Grade 4 road up to Stone Mountain Lodge only suitable for experienced 4x4 drivers with a proper 4x4 vehicle and nerves of steel! Never attempt the road in bad light or at night. There is only 1 shared bathroom which is located outside underneath the house. The mobile reception was great and the house contained everything we needed. The only activity available is hiking but you should be fit for this. If bringing children, be sure to bring board games. The beds were extremely comfortable but the bed in the private room is on the small side for 2 people sharing. All in all a fantastic experience and a view to die for!
We had a divine stay at Kleinrivier! It is such a stunning place to visit if you would like to get into the bush and away from the hustle and bustle. If you are a nature lover, enjoy hiking, birding and just taking in the scenery I highly recommend this place! The only downfall is that the accommodation does not have any locks which I feel is very important being in SA in an isolated area with intermittent signal!
What an amazing place to take the kids. Amazing trails and so much fun. Place is nice and clean and had everything that we need. We loved the indoor fire place as it came in handy with the cold weather
My very first 4x4 experience..,was given an ice cold beer for the journey up the mountain to calm the nerves & excitement! 😁 A hidden gem awaited us ....the most beautiful cottage with attention to detail like I've never seen before.. Everything was like "oh WOW!LOOK AT THIS!..totally (niks gewoond) Nature at its best surrounded us, took lots of of walks in the kloof saw a cave with paintings in ! Was also my first time I've slept with a Zebra... Missing him now. The swimming pool was great after a days hike.. Yes even in winter! 👍 Thank you to the creators for the vision of this incredible destination,a must see. Ursula Eastern Cape
How anyone can rate this experience as average beats me. There is just nothing else like it in the Eastern Cape. The road up to Stone Mountain Cottage is out of this world. Totally alone and stunning views. We walked the newly opened Yellowwood kloof. If you like to stretch your kegs and see amazing trees, this is for you! Very reasonably priced for what you are getting. Awesome birdlife.
