that his wifi was working great. Lol, I swear I can't make this up. Next morning looking forward to my breakfast since my amazing package included it. I call to place the order and to my surprise was told that there was a charge for breakfast. What!? So after some additional questioning due to the slight language barrier I understood that the charge was due to me requesting the room service. He told me my breakfast package did not include room service and I could only get breakfast at the restaurant... however, breakfast was already over for the day at the restaurant so I was out of luck. The menu in the room said breakfast was 7am-11am and I called in at 10:38am but he corrected me stating breakfast ended at 10:30am. Why would I even believe anything on a room menu when everything from the start has been false. Silly me! So here I am, hungry, not one cocktail in hand, and counting down till check out because if I could catch a seaplane back to Male right now I would. Furaveri, you have to do better my friend. This is a resort in the Maldives not a little side of the road motel.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left everything was perfect. Our beach villa (611) was very well equipped & presented. Whilst the seaplanes landed on this side of the island we were not disturbed.

The buffet food was varied & high quality - and the snacks from the bar were great. There was a varied selection of drinks available on the premium all inclusive menu.

There were plenty of activities to take part in as well as loads of watersports.

All the staff are dedicated to making your stay as great as possible. Staff would always stop their buggies to offer a lift around the island - and do so with a huge smile.

Some of the staff who looked after us on a more regular basis were:

Mryina (restaurant) always greeted us with a beaming smile and made sure we had everything we needed.

Sidu, Rohit, Appu, Milon and Rakesh (bar) were very attentive, great fun and kept us well supplied with drinks. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

Zahid and Siyad (reception) helped us sort any minor issues we had.

Alim (watersports) took us on a fab jetski tour around the atoll, on which we encountered a huge school of dolphins.

Mateo and Osaid were very welcoming and always had time to check that everyone on the island was having a great time.

Rishwan who guided us through Male airport on our return helped to keep us calm when we had some slight issues with our covid documentation.

We would love to return to Furaveri and would highy recommend it to anybody considering going there.
