Such a beautiful and amazing place. The poor weather did not allow for much hiking. However, I`d definitely recommend to friends and family. Lara and Juan were extremely kind, helpful and made the stay extremely pleasant.

Tranquil is what we needed and this is what we got. Being one with nature. I have never seen such beautiful rock formation and waterfalls. Although inexperienced hikers we could still get to see them. Wow

A beautiful place tucked away in the mountains, feeling as if you are millions of miles away but its only an hour from PE, what a bonus. The cabin was super cosy and comfortable and the surroundings were exactly what we needed to recharge ourselves. Nothing but the sound of birds and the trickling of our stream at the end of our property, and the darkest of darkness when the lights were off at night....utter bliss, total peace. Beautiful walking and hiking with breathtaking views and scenery. We shall most definitely return.

We were a group of three families hiking with teenage children. All of us were fit but relatively new to hiking. We chose two walk the Two Gorges Hike and stay two nights at the Stone Mountain Lodge and then carry on the circular hike back to the start on the third day. From first contact Lara was friendly, helpful and gave simple clear responses to our queries and questions. When it came to book and pay the whole process was simple. On arrival we made contact with Dion the manager as instructed. He was extremely helpful and we completed the formalities quickly before setting off. If we were to do the hike again we would stay over night at the start to allow a more leisurely beginning of the day, as we had already driven for three hours before we started the five hour hike (with lunch and swim stops). The hike was hard work in places with some steep narrow climbs and descends on loose rocky paths. The first day we did just over 11km with a 656m elevation gain and a similar distance on the third day return route. On the whole the route is well marked with 'painted paws' indicating the correct direction. There is phone reception virtually the whole way around the hike and at the cottage. The accommodation was comfortable, clean with a well kitted kitchen. The views were spectacular. Plenty of hot water for showers was provided by the wood fired 'Donkey'. However we made the classic mistake of carrying far too much food and drink in our packs making them far too heavy. We needed to plan our meals with greater care and make better use of the fairly extensive honesty shop up at the Stone Mountain Lodge. Overall a fantastic experience which everyone enjoyed immensely. I would highly recommend a visit.

This place is worth the grind through the gorge and over the mountains to get there. Be warned, this is not for the fainthearted, and you need to be reasonably fit to be able to clamber up rocks and walk along narrow paths against the cliff with a backpack. We made the mistake of leaving too late and landed up having to walk 1.5 hours in the dark, but with a torch, the paths were very easy to see. Allow for at least 6 hours. The honesty shop at the top was definitely a nice surprise so don't carry yourself to death on tinned foods, milk and wine, these are stocked in the cupboards. The views are magnificent, the silence absolute (except for the shouting baboons of course) and when we were there the moon was bright enough not to need a torch to go outside. We struggled with the heat going down as we chose to walk the Jeep track which was tough in itself, even though it was Autumn. The sun was relentless and the nature of the terrain does not offer much shade. Either way, you have to get up and you have to get down so you choose your poison. For the adventurous and those that seek to experience beauty otherwise inaccessible, it is definitely worth the encounter. Well done to the people who thought this up, built it and made it accessible.

Right from our booking online to check out the staff were friendly, efficient and informative. They saw that I had booked a smaller unit not really suited to 3 adults and immediately upgraded us as no extra cost. The beds were wonderfully comfortable- tastefully decorated and fabulous position. The hikes were well marked and there’s one for everyone- from easy to very technical - highly recommended getaway !!

We enjoyed 2 nights at Kleinrivier. It is easy to get to, yet off the beaten track to be quiet and wild. There is a variety of accommodation options according to guests needs, and the property is well looked after. We stayed in one of the Dassiekrans cabins. The unit was super clean, beds were great, and the unit as a whole was well appointed. There is solar lighting, a camping fridge/freezer, and a gas stove. A very comfortable and quiet stay. We walked some of the trails, which are very well laid out and marked, and guests are given a detailed map and description to take with. Trails vary in length and difficulty, and we made up our own from the network of trails. We were lucky with the weather, and the scenery is spectacular. We saw lots of game on the walks, too! Dion and his staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. I lost a part of my binoculars on one of our hikes, and Dion dispatched a team to locate it (which they did!) and arranged to send it on to me. Fantastic service! The best endorsement I can give is that we will be back. Loved it.
